Froth pak gives better results which in part is due to the mixing nozzle being far superior to what is used here.

You're not wrong. The price for spray foam insulation across the industry is quite high - as an upfront cost, but when you consider the total cost of the product over 15-20 years and the energy savings during those years then you'll see that spray foam is a tremendous choice.
To insulate the average U.S. home with spray foam costs around $2500 vs. with Fiberglass Batts which averages around $600.
Here are some Pros and Cons of Spray Foam:
      Advantages of Foam Insulation
      - Helps lower utility costs
      - Insulates 50% better than traditional products
      - Provides air sealing for a more comfortable home
      - Protects against moisture
      - Works well for noise reduction
      Disadvantages
      - Higher upfront cost than traditional insulation
      - May take longer to install than conventional products

Would this spray foam be good to use on an inner ceiling under a flat roof? I have a flat roof porch just off my master bedroom and underneath the flat roof is my tv room. I just got my flat roof redone this summer and they used insulating roof material and sealed it on the exterior. It was leaking into the tv room underneath it and soaked all the old fiberglass insulation from probably the late 70's or 80's and caused a huge hole in the drywall ceiling. I plan to re-drywall the ceiling after I insulate. My concerns with this spray foam product is how will I know if there is ever a leak again?

      Julia, thanks for your inquiry.
You have asked a very good question: How will you know if there is a roof leak if closed-cell spray foam (ccSPF) is sprayed to the underside of a roof deck?
The simple answer is that your roof will not leak if the underside of the deck is sprayed with closed-cell SPF because it is itself a water proof barrier.
The only way that a roof insulated with ccSPF could leak would be if there was significant physical damage to the roof such as a tree branch penetrating the roof covering (shingles, etc.), waterproof membrane, deck, and the foam. If there is damage to the roof covering and the roof deck is exposed, the deck itself could become wet, but there would be no leakage to the interior of the structure. As with any roof, periodic inspection of the exterior of the roof for damage is recommended.
A number of scientific studies have been undertaken that demonstrate that ccSPF properly applied to the underside of roof decks presents "no known known risks." A nice summary of a US DOT Building America study performed by the Building Science Corporation (www.buildingscience.com/) can be found at: www.energy.gov/sites/prod/files/2013/11/f5/case_study_spray_foam_application.pdf. The complete study is here: www.nrel.gov/docs/fy14osti/60431.pdf.
Using ccSPF to insulate the underside of the roof deck has other advantages beyond providing a waterproof roof, such as increased comfort and lower heating and cooling costs.
We wish you well on your project. If you have any additional questions or are interested in purchasing product, please do not hesitate to contact Foam Supplies at info@foamsupplies.com or visit our website at foamsupplies.com to find a local sales representative.

Get in the pros, DIY sprayfoaming is not a good idea. I've been into a few properties to repair DIY work because the foam has shrunk away from the timbers making it about as good as a chocolate teapot.
