- Check out this build and walk around video of my ovrlnd trailer. I'm no vlogger or trailer professional by any means, but this was a fun build and I thought I'd share and maybe help someone else with their project.
Subscride for more upcoming videos regarding this build. Thanks. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Great to see kids helping out and enjoying the work.
Nice build, and it's great that you did it with your boys, great memories
GREAT BUILD! May I add GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE. Three year ago we bought a Smittybult Gen II, that's a story on its own, and mounted it on a 4x5 open trailer that we already had. Soon we started planning a new trailer. We stopped by Lowe's to compare and decided on a 4x6 is what we needed. We started designing and buying stuff, lights, fenders, latches etc. About a year ago I stumbled onto your build video and told my wife, look this guy has built my trailer. I live in middle Tn and go to the mountain regularly. Would like to someday meet up and compare. Loved that your spending time with kids and making them a part of it.
Awesome build, and even better to have your sons help. That project will make memories and experiences for years to come.
What a great project to share with your two sons. The trailer turned out great!
I hope to start my own project in the near future. Thank you for the inspiration.
Love that you have your boys helping!
You make it look so easy. What a great project to do with your boys. I hope you get years of enjoyment!
Craftsmanship. I see Craftsmanship. Gaps are consistent as welds are. It sounds tight and solid. What a great job and configuration.
I'm trying to configure yak hauler and sleeper.
Side bar. My son helped me working on vehicles and building/remodeling. He now earns over 100,000 a year and never set foot in a college classroom or a tech school. He learned electricity, pneumatic, hydraulic, A/C, heating, and tools and techniques.
We don't know what our Son's will be. We can only inspire and share our experiences and knowledge. And keep their hands full!
But you know this....
Well done job on trailer. Really great job. It's all in the details and your well acquainted with details I see.
Hands down, best build I have seen.
Awesome build! Good to see your version of an offroad trailer. Thanks for sharing!
Great job guys, time well spent making great memories.
I love how easy you made it look, makes me think I can manage a project like this. Great content!!
Here in Aus we try to make the tyre size the same a the truck. Just in case. I've been places 1000 km from help.
That is brilliant! Good thinking!
Great build, congrats for the trailer, for getting yours kidos involved and for the desire to share your experience! Way to go!
Nice build.
Good to see that you involved your kids in the build.
Awesome setup man!! I'm sure your boys will enjoy that for years to come.
Great build! Thank you for showing us.
Thanks. Nice job. Just the answer to my camping plans. Now, I’m going to one.
Very nice built! I’m thinking of building one myself. Thank you for the share
What a awesome job I want to build my own now
Awesome build! Best part was watching your son help build it. Trailer is perfect and for a fraction of the cost of a manufactured trailer.
It was great to see this build in person, great job!
Nice job. Just got mine. Gonna be modding it out over the summer. Can't wait. Great job sir ...
Looks great. Very nice build
Great build, thanks for sharing.
Nice build. Having fun getting it done.
Cheers
Great work! Thanks for sharing.
Great build and along some great back round zeppelin, yeah.
Great build. I like the angle iron and the gussets to be able to use plywood for the sides and top of the box.
Finishing my trailer up now. Used a lot of your advice and looks much like your trailer.
Awesome. Glad the vid helped out.
Awesome build, kept it simple and it came out solid and ready for the additional features you're going to add
Thanks. Most of the upgrades are done and the part 2 vid is coming soon
Thanks again.
Inspiring project indeed . Thanks !
Nice trailer. I have a 4x6 trailer I'm about to start on. You gave me alot of great ideas for sure!
Good to hear. Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck and enjoy the build.
That is an impressive build sir. Kudos
This trailer build is great man. Good job.
Awesome job on the trailer, you gave me so many good ideas for my trailer, you definitely got my sub
Awesome job, great video! enjoy.
Thanks for sharing! Thinking maybe to take on a similar project with my son. Good stuff!
That is one nice build for sure!
man oh man! love it bro!
I LOVE IT! ❤ AMAZING!
Great build!
Looks great!
I' was given to me a trailer 4.5 x 5.5 I'm going to build a similar box I appreciate your ideas ,looks good
Outstanding build!!
Thanks. Making upgrades now. Part 2 coming at some point. Haha.
Awesome build !!!
Nice to see someone with common since to have built one instead of dropping 8k on a prebuilt which in my opinion is way over priced for what they are. Nice Job!
Great job mate
I recently came into a 3x5 trailer and am wanting to build some variety of off road trailer out of it and I’m bouncing around the idea of mounting one or two Optima batteries in a tongue box and setting up a heavy power connection using Anderson plugs so the batteries in the trailer get charged by the alternator when the truck is running. Might opt for a battery isolation relay of some kind just to keep from accidently running the truck battery too low if I have the trailer connected but I’m still planning out details. The idea of an on board battery and an Anderson plug to the tow vehicle is pretty appealing to me.
Looks good nice job.
awesome build well done mate
Pretty work
Nice build!
Thanks for sharing.
Nice build!!
