The fact that video game music is now being performed by some of the most talented musicians in the world, in the most prestigious concert halls in the world, is honestly wonderful. This was an incredible performance of the song, too.
Proves other fact, that back then game developers were highly educated people, not this corporate morons that care only selling crap to the masses and dunno nothing about culture...
@@erickmarquez506 that’s a lil harsh
It will only become more common. The video game industry has literally saved the orchestra. Films have almost entirely stopped using them, it's all electronically produced music.
This is a great comment!!
@@ooooswain i don't think that is true. Maybe smaller budget movies
Never actually thought a Final Fantasy song would be played at such a concert as this. It showcased other beautiful music like Batman Suite and Beauty and the Beast Suite, but to have this gorgeous song played?! 😍
Funny how mozart and beethoven have been real quiet since ff8 came out w its ost...
You know reading comments such as this it kinda makes you wish that time travel was possible and you could actually travel back in time and show great composers of history modern day classics such as this.
It would be kinda awesome of you could hand Nobuo Uematsu and other modern artist a page of with their greatest numbers on with comments from Mozart and Beethoven and other such composers.
You could just imagine what it would say :P
@@Erikjust I dream of the same thing! That would be AMAZING
@Aprouzen Would it be though i think most if not all of the instruments used here also existed back in Mozarts day.
i don´t think it would be as much taking a m4 carbine gun and show it to soldiers who are using muskets, but more of going back and showing the inventor of the steam engine what his engine was really capable off.
@Aprouzen Mozart was born in 1756 and died 1791.
I am by no means a master of the names of the different instruments or music history and real professor might give my statements a D- or an F, but lets see
Violin was invented in early 16th century.
The french horn is an old instrument but the version we know today was introduced in 1664
The bassoon was invented probably in the mid 1700 so Mozart would have had it or an early version of it at the very least.
The clarinet was also invented around 1698
The flute is ANCIENT around 30.000 to 40.000 years ago so Mozart would DEFIANTLY have had that.
The large "violine" might be Cellos which was invented in 1660 so Mozart would have had those as well.
The harp is from 2500 BC so Mozard would have had those as well.
The trombone was invented in the 1500 century even the ones used here so Mozart would have had access to those as well.
kettle drums 6th century AD so Mozart would have had access to those as well.
the cymbal also 6th century so Mozart would have had access to those as well.
He would even have had access to female singers as they began to be accepted in 1607.
The only instrument i can see that he wouldn´t have had access to would have been the Tuba as it wasn´t invented before 1835.
Still even without the tuba, i think he would have been able to reproduce this to some degree.
Sure it might have sounded a little bit different as you say, he wouldn´t have had access to industrially made instruments, but his musicians of that time would certainly have known how to tune their instruments to sound as good as possible.
So at the very least he would have been able to get VERY close to how this sounds and some musically expert of Mozarts time period MIGHT be able to suggest an alternative to the Tuba.
Haha usually CZcams comments are a bit dry, I like this
what I love about Maestro Nubuo Uematsu's music is that every instrument shines
I have to say this live version is the best. Better than distant world
My wig has been snatched right off. Absolutely amazing
This music can independent from the game, its the legend by itself.
So True...
FF8 opening theme song is the best theme song in FF series. Hope square enix if they make a FF8 remake. Make sure they include this iconic theme song
> one winged angel, sorry I do agree Liberi Fatali is such a fucking amazing music, I do absolutly love it, but literally nothing can beat OWA from FF7
@@Mertna Dancing Mad.
@@Mertna debatable. Caius theme is also very nice but not recognized because people are afraid of FF 13 2 after 13. But I read once that the composer worked 3 months on it because they said either it is better than one winged angel or you don't leave this room anymore. It has several versions and I love them too.
I never actually played FFVIII but this song is really one of the best videogame intro musics out there :')
This is ff 8
@@PekebunMager oops i knew. I made a typo
Play FF8 because it is one of the best video games ever....
Epic. This song is pure epicness. Totally chills. Congrats, what a great performance!
Questo video è una ottima risposta a tutti quelli che sostengono che i videogiochi non hanno alcune valore artistico.
Everyone at 3:11: "lol wtf is a final fantasy and why is there eight of them?"
lol...one of my favorite pieces written by the God Nobuo San...and they don't know wtf it is...lol...or why there are 8 of them...lol
Square was on the edge of bankruptcy when the first version was published, they thought it would be their last game.
Square soft had the clever idea of giving you a free game with the music you were buying.
This theme is timeless.
It's so cool seeing this music I know so intimately performed by actual people, note by note
凄い!素晴らしすぎる🎵
It is a strange juxtaposition to consider all the children who enjoyed this music on their play stations, and then seeing all these fancy people in their tuxedos and gowns who probably spent a good amount on a ticket to hear the same music.
I can feel the energy years later from another continent wow
this and star wars dual of the fates are imo the best modern classical pieces still on this day
best version i've ever heard
Chills, man. Literally chills up and down my spine.
Excellent performance, excellent record.
I love this so much. It's amazing to hear it performed like this.
this performance has the essence of de video game song. The best !
fvcking beautiful! fvcking beautiful! fvcking beautiful! FVCKING BEAUTIFUL!!!
I’m so peanut butter & jealous of everyone who got to be a part of this
3:01 I'm seriously disappointed, where's the final piano note? 😡
LOL, I thought the same
Me too, i was waiting for it 😢
Very nostalgic and still chills scared my bones when I'm hearing this, the assassination mission of the Sorceress Edea.
This place look so beautiful!
What a great piece to play!!!!!! I love this from FF8, probably one of the few best openings to FF game ever. JOB WELL DONE TO THIS SYMPHONY!!!
Una canción épica y muy recordada por los fanáticos
Think that Mozart himself would loved that one ;)
Absolutely breathtaking!
I wonder if the audience played the game xD Lucky for them good music can be enjoyed by anyone :D
Ma in Italia mai ste cose eh? Meraviglioso
I wonder if any of them there actually ever played the game.
Right? I'd be out there on the violin cheesing so hard if I got to be a part of this and loved the game.
Some of them, now 50 would be late 20s- early 30 when this came out.
Amazing you cant not be inpressed. Pure epic.
Best opening of all FF games
best opening of any videogame DEWD!
Sometimes i wonder how songs like this or one winged angel would be received by an actual 19th century public
Considering how harbinger-esque both sound, likely the composer would be burned at the stake 👀sadly
@@justinellenbecker3057 some ballets had pretty heavy and dramatic soundtracks too tho but i get whay you mean xD
Great Performance!
To this day, no one's done Liberi Fatali better than the London Philharmonic, but this is a very admirable effort. This was played just a little too slowly and is lacking the final note.
dafuq?! The missing piano note at the end is troubling lol other than that, it was great though.
The best composer in the world is Nobuo Uematsu
The chills....
HOW AWESOME IS THIS
Looks like I'm starting a new FF8 play through!
Superb!
Another world music, really.
okay i am crying
greater final fantasy intro and song
Final fantasy VIII
Is my childhood game
bravooooo
Always preferred this over One Winged Angel, but it's weird hearing without the sword clashing and thunder.
FFVIII remastered brought me here
At the end!!! Im so pissed people are clapping... ITS NOT YET FINISH!!!
Funny how FFXIII is the credited game.
Eh no? It says FFVIII
crowd obviously don't know the true end of the song......plebs
I wish i could hear it here in Hamburg.
Tbh the people in the audience didn't know to honor it.
Uncultured audience. They didn't wait till the VERY END. Very rude
