This video goes over the top 5 mistakes I see when using a multimeter. Avoid putting your fingers on the test leads, pay attention to which ports your test leads are plugged into, don't try and read resistance on a hot circuit, when measuring volts make sure there is a difference in potential, and watch for your lead polarity
