Those lyrics hit me and gave me chills. So sad! Mac was an old soul and listening especially his past few albums it’s like even tho he wanted to live.. he knew/ predicted he was not gonna be on earth long 😢.
@@carmenallen2557 I agree, Mac was always attuned to his feelings and fears, I believe this translated into timeless music. Some people live up to 90 years and even more, and have yet to touch as many life's as mac miller did. He is truly iconic, a brand, and a mood.
@@carmenallen2557 I agree with every word you've said. Mac was such an intuitive and amazing person. His Last two albums and a variety of other songs sprinkled together paint such an introspective view on Mac's life and the legacy he knew he was going to leave behind. Almost as if he couldn't escape it even knowing what was coming.
As many people say, its weird to be so effected by someones death that you technically didn't know. But I feel like if you truly listen to Mac's music and feel his emotions through the sounds and expression you can come to know and understand Mac maybe more than some of his friends or family because he put his heart and soul into his music. He often talked about putting things in his music that are hard to admit and that made him uncomfortable. Almost like a confession. Such as his back and forth struggle with drugs, women/relationships, and alcohol.
He put it all on the page and never held back and it shows. That is why he is something special. Anyone can put on Macs first albums and work your way through to the very last one and get to know Mac and watch him grow with every word he says. Thats all he did was make music everyday so there is so many feelings and moments captured in songs that will be released for many years to some. I could go on all day but feel free to reply and talk about Mac. I love hearing what he meant to others. Thanks for listening.

Image if you were able to live your dream, make music and change others lives for the better, but it came at the cost of downers to be able to relax after sold out shows and uppers to stay alert and continually perfect your craft, along with heart break and just knowing that you make your best music when your feeding your inner demons.

I think he aspired to convey that in his music; he was vulnerable and had personal obstacles just like some of us which allowed us to connect with him through his music. It made it relatable therefore it comforted us. He still continues to inspire me which, I think, was his ultimate goal…to inspire love in the world

Last summer-ish I was trying to figure out a tattoo to get in honor of Mac.
The song (& more specifically the live music video) “Objects in the mirror” helped me through some hard times back in 2013. During that time as well butterflies became meaningful for me after a therapist gave me a metaphor about them, relating to myself.
So I was conjuring up a tattoo idea, and it was the outline of Mac in that video, with butterflies flying around him. But of course, tattoos are a big commitment so I wasn’t completely sure yet.
WELL, this video pops up on my feed right after coming up with that idea, maybe the day after, maybe days, I can’t remember fully now. And check out the very last clip of this video….

How could anyone seriously look at the energy he shared and the mass amount of music and messages he left for us a 'waste'?? I totally understand the heartache and what ifs of pondering what another decade or two or three of him being here, and continuing to evolve might have held for us...but maybe the 10 year shooting star trajectory full of ups and downs, darks, lights, and everything in between was what he was meant to share with the world and then he was freed of the pain that catalyzed his art. He was a traveler of dimensions, for better or worse and I believe there is a much bigger picture that we aren't fully able to grasp yet. In the meantime, I can see, feel and know his energy through his music, words, interviews, social media treasures and more...but also through his fans, and the connections that continue to ripple out.
