My 6 year old told me the man that brings the therapy dog to their school every week took her out of class and to a room BY herself. Gave her crayons and let her sit with the dog for a little while. I was like "WHAAAAT?" I immediately called the school to ask why this man would be allowed to take my daughter out of class and to a room alone. Her teacher said "Umm...that never happened. She wasn't taken out of class" So I pressed her further and yep, she said that's what she would LIKE to do...go to a room and color with Brody (the dog), but she didn't actually get to. I was NOT afraid to offend anyone. And I was wrong! (Thank God). But I would do it again.

My childhood neighbourhood had many adults raise us like their own. They practiced “it takes a village to raise a child”. Someone from another part of the neighbourhood came, the parents would come out their houses and ask who they’re looking for and what they wanted. I was honestly shocked to find other neighbourhoods didn’t operate like that. I carry that today, I look out for the kids in my new neighbourhood. I don’t trust other adults so much.

You are so sadly correct about the 'even other kids' part. My son was 'abused', 'assaulted', 'touched' (I'm not sure which one is the more accurate term) by his best friend. His best friend had learned to do that inappropriate behavior from a male adult in his family and because his mother swept it under the rug and ignored it, the kid went on to do the say thing to my kid. My son ended up hiding under his covers to 'get away' from his 'best' friend. I never in a million years imagined his best and oldest childhood friend would do this to him. They were 8 years old. I reported it after the mother ignored what I told her had happened. CPS came and asked me questions, ever even spoke to my son, and I never heard another word from them. Now my son has to go to therapy, he has lost most of his male friends because of the mother's furious smear campaign (after she discovered I disclosed the abuse), and his self-confidence has gone to zero. The 'friend's' mother is a teacher by the way, a damn teacher, therefore she's a mandated reporter. I'll never forgive that family for the damage they've done, or myself for not intuitively knowing something was wrong.

Always stay vigilant! As a single mom who is only 23, I am aware of my vulnerability, but I am also aware of my strength to be able to protect my baby. I recently moved to a new town and tried finding a new church to attend. After only one visit, I was latched onto by the 70 year old pastor of the church. He started sending me creepy messages and texting with me all of the time. Then went and stalked my Facebook, liking pictures of me as a child. Telling me I’m special and he loves me. He was either latching onto me to groom me (even as an adult) or to get close to my son. I saw the signs of love bombing and listened to my gut. I never attended that church again. ALWAYS listen to your gut and instincts!!!

@@tyreseforren6721 I feel your pain, as something very similar happened to me... started when i was 4/5yo and went till about 8ish, by my 2nd cousins... twins were/are about 10 years older than me and their older brother.
Even at that young age, I was afraid to tell my family... for fear of being the cause of a split in our big extended family, or worse yet, that I wouldn't be believed and would be shamed, minimized and dismissed...
My brain repressed the memories, until I was in counseling as a preteen. My mom was told, but she must not have believed me.
When I confronted her about it as an adult, she claimed to have no memory... and continues to minimize, shame/blame and dismiss the very real facts surrounding my childhood and past trauma.

Listening to your children every day and investigating anything suspicious is a parents role! Also, if you have teen boys or girls who drive, watch for strange things like zip ties around their door handle, this type of thing alerts child trafficking rings that the person is alone and an easy steal! There is a lot in this area you could do videos on, talk to your police departments! I think this was one of your better vids! 🎃

Right now unless Mr. Wright walks into my life, my focus is on the health and happiness of my daughter, and maybe things will happen when they’re meant to happen. I would completely shut down and wouldn’t speak about it at all bc he threatened to kill my father ( his own brother), my mother, and my brother in front of me and save me for last. It worked for a year until I finally went to my mother and fell into her arms crying hysterically and I just told her he touched me in bad places and when I say my mom shot up so fast and said I’ll be right back before grabbing her rifle from the closet and I lost it even worse bc I started shooting gun’s at 5 my mom’s father my grandfather was an ex military man and I was his only female granddaughter he wanted to make sure that I knew how to handle weapons and use them safely so I knew she was going to kill him and I was more worried about never seeing her again but if my father wasn’t over there she would’ve killed him but my father answered the door to a 5 foot 4 100 pounds soaking wet mom with her rifle ready to shootđŸ€·đŸŒâ€â™€ïž So many people tend to trust family members to and unfortunately some aren’t who they portray themselves to be. he fought in Vietnam at 18-19 years old whose real father abandoned him and he was an alcoholic who was abusive. My mom didn’t leave him until I was 14 and he went and moved in with his brother who molested me and I didn’t hear from him for 8 years. Trauma. Now I’m 39 never married and no children. I was diagnosed at 25 again with PTSD and I started having panic attacks so I was diagnosed with panic attack disorder and anxiety is a terrible thing I will probably have to battle it for the rest of my life but I will bc I’m not a quitter and never ever will be

