    Maximillian Davis' work is absolutely beautiful. Those Jil Sander bags are fantastic! If only I could afford Bottega Veneta!!! I really do like the Jackie bag but its kinda been there done that!!

    Ferragamo under Maximillian Davis continues to impress. Jil Sander, a welcomed change. BV too heavy but I like the Sardine. Prada, the light airy dresses were nice but still everything looks like it would fall apart. Gucci still needs to get its shit together.

    I loved the shoes and flared dresses at Ferragamo, Bottega Veneta was interesting but i think we lost the woman in that explosion of fabrics and experimentation. I liked the loose silhouettes at Prada and the soundtrack at Gucci.
    Gucci's clothes were normal or unwearable (skorts?). I loved MaxMara but i also loved Tom Ford. The aesthetic at Tom Ford is little bit more pumped up but there was great timeless pieces.
    About Gucci, under Michele, there was a lot of classic pieces. I actually bought a lot of classic tailoring and separates. There was costumes on the show but have we ever seen anybody irl in that?
    Yes, it's interesting to see that Louis Vuitton is not going for the route everybody is going for. At the same time, Nicolas's collections have always been very creative but with a sense of reality or at least buzz-worthy products. So maybe creativity is still the antidote over everything.

      Yes, I feel you on Gucci and agree creativity is the antidote❤

    I definitely don’t have the history in Fashion that you do, but the Gucci collection was really just boring. I consider myself a casual observer, but boy was I supervised! Now, Ferragamo and Bottega? Those really struck a chord with me. Super interesting and just fun to look at. Great video as per usual!

      Yes I was more into Ferragamo and Bottega over Gucci. Thank you for watching❤

    Loved this review! As beautiful as Ferragamo under Davis is, I have heard it is not doing well financially. Also living in Milan, you tend to see a vast scope of high end brands on local people, much more than you would elsewhere, especially the Italian brands. I rarely see anyone with new Ferragamo. Hopefully it picks up because his stuff is stunning. Also loved Jil as always, and there was a coat that was really reminiscent of celine ss18, beige with arm slits.

      @MarysRoom  Před 8 měsíci

      Yes I was looking at the financials and it doesn't seem like they are doing too well. But this year in general, luxury houses aren't experiencing the same boom they had in previous years. Ohh yess I know which one you are talking about from the SS18 collection. Thank you for watching❤

    Great video!
    Gucci is all over the place it seems. Almost as if, “please buy something!”
    Most of this collection, to me, is unwearable. Ferragamo was absolutely gorgeous!!

    I had this ephiany today. I was explaining to someone that while I'm into fashion, I dress to fit in, not to stand out. And while I would not call myself quiet luxury (I grew up preppie and found it incredibly boring) the movement is for people like me....people for whom fashion is about fitting in, not standing out. It's kind of assumed that if you're into fashion you want people to notice you, even if it's just the logo but also for the drama. But i waited years to find a satin kimono that I wear like a sweater with belt... that is so dark green subtle pattern & shorter length....that very few poeple notice it as something special when i wear it. Most kimino tops are all about being dramatic which would sttand out. It's assumed if your fashion you want to stand out but my favorite shos was Armani, just stunningly lovely and comfortable to wear, not much in the way of new designs. Thanks for your intelligent & artistic look at fashion, it's so inspiring to me.

      Ohh such great points! I definitely need to check out the Armani show. I definitely feel you, for me, as I get older I need to feel comfort with my clothing. I dress to be comfortable, feel quality materials, but I also want my clothing to be flattering. I definitely had periods where I was more experimental. But now I want my clothing to work for me. Thank you so much for sharing❤❤❤

    Ferragamo is ❤❤❤
    And Bottega well, a bit of confusing intermezzo with the classic suits, but the dresses are 🔥🔥🔥, pure art, I am loving this in this minimalist era (sure there is subtile art like Loewe, but I was missing the drama, the excess)
    O, and the colors have always been more italian thing then germany french, brit, russian..you name it..
    These collections are put toghether, minus Gucci (and Celine, that happens when the groups push this pressure, try to hype it, make it for the youngest generations and..it is a mess. Like YSL clients, they won't go anywhere, you know? I can't see stable branding if gen Z will buy one object and never return, and even so at the price point of YSL).
    Prada was interesting. And their shoes craft is exceptional. I know the bags are not the best. But I do appreciate the authencity.
    Gucci, I don't think it was bad. At the times it gave me the 'italianity'vibe, but as if he couldn't make it, like whole idea, that was interuppted with something. Not sure what, maybe expectations, and to still be as appealing to youngsters, so with kinda preppy vibe try to make it his way with the coats, and kinda more italian. Not sure. But for the moments, I did get the vibe. But some items are too instagram, KarJenners and well, short. Sexy is not the problem here. That was never problem for italian design. Just, showing too much skin does is not the equivalent of sexy. But, at least my father would be happy, as a some of the models did get the coat, too 😂. I liked the color story.
    P.S. LVMH is losing money too.

      Yes I think Ferragamo, BV were my favs from MFW🔥 Both different approaches but an exploration of their houses. Yes I think Gucci needs a bit more time to figure this new era out. But I think there is something there to follow. Thank you for watching!

    Love the simple style. That blue is so pretty . Love the crimson red it’s striking.

    What are your thoughts on pheobe philo's relationship to diversity? There is a clip going around of Iman telling a story about how Phoebe philo said to her she would never use a black model unless forced. I don't doubt that the sizing wasn't inclusive at her celine as well, but I do think her brand would do a hard flop with this kind of attitude in 2023.

    • @MarysRoom
      @MarysRoom  Před 8 měsíci

      It's unacceptable and if she wants to expand her audience with her new collection she needs to have greater diversity and size inclusivity. It will flop if she does not. Thank you for watching!

    Ugh… and now the Jil Sander ostrich vanity pouch is on my list 😫😅😍
    Bottega show was just 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼 truly unmatched in my opinion… so far at least, but obviously loving how everyone thought the sardine bag is “trendy” meanwhile the entire show completely highlighted the sardine motif in new ways so it’s iconic in my book 🫶🏼😍

    • @MarysRoom
      @MarysRoom  Před 8 měsíci

      Yes I love how MB bringing the craftmenship associated with bag at the forefront on the runway. The Sardine is definitely an icon for the house and loving all the new variations and playful handle. Thank you so much for for watching❤
