- hey guys in this video we go from a roto-tiller and a bike to an awesome looking vintage motorbike. Using a briggs and stratton 5hp engine and a Canadian made "elite" bicycle! this motorized bike/motorbike goes around 30mph while also having plenty of torque to get me going. It uses a belt tensioner as a clutch that then goes to a chain drive to the rear wheel. If you liked this motorized bike be sure to check out the rest of the channel for mini bikes, go karts, gas scooters, motorcycles and of course, more motorized bikes! Thanks for watching!

looks like something a 1950s teenager would build in his barn, very cool style to it
I agree, makes me want to make one.
John Doe because building bikes makes you a real nigga 😎
Read "Harris and me" a book by Gary pulsan. (Estimate spelling.) Harris builds one in his yard lol.
@@woahglass49 NIGGA, INDEED....I guess that's GOOD???
Kids don't do things like that anymore, they are busy on Facebook, Snapchat, and eating tidepods
Damn that is one of the cleanest, most original builds I've ever seen. A true modern classic.
Awesome build! I would consider replacing that hand lever clutch with a foot pedal option that mated into a full foot platform) that locked down and then released with a cable running to a hand/thumb lever - that way you can have both hands on the handlebars while releasing the drive. Great job!
i've watched this video twice now. I just love seeing someone fit a tiller motor in an old bicycle. No kits, just creativity!
Absolutely brilliant, sounds just like a motorbike from the 1920s.
Excellent Cinematography!!!!! Finally a good you tube recommendation!
"I ran away from home at the age of 16 and started my own mobile welding business"
"my rig was my childhood bike with an old post hole auger engine I got for free from my job at home-depot. That and an alternator fixed in to power the sears Arc welder"
I'm late.
"If your welding sounds like bacon, you're probably alright. If it smells like bacon... "
One mans bacon may differ from anothers.
Totally crazy build. Best part was when you caught you shirt on fire. That was awesome.
That was a great build I really like the old fashioned style to it.
Thanks man
Mhm heha me two.😊
I like how you threw in the obligatory burnout. Huge style points from one gear head to another.
Great making-of video. Love old-timey motorized cycles. And great choice, making it all in one clip. Thanks for the upload.
The sound reminds me of those early 1900's motorcycles.
Well, the first motorcycles were just bike frames with motors so you aren't wrong.
@@nick-dm3if Yep.
Yea I remember back in 1898 me and my buds had those
@@misterman1371 Lmao this bike reminds me of the history channel series "Harley And The Davidons" You should check it out sometime; really good.
Super ouvrage
Dude words cannot Express. This video is gold.! Your classic and that bike makes me fear for your life. Well done bravo. Be careful bruhhhh.
thanks buddy!!
The video is shit, the bike is shit and this guy is shit. He ruined not only a good vintage rotary tiller, but a good vintage bicycle as well!
Predator engines are $99!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brand fucking new.
Daniel Ellis You're* classic.

@@tarstarkusz shut up man. This is HIS bike and he does WHATHEVER HE WANTS WITH IT. do you understand right?
As a long time biker your video reminded me of a lost, late friend who was killed on his HD. As a kid he became the "edger thief" as he would sneak around and then steal them for mini bike motors! He would install the motors, ride the piss out of it until it blew. Then he'd look around for another edger to steal.
RIP Slo-Joe
Modern steampunkery at its finest! Fantastic job, and the fact you sacrificed a layer or two of skin to The Gods of Fire guaranteed success!
That was Excellent, I really enjoyed that! Thank you !
God Bless!
J...
I have exact same engine laying around. I will definetly use your video as a guide to building my own. Great work!
for some reason this is like my fav video ever, the way that thing sounds at the end is fricken sweet!!
I built one of these a few years ago using one of those $100 ebay kits.If I knew how much fun it would be I would have built much sooner. I ride it all the time and the motor has proven very reliable. It does go thru tires pretty quick. I added a 3 gallon tank for range, fenders, triple tree forks, and some reproduction vintage lights. Even the Harley guys love it. I thought they would laugh me off the road.
Great job on the project. I always wanted to build one. I love that you used ingenuity and parts you had laying around the garage to complete the bike.
2 things.
1) Casually sez it all 'I don't know how it's gonna turn out' and it turns out pretty near darn perfect
2) Yung fellar tossing around that 5hp Briggs like it was nothin. Corn fed farm boy that's what he is, making damn good use of his spare time.
Nice machine, great vid.
Very nicely done. Looks and sounds great. I like the slip tensioner "clutch"
My grandpa built one of these and handed it down to us when we were 16, except for the belt tensioner was on the handlebars just like a clutch with a push-button cruise control lock. It was a twin-cylinder motor and so loud lol. You did a fantastic job bringing back memories of me and my grandpa, Thanks for that bro!
I subbed because you actually caught fire to make this happen, gotta respect that.
thats when i hit the sub button.
lol we've al caught fire at least once or twice.. lol
Wife: "Honey, would you rototill the garden while I work out? Hey, where's my rowing machine??"
Brian Meyer lmao!
Rowing Machine? I always called it a tiller.

