Trying to Do the Human Error Quest After The Main Quest (1 of 3): Let's Play Fallout 4

This quest is so well named. You see once you've completed the Main Quest in Fallout 4, the Human Error quest breaks totally.
Now this makes some logical sense because of the nature of the quest, but I don't think it was intentional. There certainly are plenty of Synths around after the Main Quest has been settled in any fashion, so the quest should have been able to go forward.
Believe me, it can't. And I had no idea.
