I used to fish a spot like that inland of Byron. Surprisingly large number of fish in these shallow pools but working out where to cast can be tricky. Sunrise and jig spins (black grub, gold blade) was the right combination.
Nice chunky stocked bass. Fun to cat h anywhere and super fun in those urban environments

@@222Racing I just did a bit of Google map trawling and figured out that spot. Wish it were a bit closer to me. Most of my bass fishing involves wild bass and a lot of bush bashing and leeches and super dependent on water quality.
Might cruise there for a go before they start to go quiet if the weather clears up. I lost out on the family comp this year, cleared 2 41cm wild bass in a creek but my nephew smashed a 43cm. Determined to hit the 45 or 50 next season
@@its_hewesy Mate try giving the nsw fish stocking website a go, you may have something close to you that's been stocked just like in my case. Worth a crack!
Yeah mate give it a go, there's a couple other lakes close by here you can try also.
Haha I know how it feels, I got 2nd biggest bass in the Penrith fishfest from the Nepean down at Belgenny, got 2 there both 34.5 hahaha one was a little fatter than the other.

@@222Racing they stocked a small lake similar to that near me in 2019/2020 however with the flooding rain last year they all seemed to head out with the overflow. Caught one in the creek at the end of March but nothing in the artificial dam

Have you fished all the other ponds around Mt Annan and Narellan areas?
Didn't get a good look at the large white bird, but was probably an Eastern Great Egret. Very common in outer Sydney suburbs.
Thanks for the comment! I had a look online and turns out it was a Royal Spoonbill. Awesome looking bill on them.
@@222Racing Awesome, I didn't realise there were any Royal Spoonbills in greater Sydney. Last place I saw one of those was the Hunter Valley.
