Sometimes instead of taking me and my brother to school (like he was supposed to do) we would ask him to take us with him to work, because of that we would go to places in the middle of nowhere, meet a lot of people and see a LOT of wildlife. Once we spent the night in a farm which my grandfather were friends with the owner, and it was about 6 pm, and I asked them if I could play in the cornfield, and the owner said that every night there was a jaguar that would appear in the farm surroundings and it was very dangerous to go to the fields around that time. Minced garlic juice over the ring worm before bed. Will get rid of it almost over night. Depending on how many/size. But apply 2/4 nights and no more ring worm/s.
I have spent time in the Ecuadorian Amazon and what he is saying about these peoples abilities is spot on. They swim like fish, can climb trees, and not only run incredibly fast, but far… and COMPLETELY silent through the jungle. Also, Joe mentions the Huaorani and their feet. That was the tribe I was with for two weeks on our expedition… they did have feet far more webbed than ours and they are much wider as well
In Zimbabwe, in the Zambezi valley, is a tribe that has feet that are cleft, with only two toes. Their feet look almost like an istrich's feet. It is a genetic abnormality. The name of the tribe escapes me at the moment, but a simple Google will confirm what I have commented. When Kariba was being built the government was trying to clear the area to be flooded and this tribe was very resistant to keaving.
2 dudes sitting in Cali having a 3 hour conversation in English: "Its so wild that these people in Colombia are just speaking this language from Europe cos people came over and told them to, I mean, think about it!"
This is totally different. 1. Both dudes are white, they ancestors were probably European 2. They actually live in a society that’s close to European unlike the tribe that is TOTALLY different
I find it hard to believe these communities don’t know which country they live in. I have worked almost 15 years with many indigenous communities in Colombian Amazon and there are very few completely untouched tribes. Most rely of these communities have contact with the outside in some way or another, many through trade ( fish mainly ). A few companies fly old planes into these areas and buy fish 3 times a week and sell them in Putumayo or caqueta. Yes they live a subsistence lifestyle but they have clothes and aren’t what I’m sure most people are imagining as Indian tribes wearing close to nothing hunting and untouched. It’s just not the case. Certainly not the communities that converse in Spanish. The real remote tribes don’t speak Spanish at all. Anyway that’s my 2 cents
Portuguese and Spanish didn't just "stick". It was taught in schools built by religious missionaries. That's also why the former colonies have such a big religious presence to this day. The Portuguese even tried to spread Christianity to Japanese peasants but it was met with more resistance like is told in the great movie Silence
I'm also from the Amazon my country name is Suriname 🇸🇷🇸🇷💯♥️ my father grand grandmother is native. But my father is mix with Hindu but I'm black because of my mother roots. That's why I love every culture ♥️one love
My mother is from Guyana, and moved to New York City in the 70's. She says everyone has intestinal worms (just like here in America, but that's another story...) She told me she once pulled one out of herself while she was bathing in the river.
Wow!!! You gonna have me looking at my Guyanese people's feet now lol! But intestinal worms thing 😮. My mom grew up with worms due to the poverty growing up in rural South Carolina.
I used to live in Guyana bc I was in the Peace Corps. my village was being ransacked by a jaguar every night. he was eating everyone's chickens which is their lifeline. they eventually trapped the jaguar and released him into another part of the jungle.it was just an absolutely gorgeous, powerful animal.
I used to be that dude that knew everything about everything. As I grew up I realized I knew nothing about anything. Being humble is a positive trait, the sooner you learn the better. Everyone is flawed in some way, do everyone around you a favor and know yourself.
I love that they helped with the medicine, and that the shaman loved to get his people help. That’s how you know that he’s a true shaman, not trying to stick to any pretentious ways. I hope that their medic tried to learn from him as well
I don't think anyone here can say what a "true" shaman is. How much time has any of us spent with any shaman living in the rainforest, isolated from the rest of the world? Only the indigenous people know what their shaman should be like.
Ringworm is a fungal infection. However from his description what is means is Hookworm, Which is a worm and can cause a similar looking rash along the surface of the skin. This is treated with a pill. So I think he just remembered the name wrong. Giant Roundworm would also be a huge concern.
Joe, there's a biologist guy in Brazil that I would love seeing you and him having a conversation. The name of this guy is Richard Rasmussen. He has a lot of experience with animals, Amazon culture and he worked with discovery channel in many country of this world. Nowadays he has a CZcams channel. im in Alaska, anything that can kill you, you will hear and see before it does thank god! Ill take a moose or wolf or bear over a snake or tiny ass scorpien in my shoes any day.
"Ringworm" has nothing to do with worms. It's a contagious itching skin disease occurring in small circular patches, caused by any of a number of fungi and affecting chiefly the scalp or the feet. The most common form is athlete's foot.
Yes, sounds so amazing both: that they were pulling his leg and also that is so self western that didn't gave a duck about the tribe's name or anything accurate, average gringo.
lol this guy is full of shit. I’ve been to the Amazon and I asked my guide, who was an Indigenous Amazonian if he had ever seen a Jaguar. He said only once, in about 40 years of living in the jungle. And we went on night treks which our guide said was safe.
The photo from the thumbnail is in Canela, at the very south of Brazil. It's as far from the Amazon forest as NY is far from Los Angeles... not related at all. Brazil is amazing!
"Must be pretty recent" Joe, President James Garfield died because Doctors kept operating on him without cleaning their tools. This was less than 150 years ago. Modern medicine is one group of technology thats grown faster than any other tech. Hell, in the span of a year, my dad went from not moving a ACL reconstruction for 6 weeks, to having to get up and walk around less than 24 hours after the surgery. (Yes he tore his ACL twice in less than a year).
We get mountain Lions here where I live in California. Sometimes locals will take pictures of them around the area. The only encounter I ever had, our Ring caught a mountain lion carrying a cat in its mouth. Minced garlic juice over the ring worm before bed. Will get rid of it almost over night. Depending on how many/size. But apply 2/4 nights and no more ring worm/s.

Hahaha i died when he talked about their feet
😂 good one
Remo Leeman aren’t the Huaorani they were talking about the ones in The Mission?
Lmfao 🤣🤣🤣
Joe “I had a thing for feet a while ago” Rogan.
They are Vadoma people if anyone is interested.

“Did you look at their feet? Hey Jamie, pull up their feet!”

My mother is from Guyana, and moved to New York City in the 70's. She says everyone has intestinal worms (just like here in America, but that's another story...) She told me she once pulled one out of herself while she was bathing in the river.
Yeah my dad is from there. His toes are thick and spread far apart. I remember when I was young I’d try to flex my feet like that for hours.
Wow!!! You gonna have me looking at my Guyanese people's feet now lol! But intestinal worms thing 😮. My mom grew up with worms due to the poverty growing up in rural South Carolina.

Ringworm is a fungal infection. However from his description what is means is Hookworm, Which is a worm and can cause a similar looking rash along the surface of the skin. This is treated with a pill. So I think he just remembered the name wrong.
Giant Roundworm would also be a huge concern.

"Ringworm" has nothing to do with worms. It's a contagious itching skin disease occurring in small circular patches, caused by any of a number of fungi and affecting chiefly the scalp or the feet. The most common form is athlete's foot.

We get mountain Lions here where I live in California. Sometimes locals will take pictures of them around the area. The only encounter I ever had, our Ring caught a mountain lion carrying a cat in its mouth. We had outside cats and thought it caught one of ours, they were in hiding for a week after that big cat showed up.