@@michaelmorden8692 i called it a rotivator but that's because I missed it as a kid and called it that for most of my life lol

We built these as kids in the 60's. Called them Turd bikes. Did not have the fancy tools you have but they ran and we had lots of fun.
Thats awesome! I want one!
Get one of those 80cc kits, or you could get a 4 stroke version
That is soooo something I would build! Great job re-“cycling!!!!
Oh my God , I built one when I was 13 , 1974 , brazed a rim to the wheel and used a belt and pulley not even half as much work as this did 45 mph 2.5 hp Briggs and Stratton with a straight pipe, it attracted the Cops always
flathead59 yeah, couldn't get away with it in the UK 🤣.
First copper that saw you would confiscate it and have it crushed 😕.

Mine was a BMX with a 3HP Briggs I think it was 120(ish)CC it was not particularly fast, but had plenty of power for something put together by a goofy kid. (I was 12 at the time)

The choice of music was perfect. Best motor bike video I have ever seen. Great work my dude!
We don’t need the music
Okay, there's a first. Never heard anyone say 'miskalaneous'.
Give the guy a break. He's creative!
Surely he should be 'reative', he used all his c's earlier.
Popeye, the sailor. He’d say miskalaneous. Totally legit.

Tham dang Flamin idgits make us look smarterer.
accident ? what does this word mean ? is it on Wikapeadea thingy on the interweb ?
Oliver Motorized probably cost you between 50 and 100 bucks 🤔🧠
You probably had most of the components lying around. $40?
who cares how it cost , i got done , end of project ... next.
Just throwing this out there: you could have used a brake/clutch lever for the engagement of your drive pulleys. It would have allowed you to keep both hands where they should be.
I was thinking the same thing. I think he meant to keep the technology on the level of the rototiller though. Still, excellent craftsmanship and execution. You have to wonder what else is coming down the pike.
I like your ingenuity..! Instead of just buying an adequate engine you used what you already had lying around. Excellent.. :)
Brilliant build. Use what ya got. This was every boy's dream as a kid. But not many of us had welders and drill presses so some of the stuff we did was kinda dangerous. One little part back then could take a week cutting with a hacksaw and endless filling by hand. But this is so great to see because you made what you needed.
Cool how you crammed everything in there and made it work.
You re invented the 1905 motorcycle, it even sounds like a 1905 motorcycle.
Totally awesome. A work of functional art.
This is by far one of my favourite videos on this app. Well done!
Bro!! That's awesome!! I think it it jam up, and the best execution of craftsmanship and engineering l've seen on a custom duisaki. It's awesome, l love it!!
😆 👍👍 i like it! You sir are a true Gearhead!!! like i am. Nice job its like the early motor driven bicycles.
Nicely built bike. Very cool. Thanks for sharing.
Way to go, young man! Don't ever change.
Yes one video. It was a good one, not too long or short. Interesting. Thanks.
Thanks for the feedback!
Too fast for most people!
That's a beautiful bike there man
thanks man!
That’s what we made in the Fifties. Those days were great. We had to build our own motor bikes and Hot rods, couldn’t go out and buy things like that. Born in 1943 😁
How many miles per hour
That's how we made 'em in my day! Love seeing the belt on primary with tensioner clutch. Allows you to rev that Briggs at will..very nice job!
Awesome man! Enjoyed the video
Thanks for watching!
Bravo 👏 well done..except for the fire.
We used to build these 40 years ago on 20” bikes. No fancy tools back then.
Looks great! Music, video, bike! Great!
This is one of my favorite bike builds .
Man that's an awesome job . real Handy real crafty great job bro
Fantastic I smiled through this whole video way to go son
Thank you Oliver. Watching your chanel with joy. Cheers from Russia!
Great vision! Great, great job! Build All in one vid, the best kind!
Watching from New Zealand....great video... great editing!
We need 40,000 units, straight away, send to me in Auckland, to beat new fuel tax!
I want to build one now haha. But gosh darn I don’t have a shed anymore 😢
Haha, yes. I'm from down in Dunedin New Zealand. Problem is our dumb arse laws. This thing would have to be registered for road use, and a motorbike licence to ride.....due to it not being a "moped" and over 2kw output.
@Quirin I visited Germany a few months ago (coming from New Zealand) and I had to laugh when I saw the tiny little licence plates on the back of the Lime scooters! Never thought I'd see that. The German police must have good eyesight, those Lime licence plates are tiny!
Amazing stuff, that thing motors along well ! And you made the thing really nicely ;)
I love classical motorcycles, that's one impressive build. I have a pretty good ole 6.7 HP Tecumseh lawn mower engine and some old bicycles. I may try to put together something like that.
In the early 60s we used chrome rim rings and a belt for the drive. The rim was similar to what Golden Eagle (GEBE) uses but smooth and for standard fan belts vs their kevlar geared belts. The rim rings were from various older cars, maybe from the 40s. Rudely and crudely we mounted the engines with plywood or whatever metal we could find. I use to put mine on the front wheel, direct drive. Pedal to start, coaster brakes to stop. Yes they were crappy and dangerous but we were young. That was for one summer then we graduated to mini bikes, then Honda 90s and up, then Harleys. Luckily we all lived and so far made it to our mid 60s.
You have great skills young man. I imagine you will build some awesome stuff in your lifetime.
Great job. You need a bicycle speedo. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome build. Looks very vintage
It is so nice to see a young dude like you doing old school job ! Kudos to you bro !
What do the cops think about the bike?😁. You have a great aptatude for mechanical engineering, and Good fabrication and fittings skills. Many people think about doing these little projects and indeed may start it. But few see it all the way thru. Thanks so much for the intertainment as well.
Well done. 😁
otec fabrications tynagh I am convinced cops around my area, don’t care I’ve ridden past maybe police and never been pulled over. That said, I live and ride in a rural area! Thanks for the comment!
You remind me of the Wright brothers or the Harley Davidson originators. Good on you.
My thoughts exactly !!
Not a motor strapped to a bike, but rather a bike strapped to a motor. Your videos are the best, Mr. Oliver.
Very cool 😎.As a kid my frank I dreamed of motorizing our Schwinns! Good job.
First video I watch from your channel.. I'm amazed. Have a like and sub! Keep it up mah dude
Some people are mechanics and most ain't. Good job man!
This is good old American ingenuity, this is what happens when you get away from electronics. It is good to see others build something from nothing just to do it. Great video keep on building.
Great to watch and see this vintage style machine take shape and all in one video too. Looks really great fun to ride too, well done !
Congrats on the huge Sub bump brother! Consistency and you'll be bigger than me ;)

