I am so glad I did some research and thankfully I seem to have ordered a great one. I am just waiting for it to arrive from a shop here and I can hardly wait. This is an upgrade for me from a tiny Janome that doesn't even have a light over the needle. I think I will have the Cadillac now. lol
I agree. You are a wonderful instructor! I just received my first Brother sewing machine. Truth of the matter is, I have never had any thing other than the base model singer. I had my first singer for 35 years. It didn’t sew fabulous but it got the job done. I mourned it’s passing😂. I replaced it with my heavy duty singer. Again, not fabulous but got the job done. With this brother I want to really do a nice job sewing. I want to be proud of the stitches and beauty. I’ll need instruction. Should you decide to tutor please let us know!!

It will handle the thickness but for the layers you may need to use a walking foot attachment. The compact size of this machine may limit the size of the bags that you try to get into its opening.

It has a more durable casting, longer feed dog system for better fabric control and more built in stitches.
