  • Josh needed his overgrown field and trails mowed. Tractor Time with Tim brings the 10' flexwing TS10 RhinoAg mower. Josh uses his Kubota B6000 with 4' rotary cutter (bush hog). The drone gets stuck in a tree with no way for us to get it out but a bucket truck was close by and came to the rescue!

I had a B6000 back in the last century. Snow plow/grader blade. I also had a 4 ft rotary mower. The PTO tho rotated backwards on the 6000’s , so the very experienced Woods dealer just got the torch out, hammered a new edge, quenched them, and put them on. I never wore them out! I see your friend had the converter attachment to reverse the rotation, super expensive back then. I built a three point concrete block (~200 pounds) counterweight - I leveled many many tons of soil, gravel, and snow with that 12 horse. Thanks for reminding me 👍

I really miss the old b6000. I started snow plowing using three of them to do sidewalks, in an office complex. We had power angle 48 inch blades on them and worked great.
The deepest snow I pushed with one was almost 26inches with 48inch drifts. Pushed through it with out a problem.

That 5025 was the right tool for the right job. We have a B7100 (3 cylinders) of the same vintage as that B6000. It’s great for skidding logs out of the woods, and also for small Brush Hogging (4 ft). Nice video and drone footage. Keep up the good work!

A month and a half ago I bought a 3520 with cab and I tell ya I’m spoiled now :) no more being covered/breathing in dust the Cab is the way to go ! I also found a great deal on a barley used 72” Bush hog just foot wider but it’s great had brand new blades on it too . You are correct about the collision avoidance on the drone, the Mavic does a poor job detecting thin stuff like wires or leafless trees. It works generally quite well, just bear in mind that it does not work in motions to the sides either, or around things like wires or winter trees. Fun watching that brush cutter wipe out all that tangled mess!

I especially enjoyed the Deer/Kubota comparison series and would have found those videos very useful last year when I spent hours, miles and fuel gathering some of the information you presented while trying to decide on the best tractor for my property. Very fair, concise and helpful information that would be helpful when one is in the tire kicking phase of buying. In the end I went with the Massey 1710tlb but had considered both the Deere and Kubota, all exceptionally good machines. Btw, the videos and editing are first rate, kudos to you both.

It's more common than what one would think. What happened was the bush-hog picked up some old barbed-wire laying down, wrapped it, and slung it forward around the operator.

That little b6000 would be great about the house. Handy for mulch and stuff.

The B6000 pto counter rotates but its fine if the mower is setup for that. When new, a reverser was available but are like hen's teeth to find. Tough little tractors.

@@timothykeith1367 It has the reverse gear installed on it, you can see it at 0:42 Other than that, it looks pretty stock, except the aftermarket breather on the left side.

That's mine. Yes it has the reverser on it so regular 3 pt implements work fine.

@@joshmiller3673 My dad has an original one. We moded a backhoe pump to run backwards for it, and flipped blades on a woods mower that works OK. We also have an original tiller for it.

I have to rehab my shop. Started out so I could dance in it - now it is watch the step! Ordered one surface grinder and they shipped me 2 for the same price. Great double floor use. Then I loaded in three 17' U-Haul's in there after Dad Passed. Naturally my collection of stuff for the tractor is bogging us down. Looking at taking one off a Ford that is stuck on the property. Might just fit my 1025R. Someday maybe a bigger GD Tractor , but for now no.

Always a good idea to have the longest extendable fishing Rod possible and line with you when droning. Also nothing you film can be boring... Barn is part of your "story"

Do u have a leaf blower to blow of the tractors when you get done with projects that way you won't introduce weeds to your own property.

i reccomend the milwaukee m18 leaf blower... thing works great... i have 2 for around the house my dad has one and my uncle has one.. my uncle uses it on the farm to blow down equipment like the round bailers and combine for service because of the dust... usually if you can catch a deal at home depot on the string trimmer that i also highly recommend they sell the kit for 329 with the battery and charger then throw in the blower for free.. the new string trimmer is a split boom that accepts an edger a chainsaw and hedge trimmer from milwaukee... that would be a pretty sweet setup for around your place and you'll never have to worry about gas again for those tasks...

From a single guy’s prospective finding the right tractor is like finding the right woman. When you find the right one, you find yourself committed to buying accessories for the one in question 😜. “Uh honey, does this batwing mower make the tractor look fat?”
Or “Yes Dear , the Rototiller is a fashion accessory like your purse is with that....uh, necklace?”

Interesting the tractor size like Johnnie 5 was a standard size tractor when we lived in farm country. There were lots IH 666 and JD 4020's there a few 1026's and 1256 IH
