I had to upgrade my Sim Drifting Setup AGAIN!

- I previously had Moza R5 steering wheel but unfortunately that wheel was not supported in CarX. This is why I had to upgrade to R9 wheel instead because CarX announced that they support the R9 wheel. So first I set up the wheel in Assetto Corsa to make sure all the wheel settings work fine, then I tested it out in CarX as well to find out if it works or not.

In fairness that's a really budget kit, would recommend that over pretty much any other bundle if you don't play carx because direct drive for $5/600 with pedals is a steal

@@kwame20101 I dont think theres an r9 kit you can buy, but there is an r5 kit that comes with the base, wheel and pedals (no clutch, but you can buy it for about 50-60) for approx $1199 where I live

Thhat wheel is designed for the r5 and is not compatible with the r9if i am correct. he would need to get the v2 version

Nice to see you get the r9, hope the settings issues get solved soon and can get started on drifting. But not gonna lie that t300 setup is gonna be missed. It's got the novelty factor to it

I was pretty disappointed when carx didnt have any ffb with my Simagic Alpha mini. But it was suited around AC and ACC . And Beamng feels super amazing for the wheel support it has even for these brand new direct drives. Feels so natural.
setup vjoy and ffb is in everything again !!. emuwheel for forza's and some others actually work welllll with it like the crew .

hey goosiest, 1 week a go i bought my first wheel the logitech g29, and i have to say that it is not that easy to start learning to drift. So i want to say that i have mad respect for you. KEEP IT UP !!!!
It's much harder to drift with a G29 than it is with the higher end wheels (even compared to a T300). I upgraded from a G29 to an R9 and I instantly improved a ton.

G29 is bad for drifting. Try getting t300 if you can at some point. Almost same price

there is a "hands off" safety setting in the pit house software. it cuts FFB when the wheel feels no resistance from your hands.

Yo! I don't know if this has been answered yet, but HERE IS THE FIX FOR CARX. If your pedals are a different usb game controler than the wheel, go to settings, controls and DISABLE FORCE FEEDBACK on your PEDALS. The steering assist will turn on when you press the pedals and it will become the primary controller (in game controller mode) for the game. When you then turn the wheel, it will turn steering assist off. They literally fight each other whose force feedback shall be used. Game controller or steering wheel.

Looks like changing steering assist is attached to your wheel. You need to delete hotkeys for toggle assist on/off in CarX settings. Looks like wheel is working perfect, aside this little problem
There is no hotkeys assigned to toggle assist
Maybe you should set a hotkey then, a key you dont use or need
@@Goosiest by default it's up arrow. Maybe some button on a wheel acts like up arrow, IDK. This is kind of problem you have when connect several joysticks in different ports. Hope this will be fixed by CarX or Moza!

i have the same problem, when i play carx the steering support constantly switches on/off.. not possible to drive :( assetto and every other games works perfect with my moza r9 but carx still broken.

Hey Goosiest i am planning on getting a setup uprgrade and i was wondering do you need to have a clamp for the thrustmaster shifter you use and can you use the thrustmaster shifter you use with a logitech wheel
Now you actually have my exact setup with the same shifter, except I also ordered the new Moza handbrake.
Unfortunately I havent gotten my stuff still.
I ordered pedals, base and the wheel on 30th November last year. Pedals arrived within a week, but I am still waiting for the base, the wheel and the handbrake. I cant wait anymoreeee
I also got my pedals after a week I’ve been waiting for the table clamp for almost a month now I emailed them and they said it should ship within the week. And I just ordered my r9 and I’m hoping I get it quickly. Try to send them an email
@@luisr7094 I don’t think emailing them will help. I didn’t order from moza directly because I live in Germany and the taxes and shipping would cost way too much extra. I ordered from a German reseller for a good price. Estimated shipping time on their page says 21th February now. I’ll see if I get my stuff next week

@@SpeedyBucky yeah i went with ts300 and the whole thrustmaster setup for console and pc support. Specifically for ps5 handbrake support since dd's have been having a lot of problems and do not have a supported handbrake for console as of yet.

@@Skieyt2819 amazon handbrake wont work on a ps4 only the tssh will. All those games are fun. Get whatever you can.

I have a Moza R9 and was having the same issues with the steering assist in CarX Drift Racing. There is a confliction with the game wanting to enable FFB on other input device when you use them and they go “active” in the game (the steering assist turns on when you touch the pedals since it’s a separate input device)
In the controller settings, disable FFB for all devices except the steering wheel. After you make this change, the wheel works great and steering assist no longer tries to activate.

If you noticed it, when goose press the accelerator, the assist turn off and when goose let go of the accelerator, the steering assist turn on.
Goose I got a Logitech wheel because of you and I’ve been learning how to drift!
