I tell my family all the time in Jamaica, although there's a lot more opportunity in america, it takes a shit load of money and hard work to just survive

I had the same feelings when i got here wanted to go back home.
He had the same experience I had when I came from Africa at the age of 10.

oh believe me we tell people not to come here, but its hard to see americans on vacation and think we have it better, most just use that credit card and then work all year to pay it down so they can use it again for a week in a different country ,

Never really heard of this Marley before now. His story is disturbing from the little information i could find.
Knowing he fathered children all over the place, did Bob not even take the time to make sure all of these children would be acknowledged in his will????
Bob Marley means alot to me personally. But for this son to grow up in poverty and to have, apparently, had to fight for scraps from his father's estate is beyond disgusting to me.
For you men who feel it's your god given privilege to father children from here to overseas.....do not forget that responsibility is directly attached to said "privilege". Every one of those children should be living JUST AS GOOD AS or BETTER than yourself.

I agree. He knew for a fact that he was about to die. There was literally no reason for him to not have created a will where he directly listed all of his kids as equal heirs.
His wife, mother & one of his baby mothers spend YEARS in court rooms fighting to get rights to his name & estate back from lawyers. His paperwork was so messed up that they never even got paid one cent from his early catalog until the mid 90s.
Greatest artist of all time IMO, but he left a big mess for his family & was very irresponsible in how he neglected the future well-being of his children on his deathbed. It would’ve take literally a couple of days to get a will properly written, edited & notarized
