I like how when Judson plays the piano it often looks like he doesn't know what's coming next and is just trusting some sort of intuition to take him there.
😁calculated guess from trained ears I guess!
Jamming
His playing posture is like Schroeder from Peanuts, and it's awesome
He knows music theory, it's not intuition it's knowing what notes fit in the key :)
Yeah no magic @@MrDmadness
"Listen up, Tool!" favorite thing I've heard in a LONG time!
😂😂😂 same 😂
Reflection and Parabol both have some great meditative qualities.
It's only a minute long but eon blue apocalypse is one of my favorite parts ALL of tool. So meditative shit, wish there was a longer version
Also reflection and especially parabol+parabola are super bangers
Try The Holy Trinity ...Disposition, Reflection, and Triad czcams.com/video/VkQraJHabDQ/video.htmlsi=zBU-HSILlocy8Mj9
Always love a bit of Tool and Judson's invariably spot on with his analysis of their stuff. Would be interesting to see what he makes of Hooker With a Penis now he's got a few of their more traditional songs under his belt.
The meditation songs he wants to listen are in Lateralus (Disposition,Reflection,Triad), 10000 days (Intension, Right in Two) ænima(pushit, H., third eye) and basically the whole fear inoculum
Absolutely, would really love to hear his opinion on disposition, reflection, pushit and third eye
I support this
Pushit the live version
Would LOVE to hear Judson's take on the trinity (Disposition/Reflection/Triad)!
Salival's Pushit!
Its wild that piano has outlived all trends, from the Lyre to the Harpsichord. Forever the best instrument
I don’t think it’s accurate to say the piano outlived the harpsichord, it replaced it.
@@addisonshinedown yeah, 'piano harpsichord' was an evolution.
Judson without listening to music - moves around
richard without listening to music - doesn't move
judson listening to music - sits motionless
richard listening to music - let's play airdrums, air base and air guitar
I think reacting to animals as leaders would be greatly appreciated by both yall. Such great musicianship in that band, and so much to mull over and talk about. Lots of worthy songs to listen to too.
I agree
They were phenomenal live with Dream Theater and Devin Townsend last year.
I believe they did Animals as Leaders "The Brain Dance " , there is a video if you search the channel
Musical masturbation
Abolishing the idea of "good" and "bad"! That's a version of black and white thinking which is a cognitive distortion. Some of us do it more often than others. Kudos, Judson, for trying to move away from that type of thinking. It's not easy (I'm still working on it myself), but you got this!
Right in two is one of my favorite Tool songs
Lol the Danny Carey impression at 9:50 was so funny
Watching Judson play the piano makes my back hurt.
the chemistry of these two are addicting to watch. Love your stuff
I love these dudes. They synergize so damn well.
Danny Carrey is probably the only drummer I can never follow on drums. But goddamn can he drum. Always a treat to listen to but frustrating to imitate.
This is the first song I ever heard from Tool, Then I went down the rabbit hole.
Damn you Danny Carrey...damn you.
Fun Judson reaction...again.
Thank you Richard.
No fault, none to blame...
What an excellently human first video for me to see from your channel. Glad you seem to be enjoying Tool, Judson.
You two are so cute together. The way you relate to each other is so cool. Love Tool maybe I need to listen to some classical too! Love your vids fellas. Keep up the good.work
I see schism like Judson, infact you can find the phrase "finding beauty in the dissonance" in lyrics, and even the song structure seem to rapresent the pieces fall apart and the dissonance in terms of musicality.
And they accent it with a dissonant chord right after the lyric. I love that bit of this song.
One of the best albums everrrrr!
You guys are enjoyably therapeutic to listen. You’re always open to discuss topics that go deep, touching everyone (who has the will and patience to listen). Thanks for sharing 💝🌀
I’m not a Tool fan but always loved this song. Good choice
Funny this is my least favorite Tool song and I still like it.
HUUUUUUUH@@windog551
people confuse me and surprise me so much sometimes hahha hoooww? haha
12:30 LOL. I wonder if any artists ever watch these wonderful reaction videos!
@@aWOKEn1445 Some do, from time to time you see coments of artists/bands on reaction videos.
@@lurgoyff Cool!
With current technology our communication has never been more widespread, yet we are more divided and lonely that ever before.
Get out of the house, and go to a pub on regular times.
You will make friends.
I'll go 4 times a week. minimum 🙂
@@petejung3122 I’m trying to stop drinking
okay , that make sense.
I drink, but only on social bases, never had a problem with it.
At home I don;t drink a drop, unless friends are coming over.
I Find alcohol healthy for the mind.
