The way Congress has worked in so many decades have not worked out for India, from reservation to tribal area to not able to buy land if not farmer, literally everything happened in Congress has destroyed India rather than building it.

In real time scenario this is as same as in Manipur's case. ANI (Govt supported news channel as declared during women wrestlers protest at jantar mantar) found Abdul in kuki and meitei tribe that went Viral and other news channels were on the same track . What was the reality, all of us are aware of that. Fourth pillar and freedom of speech is dead in this country. Smriti Irani took the job of news reporter when he asked ground based question. I think the most beautiful example of the freedom of speech is when dictator said he is hurt from whatever happened with the people of Manipur is unfair and took examples of CG, Rajasthan etc instead of MP, UP, Gujrat and others as well. I'm from MP and I know the situation of my city and state. Dictator is a trash. Meanwhile Govt has prepared new draft for IT ministry to control freedom of speech in online platforms. जब कोई नेता किसी झुग्गी झोपड़ी के सामने से गुजरता है तो उसे ढांक देती है वहां की सरकार ताकि दाग न दिखे।

She claims Modi is drumming up religious tension but she doesn't give a single example. Yet she still claims it's incorrect to blame the opposition for supposedly marketing this idea. If Modi is so anti-Muslim why can't these "journalists" ever actually mention what he's actually done wrong? They can't even mention a single statement Modi has ever made. This just shows how in fact it is mostly just the opposition and liberal journalists drumming up this idea that Modi is a anti-democratic bigot.

While it is very true that Adani seems to be favored by Government, I think there is a bigger reason. All powerful nations use private houses as tools to gain control of things Governments cannot do directly. Adani has stolen multiple port projects from China which
Indian Government was not able to. Many natural resource projects abroad that are not very environment friendly are taken by Adani instead of Government deals. I think there is a bigger reason Government has partnered with Adani to push nationalistic projects without the risk of Indian Government falling in the mess.
Also Ma'am seems really opinionated. I for a 30yr old middle class person rising from lower middle class am very clear that the left parties are anti national and will create any narrative possible to make sure they have the throne. It is very much true that minorities are feeling more threatened but his threat is a creation of their own mindset and brainless guidance from left parties and their religious teachings of hatred and Jih*d

At this point left winged individuals only believe in abusing and throwing slurs at majority and babysitting the majority. They aren't the liberals they claim to be. A liberal is a person who listens both sides. The cheap appeasement politics, freebies, supporting a certain group that wants sharia ( waqf board, muslim league ) etc drove me away from any desire to vote for congress. Yes I was considering voting congress. But they were the ones who drove me away. Bjp is doing what it's saying. It was brought india in mainstream media, raised the GDP, has maintained amazing diplomacy internationally.
India even managed to make strong allies like israel and Russia. Which the previous government was afraid to do so as to not offend white supremacists. But this government is fearless and self reliant. Why'd I not vote for bjp? Congress is shit.

    Ranveer,
Interesting discussion with Mrs Coomi Kapoor but I have some differences of opinion :
    1. NDTV was sold by its owners and there was no pressure on them as felt by Mrs Kapoor and if that was the case they could approach the court.
    2. Bofors scandal took place during Rajiv Gandhi's tenure and kickbacks were paid and the late former CBI director Mr Joginder Singh confirmed it in a T. V. Interview. Indian Express exposed the corruption which resulted in raids on its offices.
    3. Mr Rajiv Gandhi was much more intelligent compared to Rahul Gandhi.
    4. There are many ways through which Industries can support the opposition parties, therefore, that is not the reason for the demonetisation of currency.
    5. Congress party made a compromise with corruption during the tenure of Mr Manmohan Singh only to remain in power. Mrs Sonia Gandhi was running the government and Mr Manmohan Singh was her puppet. No self-respecting honest person can accept this, therefore, Mr Manmohan Singh is more responsible because he had the option to resign or leave the party.
    6. Yes, it is true that if Rahul Gandhi becomes the opposition candidate to lead them then no one is going to vote for them.
    7. Congress always played the card of casteism but no one accused them, many journalists are accusing BJP now despite knowing the reality.
    8. Taking about Hindu rastra is not authoritarianism, therefore, it is misleading.
Lastly, some journalists were on the payroll of the Congress party and as the Congress is out of power many of them are making baseless allegations.

I get the feeling Ranveer could have dived deeper into a few of the topics. For example, when she claimed that the current government uses religion to win elections. Ranveer should have asked her to share instances. A good counter question would have been is it only the current government that uses religion as a tool.

