  • I had a ton of fun building this portable camping chair. I want to revisit this build again soon and see if I could make a smaller one for backpacking. Let me know what you would do different or add.

Love the design! Do you think if you made the seat out of webbing as well that the CA glue would hold the webbing together? I haven’t worked with CA glue yet.

Jay Bates also made something similar, but with curved rails. His is all wood, so I think your woven back would be more comfortable.

Gorgeous chair, I love the function, the oak, the webbing is brilliant. Btw I checked out Western Rise, sadly it’s men only :( I’d buy a pair for myself but ik they won’t fit. They look comfortable and the waterproof along with being easy to clean had me sold. Maybe one day they’ll eventually make a women’s version of these pants

Good video do you think I could get away with using finished nails and wood glue instead of screws I only say that because I've got a bunch of finish nails hang around I'd like to stay out of home depot if I can Always see something shiny and come out with more than I want

Such a smart idea but it’s so low. Great video though

Thanks! It’s a little low, I would definitely like to revisit this build soon and make some alterations

Really cool design but instead of making your boards thinner and weaker you should always want to make them thicker and stronger to hold bigger heavier people and for them to last longer because those boards look so skinny they honestly look like they would only hold children or very small 100 lb. women only but either way cool video!

Cool vid, so I finally go'ogled the latest by Hyezmar and got his book, or known as Woodworking Bible as well. It’s pretty solid, there are some gems in there that are worth a look, and at no cost, it's a no brainer :)
