Nice Tool Haul Mr Ratchetman there were a few junky ratchets in the pile of tools but the rest of the tools were good tools .. Great buy on the Williams Ratchet looking forward to the tear down video .. The Cutmaster Knife was a great buy and in great shape .. As for the mystery wrench with the flat bladed screwdriver end it could be part of a tool set that was in a car over a hundred years ago also it appears to be a very low end Generic type of a Herbrand wrench with very little marking ... Great Video Mr Ratchetman Bust out the 6 pack of Knickerbocker Beer and enjoy your weekend

Yeah that’s what I was thinking with that flat blade wrench. Most likely a kit tool. We don’t have Knicherbocker around these parts but I did by some bottles of German wheat beer 🍺

I have several of those inexpensive Japanese ratchets mostly from childhood. One of them I cut down the handle and put some translucent blue tubing over the handle and made a stubby out of it. Another one, the 2 piece style like you have there with the separate head and handle, I cut the whole handle off sanded it nice and round then added a piece of black rubber hose around the outside and that's my "Thumbwheel Ratchet".
The Fake Craftsman should make for a fun teardown video.

That Husky ratchet looks a lot like the one I inherited from my grandpa. I assume Husky is older than Home Depot, so I wonder where they were sold prior to that? My grandpa lived in a small town with most likely nothing but True Value or some mom and pop independent tool store, definitely not a Home Depot.

      hardware store and such.
made by New Britain in the 70's & 80's, definately pre Home Depot.
I belive the NB / Killness ratchets were continued a little bit after the buyout by Stanley very early into the HD Husky days, but it soon went to the Stanley professional maybe US made maybe a lie ratchets.

Do you remember Jewel? The door to door salesman? My Grandmother always bought from them because she could not get out. Anyway Jewel sold HUSKY USA TOOLS back in the 70s and that's where my Dad got his HUSKY USA tools

I recently picked up the same Vlchek (I pronounce it Vill Check) wrench. I also have two 7/16"x3/8" and I just really like the size, look and the way they feel in my hand. The Superratchet will clean up nice.

They’re on every other month on the 4th Thursday of that month. Next one is on August 22 at the Frank Brush Barn. Start time around 5pm but a lot of people get there before that.

Good luck getting that threaded collar ring off the Williams Superratchet. I hope for your sake that it plays nice and doesn’t cause you to exercise profane language
