Hiking Switzerland | Beautiful Interlaken, Harder Kulm

- Switzerland is expensive. Beautiful, but so expensive. As a result of that, the only thing that we could afford for accommodations was a hostel. Luckily, Interlaken has some epic hostels, my (Josh's) favorite of which is Balmer's. I've stayed here every other time that I've gone to Interlaken, so staying here felt a bit like coming home... except that the feeling of the home had changed a bit in the last year, and has been essentially closed for a very long time. Going back to a hostel after all this time felt different, in some ways, good and in some ways, just different. For those of you wondering what hostels are like in 2021 in Europe right now - this video is for you.
We also did the absolutely tremendous and punishing Harder Kulm hike. It's a 2 hour straight uphill hike that rewards your efforts with one of the most incredible views in the world. You could take a funicular for $25 per person, each way... but you know what we're going to do :)

Honestly, it would be super rewarding to do a hike like this!! You wouldn't get the same sensation riding the funicular :) Definitely difficult but rewarding! Awesome vid y'all 😍
I totally get it !! But, I love funicular myself & it is still dangerous to hike certain places ,not to mention very exhausting ! Some are scared of heights like me !! Lol. Though I am much better now ! But, for us ,should stay with funicular !!! LOLLOLLOL 😅👍💜💜💜💜🥁🐉🎵🎤🎶💞

Hi. Are there easy hike in Interlaken with a lake or just nice views? I won't have the right shoes and all for the hike you 2 took :) And taking the tram up. ..CHF40 up & ChF20 down ? Very nice up there though. thx

Small tips here: bring something to snack on when you go hiking or when you go somewhere (apple/banana from Migros/Coop/Aldi/Lidl will give lots of energy). After all, this is Switzerland & things are expensive. No need to feel "low" about it, that's how the Swiss do it :-) Bring a water bottle too to fill up along the way...For all who loves nature but are not that hiking junkies, usually we take the funicular or cable car up & walk down. In so doing, we enjoy the beautiful sights and still have energy for the next day's hiking.
These are good tips - thank you! :) we usually under-prepare, but that's just our style I guess? And things are SO expensive in Switzerland, happy to hear that it's not just us trying not to spend $30 on a burger at a restaurant