Wah Ranveer, your interviews become better and better. Today the interviewer was much more mature than the Senior journalist. Gyani log bolte hain ki kuch log Baal dhoop main hi safed kar lete hain. It was proven today. Indian Podcasters have grown much better than the crony media of yesterday years. Many people think that parameter of intelligence is a good command over english, well that is not so. A journalist with a spine, grit and gumption will not be afraid to say harsh things clearly and not try to white wash. During UPA2 a general feeling among sane NRIs was that if Congress and Manmohan comes back to power then we won't have a country called India to come back to as the UPA was trying to sell off every thing for a bribe. Is that what we call decency. Ranveer, you are good but some time in future, I hope that you will learn to ask more penetrating and difficult questions. Though whatever you have written has NOTHING to SUPPORT your premise that past Government has treated Hindu as. Commodity but still I will respond to the other things that you have said. But whenever you reply to someone, reply to the thing that is asked. Anyway:
      1. About studying about rulers of ancient and medieval history , I don't know where you studied and which text books you have followed but I don't think kids are not taught about Shivaji or Cholas or Pandyas.
Secondly the concept of protecting the motherland. Every king of its time protected it's territories and attacked other territories for annexation of resources that were most valuable for those times may it be land or forests etc etc. From your statement I can easily decipher you are not a student of history so I won't get into the long indepth of debates a sto how you facts are triangulated , how an inference is drawn and how history is recorded. So I won't comment on that.
      2. About Mughals, if you want to think that you can know everything in history by reading upto 10th or 12th standard history then that is a fallacy on your part. Moreover I know the reason behind you bringing up Mughals, even if you go by the basic school level text books one will find that Aurangzeb has been called a Bigot and Akbar has been praised for his contribution to Indian society. The school text book history is a summary outline of the major incidents that have happened in last 1500-1600 years. Just like in 10th class physics or maths you didn't know calculus or usage of calculus in Physics etc etc. So don't get into the History discussion. This comment box is not enough for me to explain history to you but I will humbly suggest STOP LIVING IN HISTORY. it's long long gone!
      3. About Ram mandir. Sir I don't know how old are you but until the Advani's yatra or even until 2014 I don't think you also had any worry about the fact that when Ram Mandir will be built and where. And any place of worship when takes a communal turn putting two communities at logger heads for an incident that happened 500-600 years back, that has to be dealt with in a very very cautious manner. I hope that one Ram mandir did change your life substantially.
      4. About PFI, to ban any organisation you need to establish the causal linkage between his activities with terrorist organisations. Even the government in power did it after being in power for 9 years and yes the Ban is NOT PERMANENT. Whether it remains that way or not that we will eventually know.

It is said that Rajiv Gandhi ordered the brutal killings of Sikhs in Delhi after his mother Indira Gandhi’s assassination. We were teenagers at that time and my cousin who had just had his long hair cut due to rising tensions of a backlash against Sikhs , came home to tell of his harrowing escape from Congress goons who were burning Sikhs alive after dousing them with kerosene and rubber tyres around their necks. This horrifying memory holds true in my mind as I am of both a Hindu Sikh community. We wanted to believe he hadn’t ordered this But had to remove our rose coloured spectacles of innocence after all the horror stories we heard.

For me 2000 rs. Note is eased out is because to clean up the 2000 rs. Note from the market. She has really great point about that, but according to me i think 2000 rs note first introduced so that in less printing work we can distribute lots of money to the people at that time , as all they had already were collected by the govt. And gradually they stop printing that , as required amount of money reached to common people. And when its use is totally erased from the market they decided to take back the 2000 rs. Note. Final aim for them is to remove big notes from the market. And other target of their was what she said.

I watched it through. Fascinating conversation, clearly the perspective of someone with the political journalism experience of Ms. Kapoor is valuable for the present times. I noticed a blindspot though: she narrated the 1) cruel vasectomies of the emergency 2) suppression of press freedoms 3) corruption of the two Manmohan Singh administrations, 4) the learning-on-the-top-job of Rajiv Gandhi, and 5) the quality of life deprivation that Bharat faced in the Congress years. On the other hand, her complaints of the Modi administration are that 1) they canceled 2000 rupee notes to deprive black money funding of the opposition, and 2) they whip up religious divisions. She seemed to think that the latter made Shri Modi equal to Smt Indira Gandhi in cruelty or corruption. I could quibble but I won't. Voters will have to pick their poison wisely in 2024.
