  • If you have a piece of tubing but it doesn’t fit a pipe or a fitting for a piece of tube. There’s an easy way to expand the Flexible tubing to fit whatever you need. Swaging tool is very useful. They typically use these in plumbing to expand copper pipe but are use these all the time to expand flexible tubing. If you need that perfect fit you can put a little bit of oil on to the swaging tool, Then slide the tubing over the swaging tool to the size you want. A little bit of heat will expand the tube to the right size. When you pull the two being off you have a nice fit without a lot of fuss. Hope you found the video useful.

Thanks for this! Of course I ordered the staging tool from Amazon, and will use my hairdryer. 😂. But my patio fountain will be fixed by tomorrow. You’re awesome!

Thanks for the great video! Be careful not to use any petroleum greases or oils because it can degrade many plastics and rubber. Silicone or lithium grease would be safer.

Tie some cotton around the tip to shrink it leaving a long section, apply some Vaseline/petroleum jelly, insert the hose as fare as possible 2"-3" is fine.
Then pull the cotton thread out.
You now have a tighter fit than can easily hold 20+psi of air and or water.
No need to change its chemical structure and no damaged hoses.

How about decreasing a larger pipe size so it can enter a smaller pipe

You probably should not use the petroleum jelly. Try it by just heating the plastic with a hairdryer.