That's pretty cool! I bet my Civic could tow something like that. Or maybe it's time I got a truck. lol
awesome job my man.
Great Job !!
Great trailer. I’m losing my ability to overland due to eyesight. Looked at this for a rc rig.
Great video
Great joh on your trailer
Cool build
Good job!
Super dope !
Thanks! Great ideas!
Nice Work,!
Using fiberglass resin on the plywood worked great on my tiny boat build.
Great job.
Nice job. I think I would add a roto pack holder for extra water or gas.
The boys are using a grinder without safety glasses. Too young to lose an eye. Get on it dad!
Like that your boys are invalved
Muito bom, parabéns!!
My dad and I are starting a utility trailer build and I think we might go your route seeing your video and progress! Great stuff! How much was the fab work out of curiosity!
nice build
When you extend the hitch forward also extend it rearward and tie it into the hitch on back of trailer. If you get stuck you can use the trailer to tie onto to pull you out with out damaging it.
This would also add rigidity to the trailer and drawbar.
It would prevent this from happening;

we did the same thing with our overland build but we ordered our axle from Dexter and they had mounted the spring perches on the wrong side so that it was above the spring. we wanted it below the spring. You really should weld on perches to the correct side because flipping the axle sets the preload of the axle the wrong direction. All axles have a slight bend to them and you can see when you flipped it the preload is now upside down. Just a heads up.
Just reworked the leafs and suspension. Fixed the perches also. Thanks for the tip.
@@ovrlndeast2834 awesome and good luck with the build. you can check our build on our CZcams.
Very nice work! I wish you were my neighbor! LOL
Awesome build! Come to the beach and let's fish!
Which beach??
This is so awesome imma go buy me a trailer from home depot
On your 15x5 rims what tire size did you go with? I was told 205/75r15 was the biggest I could do on a 15x5. Thanks, great job on the trailer! Building mine now.
Hi bro , very nice build.
Do you have more detailed information about how you made the doors. And the frame of the doors ?
Especially the edge where you mount the weather seal
Good stuff
Just picked up my Facebook market place trailer! Going to use some of your ideas! Hoping I can get my boys out there to help me build it?
Awesome. Glad to hear you picked up some ideas from the vid. And definitely get the boys involved.
Be sure to subscribe. I’ve made the upgrades I mentioned and plan to do a 1 year review on the trailer soon.
Good luck.
Love the topo map paint job.
Thanks. Not my idea but it worked out ok
Howd you do that?
Used my wife’s cricket. Cut out a template, stuck it on and painted.
@@ovrlndeast2834 I didn’t know they could do all that so is it wood or some other material?
Side panels are wood.
Bro, that looks good. I like it. What are the wheels? Where did you get them?
I like this. So you know, with lumber prices now and a year ago, HDPE and ABS panelling would have been cheaper, waterproof, you could use VHB tape for adhesive and have a colour choice...for next time, cheers!
Cool project. I wonder how much it cost to build it.
Have you had a chance to use off road? How does the ball hitch work? Trying to decide between a pintle or a ball.
Nice trailer. Kinda looks like your weather stripping is on backwards???
Do you think this would work with a 2x4 frame if your not going to use a roof top tent? I'm going to put a rack on top just to hold our bikes, but no serious weight up top.
The weatherstripping is on backwards! The foam goes on the outside. Nice trailer BTW~
You are correct. But it wouldn’t work that way. Had to improvise. Still had no leaks.
I were you flipped it to the bottom of the Springs right there? Where the u boats go up. You could actually get you a plate of metal and actually drop that down with longer. You both put a couple of pieces of metal there, and then you can drop that whole thing down with you both just copy the top plate. The same metal plate did you both go in? Copy it onto another piece of metal and then stack your metal up. Get longer view bowls and then raise it up there you are.
Great build! Whats the dry weight of the trailer when all is said and done?
Just the trailer, no gear. 1050 lbs.
Me 'Im here cause it just looks interesting. At least I don't think I'm planning a build.
Did you just rotate the axle 180 and remount it? There is a natural bend in the axle and you are supposed to attach new perches on the top and keep the axle the same without rotating it to maintain the bend that is in the axle. The bend has a purpose to level the axle under load. Have you experienced any issues like uneven tire wear or it not tracking correctly?
thanks
Very nice job. We're starting a trailer ourselves using an M416 frame as the base. Can you tell me how you built your doors?
Hey. The door jams are 1” angle and the frames are 3/4”. That allowed the doors to close flush once I added a little bit of weather striping.
The inside of the 3/4 angle frames is 5/8” which worked perfect for the 5/8 plywood inserts.
Hope this helps.
@@ovrlndeast2834 awesome. Thank you!
het there good job, going to build one myself, just one thing, the weather strip is on the wrong way, soft side to the door surface.
like your build in the process of doing mine. one question how tall is your box, keep going back and forth on that height.
It’s 2’. I knew I was going to have a slide out drawer with my cooler on it so I worked backwards from there. Ended up to be 2’
Do you have the measurements for the top rack? I want to do this same thing but on a smaller trailer
