What an exquisite performance by the Sixteen, presenting Allegri's phenomenal work with unparalleled brilliance. One of the sopranos captivates us, her talent truly amazing. Her voice resonates with a celestial grace, as if an angel has descended upon us, bestowing upon our hearts an ethereal embrace of pure enchantment.
This is one of the best versions I have ever heard. The soprano of the second choir is just stunning ,goosebumps allover. Thank you so much

O sixteen superou-se com a nova interpretação da inigualável obra de arte. O salmo da confissão de David com música de Allegri é também uma oração que fazemos. Vejo, frequentemente, muitas interpretações, mas esta é a melhor. Parabéns e obrigado por nos permitirem acesso a essa experiência gratificante. Deus os abençoe.

Pietro Alfieri's botched transcription of the composition, from 1840, became the universally known version, even though it's different from the original. Here we can hear the original.
Alfieri's botched version sounds beautiful on its own right, but it's not the original. It's not the one that was originally sung in the Sistine Chapel (nor anywhere else before the 1840's).
While it's a serendipitously beautiful-sounding mistake, I think it's still a shame that it became the best-known version (and for most people the _only_ version they have ever heard).

Not me rewindind 03:30 to 03:37 to hear that weird note I'm not quite sure I like. I'm so sure it's on purpose but I think what you grow up listening to affects your baseline enjoyment, it's def a lot different. I def wouldn't say bad. I'd say different. Not so smooth on the ear 😂 but soooooooo amazing to enjoy this masterpiece in a new way, having only ever been exposed to one variation since childhood. Thank you for sharing

Can you explain the question please? I am interested to understand what different versions there are.
It's a refund. The original is more than 300 years and was by the Vatican forbidden to reproduce outside.

@@robdee81 Incorrect. During Allegri's time, the performance of the "Miserere" was considered a closely guarded secret of the Vatican, and it was not supposed to be shared or performed outside the Sistine Chapel.