I think its important when talking to kids and asking questions to keep it light at first. If you ask "why do you think your uncle is weird"? Ask this while doing the dishes, flipping thru a magazine etc. If you sit them down an get really serious it makes them scared an they shut down. Once you get some answers the time for serious will come but these sick people take time grooming children an getting them to open up will take time as well. Staying with my crazy aunt growing up, I was extremely over exposed as a child!!! As young as 12 years old!!!! So I am SUPER picky about where my children are allowed to stay. Even IF it IS family! I know it seems harsh, but I do not let my daughter even stay at friends houses (she’s 8 right now). I just know how cruel the world can be and unless and until I know the parents WELL, she won’t be staying with any friends. They can come over but she will be staying home!!!

Yes!!! We're the same way with my niece! They moved into a new home and the neighbors have a daughter around her same age and they would go back and forth in playing at each other's houses. Well one day the little stopped coming over and my niece went over there and asked if she wanted to play and the little girl was like my parents don't want me playing at your house, we can only play here. My brother and SIL were like uh heck to the NO! Like they talked to my niece and she said that the dad was kind of weird, they have an open dialogue with her and asked her the correct questions, no he never tried anything, but still I'm happy that they trusted her and her instinct that something is off with the dad. There's a lot of sick people out there, I pray that parents trust their kid's instincts and respect their boundaries.

Yes keep doing this! I had an online friend when I was 14/15 and she was great but we lived like 3 hours from eachother. I went to stay with her a few times. First two times were fantastic and it lured me and my parents into a false sense of security. The third time, her dad took advantage. I was far from home and thank god I had the worst stomach bug of my life as that night he'd told me I was going to stay in his bed and I 'wasnt going to tell him what to do in his own house'. I went home the next morning and I have never been more relieved to leave somewhere. As bad as it was (SA) it definitely would have been worse (R). I have 2 kids now and I absolutely don't want them to be in a similar situation, no matter how nice their friend is.

Even though I was a single mom, I nurtured a very close relationship with my daughter so she could talk to me about anything and still is as an adult now too. I was very lucky to have the village to help my raise her as well. She had both sets of grandparents, an uncle, and me who were always present at everything she did (sports, music, plays, etc.). I also made friends with her best friends parents and her friends so that any of them could talk to me about anything or my daughter could talk to her best friends parents if she didn't feel comfortable coming to me. I'm so grateful for my village because I really do think this helped keep her safe, but also it helped become a very well rounded, caring, and wonderful adult that she is today. Keep watch over your babies and keep that open conversation with them. If you show that you will listen and make a comfortable environment then you children will feel comfortable sharing things with you when something doesn't seem right. Think of a triangle when you think of this type of thing or even of people with addiction problems. At the top pointy part of the triangle is the person doing the thing, going down the sides of the triangle you have different levels of belief. For instance, the people right near the the point know what's happening but don't say anything about it, in fact support that person. Going further down the sides of the triangle people may know something happenimg but are not sure what, but they're still being supporters. At the bottom people Don't know anything's happening so they accidentally support the person at the top doing the thing. Across the bottom line of the triangle are where the victims are. It called triangulation. Every abuse person has thier triangle of friends and supporters. ( PS there are other things in therapy that are called triangulation but with a different meaning)

I have to live in a constant state of paranoia now that I won’t let my children be babysat, I won’t allow sleepovers. They don’t go to the park without me. We live in a sick world!

Sick and evil world. When you can't go to a church, concert, school, or anywhere and feel safe, that's bad,!

Those interviews were scary to watch, but we,as,parents, need to hear this. We can't let our guard down for a second. As appropriate privacy goes a long way. And I agree,we need to work hard to have a close, loving, and trusting relationship with our children. If we don't a predator will. Thanks for this video,Christina. Sorry to hear about your parents absenteeism, but you are doing better with your own.💖😊
