    I have had my own company for 55 years now and I have both the 190's series and 200's series from the start to the new 194s and 201tcm. Those 194s aren't for homeowners. those little guys keep up with the 201s. id rather buy 2 194s instead of a 201 and have two climbers climbing instead of one if I was just starting out. smart choice to do because you can get 2 saws instead of one for the same price. don't get me wrong I love my 201s and they do last a bit longer but the 194s are a hell of a saw as well. just my 2 cents. awesome video sir.

      I have a question Mr Scott seems you know your stuff I am a home owner but I want the best top handle saw there from stihl is the 201 the top of the line? And how long will it last? I have alot of work to do around the house and I mean alot!! Money is no problem! I was told the newer stihl top handle stihl saws are junk do you agree? Or that's just people talking and don't have a clue what they're talking about?

  • @IowaDugan
    @IowaDugan Před rokem +2

    Great review! I’m considering a 201 but wonder if I should go with the 194 because of my usage of the saw.
    If I am a homeowner who has a lot of hours clearing trees and capable of rigging trees for removal, which saw would you recommend? Every couple years I rent a lift and remove dead wood from trees to keep my trees healthy. Also I plan to use it for light ground work throughout the year cutting stuff up because of its light weight. In addition, I have a couple of elms and maples that are a risk that I’ll need to remove in the future.

    Nothing about the 193/4’s being a clamshell
    And the 200/201’s are jugged. So you can delete the base gasket but guys that spend this amount of coin on a clearly price gouged saw need to maintain the warranty.
    The 194 is carbed and the 201m is auto tune. So you don’t have to adjust a tiny screw you get the driver for anyway if it’s cold hot or elevation changes. Yeah… y b bothered with that… men did it for over 50 years… government and socialism and now a saw is $300 more go figger

And even though that's even harder on the budget, it's worth it if you're wanting the lowest fatigue for safe climbing. It's not hard to justify paying $1K for a strong Husqvarna battery top handle if you'll make it back the first day you use it while going home with less fatigue.
