Just wonderful! It's a very difficult piece to play. I wish they'd shown the percussion section since there's so much going on there. It bothered me a tiny bit that the audience gave out with what seemed to me to be somewhat unenthusiastic applause, like they couldn't really take "cartoon" music very seriously. They should check out Carl Stalling's music.😀

FYI, this was Danny Elfman's first orchestral piece. His other music, like PEE-WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE, were on keyboards. After this, he moved on to grand yet creepy orchestral scores.

Anne Francis may be the unsung hero of the movie. If Alta, Anne, had not fallen in love and decide to go back to Earth. The monster, from Morbius id, would have vaporized the ship as it was taking off. It was beauty that killed the beast. Its another reason Of course, who couldn't have fallen hook line and sinker into love with her. I was also in love with the beautiful and talented Anne Francis.

Nyah's song only needed the flamenco feeling to be perfect, the first 5 minutes are simply spectacular.

It is a strange juxtaposition to consider all the children who enjoyed this music on their play stations, and then seeing all these fancy people in their tuxedos and gowns who probably spent a good amount on a ticket to hear the same music.

Watching this in ‘2024 at 41years old thinking how absolutely privileged we were to have had these films woven into the very fabric of our youth. Thank you Danny Elfman, Tim Burton, James Horner and many more for bringing magic to my childhood.

Sitting in the theater back in 2018, the moment I heard the strings at 2:42, I had a really strong feeling that this score was going to win an Oscar. It was the only time I felt that way about any piece of film music, and it was nice to be right.
