A lot a talk about deer but not one in this video.
Can't believe they didn't film one single deer during the making of this video if this was such a good property...?

I have lots of pics I can send you including 3 nice 8 pointers eating at the same time 30 yards from my cabin back in the woods. Here in NH I am feeding these deer to get them use to coming into my property while I work up a plan of attack on Tree stand placement, areas to grow, how to setup better trails that work in my favor and still leave a safe haven for the deer. The idea is to help populate a 20 sq mile area! Almost no huning pressure!

I have about 8 acres of land and have tons of does but no mature bucks, and across the road that marks my land is a swamp, and tons of land. I have seen mature bucks on that land but cannot hunt it. Any tips to bring them to my property cheaply?

Sounds like exactly what Tony Lapratt says. Was this property set up by him? Research Tony Lapratt, he the one that has developed these techniques.

Jake do you hunt around the micro food plots in the morning or is that place an afternoon spot only. I mean i have read many articles were people say do not hunt food plots in the morning. Is that a different story when it comes to the smaller ones.

80 lbs of Blue Seal blend deer food lasts about a week. My trail cam has about 1500 pics per week of 8 or so does at a time, then 4 different bucks that I have now recognised. I have a small coyote population I have to take care of to aid me in the production of large Boone and Crocket type deer. I love to video tape deer almost as much as harvesting one. After I tag out at archery then rifle, then I shot a 192Lb 8 pointer with my muzzleloader. I do not make it to rifle season before Itag out

I beg to differ, but that 5.5 year old buck didn't know where safety was. :-)

I am trying to make my Grandfathers small 15 acres into better deer and other animals habitat. He is 99 and still hunts but slowing down. he has one pond by his house then past that down the hill he has another small pond and 3 very small food plots. I am trying to make beds by hinge cutting. I need to bring light into the woods. most of it is hardwoods. He also has a creek that runs through but that is not year around. He has given me a free hand to do what i want. I am watching videos on how to do this. He lives in Kentucky about 25 miles east of Owensboro. We see some deer on the trail cams but not that many. There is a lot of woods around him and some farm land a little down the way. You know of anyone in my area that I could talk to to get some ides on what i should do. Most of the stuff i am trying is off your videos.
    Thanks Michael

Do you have persimmon trees on his property? The deer love them here on my property in NC. I've had an influx of good-sized bucks this year because of the drought. I have some small ponds meant to water my animals and fish from but it draws the deer when the seasonal creek disappears.
Only the female Persimmon trees grow the fruit and here there are two types. One is ripe and dropping fruit now and the other kind drops its fruit after the first frost.

Jake, Would you be interested in helping me with a similiar looking property in NH. I have Large oaks around a dense area with elderberry, sumac and plenty of browsing. I believe you with the quantity of deer on your property. Here in NH the deer polulation is lower per acre than most states, however. I have a cabin with 40 acres. I cut back small trees to plant brassica around 8 acres of dense cover with lots of deer trails. I have lots of rubs and scrapes. My trail cam is littered with Deer!

All your neighbors are not Amish. I have 70 acres and every surrounding property is Amish. They kill any and everything brown. They even recognize the deer numbers are at record lows in out area but they don't care. If it's a fawn it's dead. My Amish neighbor has 76 grandchildren and counting. They have roughly 16 to 20 kids per family. That's allot of tags and hunters.
My hunting property is perfect and it has everything deer want . Yet they can't survive my area. It's truly sad as 20 years ago we had deer all over. It's all over now.

This cameraman sucks. What's the point of him showing us the scrape if the cameraman's not going to film it
