    17,500mph is about 3 times faster then a bullet being shot from a gun. It truly is amazing how these rockets can withstand the amount of pressure from the air.

    My nephew worked at Tesla doing something called machine vision. One thing I'm curious about is how does the booster end up findings Landing pad? GPS is fairly accurate, but is there an optical system to guide it to the Target Circle

    • @dunnyzed6953
      @dunnyzed6953 Před měsícem +2

      The booster knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the booster from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is.

    I wish they wouldn’t reference 17,500 mph escape velocity and in the same breath tell us to ‘look at the stage one telemetry speed’ in the lower left corner -- which has the speed in kph.

    Very nice video. Entertaining and educational . Where is the center of gravity for the descending booster? Must be near the engines ; no? How heavy is the CMG and where is it located. Would it be plausible to make a large constant turning fuel pump turbine that also provided gyroscopic stability. It would eliminate several pumps, simplify the rocket and may be easier to make one pump than the 30 pumps of the booster. Well it's actually 60 isn't it. So you'd need 2 XX-large pump/gyros one fuel and one oxidizer.
