2024 Soapbox Derby at Hidden Falls Regional Park

The 2024 Soapbox Derby took place at Hidden Falls Regional Park as a boarder battle with our neighbors across the river, Minneapolis! Spectators filled the sidelines as teams competed to take home the trophy. Recreation Center youth worked with volunteers from Tools 4 Teens to build and decorate their cars leading up to the race. From girl power to outer space to checkered flags, each team’s car was unique, expressive and fast! This year’s trophy went to Minneapolis’ Coyle Recreation Center with Saint Paul’s West Minnehaha Recreation Center taking 2nd place, and Minneapolis’ Whittier Recreation Center in 3rd. Best Design went to El Rio Vista Recreation Center for their Pikachu car.