It takes away your edge, you more relaxed, having fun and being social.
I need this social behaviour, it's in our genes, we have been doing this for thousands of years, it's a human thing to do so. So for me it's okay, but everyone need to make his own stands on that, Hope you have a wonderfull evening.

@@theologyofthebody2870have you tried not being lame?
He needs to hear the most recent album. It's pretty close to what he was asking for, compared to their earlier stuff.
Yes! The lyrics during that meditative, airy part you like are “cold silence has a tendency to atrophy any sense of compassion” so I also interpret it as communication being a key to keeping that atrophy from happening.
You guys always puts a smile on my face when I watch your videos and how you guys talk at the end of the music.
Hey guys, any Tool is good Tool! Your banter at the end is priceless, great reaction most usually!
Agreed. The early reactions weren’t so great but this one was epic. Good job guys.
I remember when this song/video came out on MTV for the first time and I thought to myself what the hell did I just watch/hear? It stuck with me as I never heard anything like it before.
Hey Judson they have already a meditation album. Fear inoculum is so relaxing, especially the song DECENDING. BTW I really appreciate the well reflrected Analyse sections after each song. Chapeau Guys!
The bass line in Invincible is also so meditative. Hearing it live was absolutely incredible. Also Culling Voices 😱
Great couples therapy session today. Oh and the the song was good to. Lol. Loved it all guys.
Love the channel!! Saw TOOL last night in Atlanta. Amazing!!!
Very cool!
When I saw TOOL in 2019, I never stopped jumping. They played Schism, Aenima, 46&2, etc. But when I saw them in 2021, it was totally different. More of their meditative stuff. A lot of us stayed seated, eyes closed. It was more of a sonic experience.
This reaction was very good, specially for richard in the end😅😅 more tool please, can you react to culling voices or right in two ? Thank you
Right in Two is a 10/10 song for me 👌
That was really fun to watch and very insightful - thanks for that!
Thank you guys for the great breakdown of the song meaning, it's so interesting for a non native speaker like me. I already loved Tool but this adds a new layer of meaning and deepness I love so much. Never found anything quite good as what you do so far around CZcams, keep going guys!
This has to be one of my favourite Tool 🔨 songs of all time. I just love how the times signatures change in verses and the chorus.
Do the holy trinity. Disposition, Reflection and Triad from Lateralus. All three in one sitting, it'll be a long video but that's your meditative song.
you guys are hilarious and always bring a smile to my face!
This is timely since I saw them last night in Atlanta, great show as always.
On the subject of prog metal bands doing really laid back, meditative versions of their music -- The Contortionist have done this. They have this album "Language", which they reworked into "Language (Rediscovered)" back in 2015. Really cool stuff.
Great recommendation! Thanx a lot!!
I love watching Judson react to these songs, seeing how his body physically reacts to the beats and the sounds cuz he seems to really feel them on a very deep and unique level. I wonder if he has synesthesia.
i listened to this for the first time when it was released whilst trippin' balls on mushies on a beach in Thailand... it has remained as one of my top 5 albums of all-time ever since 😎🤘
Respect & Peace ☘
Schism is such an iconic Tool song, the whole concept of communication, is the core of all relationships.
On a side notes, my dudes, get yourself some Lovebites, specially Swan Song, with the Chopin intro, live on 2020, im sure tou both will enjoy that piece
Discovered that Dylan song off the back of a Daniel Lanois interview last year. The song is incredible; powerfully emotive!!
Just discovered this channel, you two are great!
That actually lead to an interesting discussion.
Great one!
The way Tool fits each instrument and sound together like a puzzle is always amazing to me. Honestly I still hear new sounds each time I listen
I live this interpretation ❤
This was amazing to watch - liked and subscribed!
I see you hunched over that piano Schroeder.
I love your reactions, guys! I discovered your channel recently and I like your vibe. Piano intro and smooth transition to heavy stuff. It's nice to see that after the reactions to ,e.g., Nightwish's songs, a cover was made. This means that newly discovered music hits you just right.
I'm courius what you would say about something different, like a combination of japanese idols and metal. Let's say: Babymetal - Road of Resistance.
It may be a little weird, but that's part of the fun 😃
Havent even watched this one yet and already like it
Oh wow, look at this! I've been subbed for quite some time and I've always loved this channel but there was something about the production of the videos that just left something to be desired. I didn't even realize it but y'all kinda just stopped popping up in my suggestions for a while. All of a sudden today you're back and would you look at this? New cameras ay? New layout, new everything! This is a fantastic change guys. You're doing something right. Looking forward to seeing you guys grow towards a million subs and beyond! It's a great channel, happy I discovered you guys when I did.
