Thank you captain, the ATR has become my favorite aircraft together with the A320. It’s very interesting learning how to fly it 👍👍👍

It’s a bummer the ATR isn’t that popular in the USA. Such an amazing plane

Hello Captain, when reaching cruise altitude, why is the magenta speed 5 knots below the calculated cruise speed? I understand that if I crosscheck the magenta speed calculated by the FMS, it would be 5 knots lower than the QRH speed for the weight/FL/temperature table. Thanks and regards

Thank you for another insightful video, Captain 😊 I just did not fully understand why the speed was first set to 170 KIAS, then 155 and then back to 170 during the climb? Was there a speed restriction on the SID?

this is to improve the climb as the IAS mode will now pitch up to compensate for the 'overspeed'. Hope I explained that correctly, otherwise anyone please correct me

Correct. The destination is behind us, and when ATC told us to climb to 5,500 feet before making the turn, we reduced the speed to increase the rate of climb.
