  • This operation allowed me to avoid fusion. I’m documenting my progress for others to see so that they can make a little more informed decision. Artificial disc replacement ADR at l4l5 l5s1 is where my two discs are replaced.

No problem man! I'm only one person of many that has had this surgery. Maybe I'm one of the outliers. I feel like people who have had the surgery have issues admitting that it wasn't all they hoped it was because of money, risk, etc. Although some people claim that their lives are much better. It's hard to say what the real stats are regarding this procedure. Good luck.

@@jeremiahgriego8677 I definitely see how pride in general would prevent the truth. Still, those who haven't had adr, like me, are faced with unrelenting pain. The ONLY other option is fusion which begs for future problems. At some point, the constant nerve pain leads to a fork in the road of adr hope or dark, dark psychological demons for me. Even with your pains, it's better then what is constant demeaning pain...for me. Truly thank you for efforts in vloging and hope to see an update in a year.

Get the Homedics back and neck massager and grind those thoracic suckers out. I do it twice a day. I get tense in the thoracic spine on the right side (sub scapulars) from holding the mouse 10 hours a day. As you know from the ADR group my ADR experience has been absolutely great. Went from disabled to riding motocross at 6 months. Each person is different. It seems to me that the best results are to be had when you score high on the Oswestry Disability Index pre-operatively (I did - I was in pretty bad shape dragging my right leg behind me and spending a lot of time on the floor because I could not walk much). Waiting too long when you have a compressed and inflamed nerve root is not a good idea. I was "lucky" I got disabled very quickly (literally overnight when the disc exploded) and intervened with ADR pretty quickly, too.

Dude, you should add bikram, restaurative yoga in your daily routine to get some loose to your muscles. If pain increases during the night especially,it s a good sign of inflammation. what I mean is that it might be a sign of inflammation in the bone, which would show up as modic changes on the vertebral plates. Your new mri should somehow confirm that. Good luck Man💪🏼

My symptoms are slowly getting worse and I just know I’m looking at surgery over the next few years. Your posts, however few and far, really help.