Great reaction guys (as always). Schism is one of Tool's top ten songs for me personally.
If you'd like to hear something meditative/psychedelic from Tool (or at least 3/4 of them) that's not on any of their albums I recommend listening to "The Witness" written by Adam Jones (Tool's guitarist). It's actually a promo song/video for Gibson and it's pretty good.
Is that a baby photo of Judson to the left of Richard on the cabinet, Oh how cute Judson. Keep up the good work fellas
Good eye! But, thats actually a photo of my son. WAY better looking than me!
Great measures!
I had to listen to this one a couple times before I really liked it. Super proggy.
I love watching someone hear me music and see what they think and feel when first listening especially to TOOL. Maynard is the goat.
Richard! After the whole mediation chat , you need to show him Reflection and Disposition!!! He'll love those tracks
Judson looked mesmerised during this one.
That little opening piece was really nice. I think I heard a little line from the new Year song, but with some extra sauce. Really pretty. Piano just really does it for me.
The light cant exsist without the dark. We're on the level of Kingdom Hearts now.
The band Loathe did a whole ambient record and they're a very cool heavy guitar music group! Highly recommend checking them out.
this has been your best video yet
Thank you
Ah , the song that got me into Tool. Good times
As always, special thanks for Tool, guys! 🌀🌀🌀🙏🙏🙏
Now this is a reaction
I like your pieces fit :)
The beauty of the song is the veritable interpretation of it.
Lateralus came out in 2001. Just clarifying. History is history.
Yeah first time I heard it was the summer of 2001. I’ll never forget it because it was an important moment in time for me.
"Gonna slap you with a drug test" 😂😂😂😂😂😂 F**k sake, that was a knee slapper
I would love to to see you react to Tool Schism Orchestral Arrangement, its just as amazing :)
I wish I could like this more than once.
Proceed, Richard!!!
That cattle decapitation t-shirt 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Keep up the good work! Time for "Jimmy" or perhaps "Undertow." Proceed Richard!
Love this.
May I suggest, Archspire - drone corpse aviator ❤🎉
Dope Intro
Tools 10000 Days album puts me into a trance.. kind of a meditation album.. the newest album maybe more so, but I haven't heard it front to back as much
If you close your eyes after a few mins youll see an optical illusion of the silhouette of the guy at piano
...every TOOL album IS a meditation...
...sweet summer child...
Brought a smile to my face when I saw the title and l left with an even bigger one after that end talk 😂
If you want to meditate, do Disposition,Reflection,Triad (All three songs one after another in one video)
There is a string quartet tribute to Tool out there. I use to play it all the time back in the day. Same for APC.
Great Measures
I play bass in a Tool tribute band and honestly the parts of the song that sound hard are easy. It’s really the transitions that throw things off.
I play a bunch of tool on guitar, but lower ( drop c on 7 string) and you are 100% right, the time signatures and changes are the hardest parts
“Reflection”and “disposition”, on the same album, are 2 songs I used as meditation/study music
The main triplet riff is played on the A and D string on the guitar. The hammer on triplet is 0-10-12 on the A, then 10-9-12 on the middle D string with an open A note in between the 10, 9 & 12 on the D.
Playing being his back lol. Judson, I hope you enjoy Tool. If not, it’s all good. It’s just so fun and so great personally. The Patient is my favorite from Lateralus. It’s nothing crazy, but it’s such a great song. I love how they repeat and Danny just takes it away.
The song is so angry and so positive at the same time too. It’s worth a listen even if you don’t film it.
1997’s Time Out Of Mind is a great album. One of the better Dylan albums well after his peak.
I am really looking forward to the Parabol/Parabola reaction.
This guy is such a character, I love it 😂
Judson should hear Tool - Disposition/Reflection/Triad if you're looking for meditative Tool. He's not your average musician, I think we can safely put him in the deep end of Tool, he's already learned to swim.
You're so cool. :)
Spiral out, keep going 🌀 🌀 🌀...
HE IS IN!! i mean judson!!
ok but why does the piano guy look like Matt Smith from his side profile
you should do the cover of schism where the whole orchestra is playing the song which has an absolutely beautiful piano part!!!!!
I got to see them perform this last Friday. They were amazing live! Gotta say though, as much as I enjoy their music, their overall sound kinda wore on me after a while 😂 I tend to listen to them when I'm doing something else (driving mostly) so it was a different experience just focusing on them and the music.
Rusted Roots drummer did an album of meditative ensembles. TOOL should do the same, I agree.
you should do Porcupine Anesthetize Live, or some solo Steven Wilson stuff