Courageous. I especially like the chain and belt guard 👍
Love it... nice raw look to it and it looks mean!
Cool build. Vintage I love it.
Dang my dude caught on fire lol
The video of you riding, and the sound the engine makes, reminds me of what it would have been like to ride a motorbike back in the early 1900's.
That's hell of a alteration! Very well done mate and I am so stoked.
Great, now who’s gonna till granny’s garden? Ever think of that? Hmmm?
It’s all fun and games until someone’s shirt catches on fire. 😉
Then it's f in hysterical.
That's the way to get it done!
Good job and nothing lacked in the video.
I love the synthwave, that's how I want to work in my future garage, thank you. Amazing video!
That's what we call a motorbike. Literally.
Motor is electric, engine is internal combustion
Yeah, but you don’t call a motorbike a engine-bike...
@@OK-ws7ti In Turkish we say "motor" to both
6:31 Not the most exciting part. 11:05 yes now you are to the exciting part! Great build!
laughed out loud at 11:38 when you went whippin' past the open field. great job!
Nice to see you able to re-purpose that equipment into something useful.
Why not just remove the left food pedal and put the belt pulley on the shaft?
Then you would have gears/speeds.
Find a centrifical, (centrifugal), clutch for it.
Jim Furr I’ve done that before but bicycle chain doesn’t do to well with the torque and it’s just not as reliable
Bicycle chains are made to handle the 1/4 HP of the average rider. This would work if you were using a motor from a chainsaw or weedwacker.
I keep hearing the bicycle chains can't take the load but I saw these motorized bikes in my youth doing just fine! The B&S Engine was mounted on two 2x4's that were clamped to the frame and had belt drive to a pulley on the left side, mounted to the pedal shaft. The belt was large enough to go from the engine to the lower pulley and up to another pulley that could be pressurized by the riders foot. The movable pulley was mounted to a 2x4 on the frame and went up enough to allow force to be applied by foot with a small bar extended on the pulley center axle. Worked just fine. Maybe chains were stronger in the early 60's?
@@jimfurr81 Maybe they were stronger. But that was long before I was born 😒
