- Update 1.50 for ETS2 introduced cool new features like Temporal Anti-Aliasing (TAA) for smoother edges, softer shadows, and more realistic smoke effects. That said how much does it differ from the old graphics?

Lot's of people say there isn't a difference, but i think it's just because you need to know what you are looking for. The taa is huge improvement, just makes everything look buttery. And then the shadows are generally for the buildings; pre update their shadows were kinda like half-dark, but now it looks like the light has physically been blocked
True. And I also didnt have time to point out the diferences on the video which doesnt help 😭
still, a single guy implemented TAA better than a team of devs

That's the only thing i noticed. Old version is "sharper" or more "edgy" in some parts whereas the new version is more smoother or as you said, more buttery.

It is there. The difference in the quality of the shadow textures, there was a "conditional" dependence of the distance from the object. The further away - the more blurred + I noticed that shadows appeared on some bridges.
And we corrected the shadows from thin objects (fences, pipes, etc.), now they "strip" less

Thanks for the effort taken to show the visual differences between Versions,
it's not always easy to see an Anti Aliasing implementation as a huge difference as not everything is affected so sometimes there doesn't seem to be any difference, but when you know where to look 😲WOW!.
Apparently many people in the comments don't understand what anti aliasing is. Anyways, the difference between the old method and the new method is very minimal. I'd say its improvements are mainly noticeable in thin wire like structures such as fencing, bridge supports and so on.
I personally like TAA over most anti aliasing methods, as it preserves a lot of detail, and I believe if its done well it can be very good. However it does have a bit of a tendency to hallucinate objects due to the how if works, so that could lead it to be a bit of a write off for some people.
I think TAA is very better than MLAA used before, even now it looks isnt different. TAA isnt load PC so hard like it does MLAA.
TAA being finally added to the game is a total game changer, I'll finally be able to play without having to run the game at 1620p to able to not see shimmering or jagged edges while my gpu screams at me

there are improvements about anti aliasing but it's quite difficult to see without markings. but i'll recommend to try it yourself and it wont make you disappointed 😁
Hardly can tell, things i've noticed is shadows, and vegetation on the old one little bit darker.

This is going to be much easier on the eye with the smoother edges and greatly reduced flicker; still lots of room for improvement in some places, though.
10 years and the other guy's mod still crushes this lol.

As you can SEE, they can! this game and ATS(which i enjoy more than ets2) it have potential it can be better! the only thing to do is that they will need do some serious good updates on those 2 games because they have potential! i think im not the only one who have more than 1k hours in each game, and we do deserve some good stuff for playing this. This is (i hope) beta TAA for this game,i hope they will improve it much more better in the update. I've been struggling with flickering & not linear edges in this game for a lot of time,now i see it getting better. And without any outside mods! just from the game original. That is what i want from developers, to give us what we deserve.

What are the problems from some people? The difference is like day and night. The distance shadow, especially the flickering fix, it is just amazing. If you know the bad anti aliasing before and play the beta 1.50 now you will change your opinion.
Its not a night and day difference. Its a good improvement, but not ground breaking. TAA has its own problems it comes with, plus the game is missing other stuff that can make night and day difference, example Direct X 12.

The graphics in this game are about 10 years behind other games, look at the graphic quality in games like Project CARS 2, scs have a lot of work to do.

personally i stopped using snowy moon's TAA because it makes signs hard to read when in motion. writings on signs looks bury for me. maybe its my bad settings, don't know. Noticed that i'm better of with in game antialiasing on and with enhanced antialiasing in NVCP. 1440p 200% scaling.

So if you already had the TAA mod, that also has nice shadows, then you won't see any difference at all in other words, great, it was definitely worth the wait.

Yhey even changed the background performance, when I minimize the game, My GPU load reach 100% like a jet engine, finally I can change youtube videos without my gpu screaming at me haha

I think the only thing need to improve in this game is the lighting the lighting is more saturated and contrasted it makes the reflection and surfaces look bad

Pixel by pixel identical ETS2/ATS 1.50 = ETS2/ATS 1.49 + TAA & Shadows . Big changes in graphics coming with update 1.51...
To be honest, I can't see any difference.actully, I've said that because I can't actually see properly due to having cataract in one eye, so my vision is a bit off waiting for an appointment to have cataract surgery should of been done 4yrs ago so it's been a struggle to play the game
Such a comparison makes absolutely no sense because this is not a FPP game and driving a truck you will not see any difference. At first I thought it was a "Find the differences in the pictures, ultramegahard level" game 😄
I hope that after such a 'mega update' SCS will follow suit and after so many years they will make openable doors in the trucks and allow you to walk around freely to admire this ultra realistic effect 🤔

His mod was not as good as people praise it. It generated ghosting. If you look really close, you will see it. It looked like you smeared vaseline on your screen. SCS did it the proper way.

@@rev_YT4358Don't worry, you really need to know where to look to see the difference, but it is there I assure you. The anti aliasing and shadows are way better than before even tho CZcams's compression can ease out the aliasing issue

Ps For anyone not really seeing a Difference TAA does not change everything so don't expect it to, a couple of good examples of what TAA actually does do are from
2:30 with the Bridge, while not completely gone there is a huge reduction in "Shimmer" & the change in the shadows on the Roadway
7:00 The shadow of the Palm on the white wall is no longer Shimmering/Flickering
Of course, everyone driving truck is looking for differences in shade of palm tree on the wall 😂
As long as game engine is weak no TAA will help. SCS added this poor TAA implementation just to keep hype going.
