- We react to the split results of Eurovision 2019 Semi-Final 2. The jury winner was North Macedonia's Tamara Todevska, while the televote winner was Norway's KEiiNO. The Netherlands' Duncan Laurence won overall.

Terrible, televoters should STOP voting for tacky dance song or Euro trash like this and San Marino 10th which make contest sounds ridiculous. Also the results of some countries are corrected like Norway not 5th but 6th after Sweden.

Well Italy and Germany gave Danmark 12 jurypoints in the semifinal. The points Norway and Sweden gave Danmark would not be enought to qualify for Danmark.
i am danish, and I was so sure Denmark would not get through. I really disliked that song.
They should have talked about how Albania received more televotes than jury points.. I thought it would be the other way around. Jonida’s voice is so good I thought they would have placed her comfortably in the top 7. At least the song resonated with the public 🙂

How the HELL can the juries put Norway OUTSIDE OF THE TOP 10 IN THE SEMI?? ROBBED
Actually, it looks like Swedish juror Lina Hedlund very possibly got her votes mixed up and accidentally awarded her points from the bottom up. She gave Austria her 8 points, which now looks like it should've gone to Switzerland, which she ranked last in the semi but first in the final. That would mean Austria and not Ireland should've finished overall last in the semi.

Idk. UK, German and Italian televote gave nothing to Denmark in the SF but they gave sudden 4 or 6 points in the final xD
I guess it goes to show how different songs might sound in different running orders. And of course there were many more, 41 countries, voting in the GF.
most of the top 10 came from semi 2. only iceland, australia and italy ranked before her in the grand final, so the difference actually is not that big...
Russia is 6th here and 3rd at the Finalle.

Norway was definitely a highlight for semi final 2. I think the songs leading up to it were good but as soon as you heard Alexandra start to sing and that euro beat kick in it made you sit up and pay attention. And how amazing was Fred when he started to joik?!? Added with the harmonies between Alexandra and Tom? Too good👍🏼
Because of the voting errors, it seems that Poland was robbed of their advance to the final. I hope EBU will address this problem.

I think the Netherlands suffere from the favorite role. Televoters and jury sometimes also vote with tactics.
Well, it won some and it lost some. Some voted for this song because it was the favorite to win. It made it an impeccable choice for a juror and gave it more promotion to attract the attention of televoters. Then again, some jurors could vote tactically and some televoters didn't vote for it because they love the underdog. But this is always the fate of the frontrunner. Since the song won the contest, I'd say that it gained more than it lost because of its favorite status :-)
A bit of topic maybe but, Some juries clearly voted based on odds. In the Finals Russia and Italy screwed over all favourites. Im happy my country ( the Netherlands) voted fairly as we gave Italy, Australia, Switzerland, Russia and Sweden all points, knowing they were potential winners. Some countries should get punishments for voting unfairly. Look at 2017 Portugal and Bulgaria were voting strategically too.....

All 5 jurors from Georgia also put Russia in 26th place, and also the Israeli Jury definitely coordinated to put Iceland in the bottom couple of places

It's crazy that Norway won the televotes of this semi, and if it was up for the juries only, they wouldn't even qualify! WTF?? The juries needs to go
Norway wasn't that good though....I mean it did deserve to qualify but still....
I didn't like Romania, but I liked Armenia. What made it fail are Srbuks shaky vocals. I didn't expect N.Macedonia to do so well with juries. I would have preferred either Armenia or Lithuania instead of Denmark. But the cuteness and staging of Denmark make it stand out more. I was so happy Norway and Albania were saved by televote, because they deserved so much more. Sweden was an other song that was meh...this song was similar to UK song to me, dated sounds. Overall I agreed on top 10.

I think Romania was good and that it would qualify. But I also think that her english pronunciation was bad, maybe that hurt her in the 2.nd semifinale and was the reason she did not qualified.

Jury sinked Norway in the semi and in the grand final, even though Norway won the televotes both times. What a shame.
I was surprised by Ireland in the fact that I didn’t think she would come last. I was expecting 12th or 13th and I really thought the juries would have hit behind her more but clearly I was wrong
Dutch Televote gave 12 to Norway and 10 to Sweden in the SF as Netherlands only got 5 points from Swedish and Norwegian televote 😅
So? If this is their honest opinion, what is wrong about it? It would be worse if they give The Netherlands 12 points just because The Netherlands gave them 12 points... (What Greece and Cyprus do every year...)
@@lisettevanbeek2650 Nothing wrong with THAT, but to me it is a bit coincidental that Sweden gets 12 points from Norway, Denmark, Iceland, and okay 'just 8 points' from Finland. And they dont get booed for it like Cyprus/Greece. Much easier to win if you have neighbours like that.
The thing with Lithuania is that he got basically 46 free televote points (12 from Norway, Ireland and the UK, and 10 from Latvia). Maybe the juries were aware of that and downgraded him on purpose, since they're kinda here to balance out the diaspora voting

@@kiekendiefje yes, I didn't mean they were aware of the points, but maybe they knew that Lithuania gets a lot of votes based solely on diaspora and not on the song (come on, even Fusedmarc got Ireland's 12 televote points in 2017...)

The way Norway was treated this year reminds me alot of how Denmark was treated in 2018.
- Both Nordic countries in the second Semi-final.
- Both got called as the 8th country in the Grand Finale.
- Both won their respective Semi-final televoting.
- Both were 15th in the Grand Finale running order.
- Both CRIMINALLY underrated by the juries.

the North Macedonia song was too literal for me personally. I don't like to be told what to feel, I like to have my own interpretation of the song, which is hard to do when the lyrics are so literal. I do think she's a great singer, but I believe that's where the disconnect was with the TV audience. Right person won this year! Duncan Laurence should have won the jury vote by a mile. Pleasantly surprised it did so well with the televoters too!!
Am I the only one that felt like Armenia was nowhere during this year's Eurovision?! Did I miss something, where Srbuk didn't do enough press or the Armenian delegation pissed the EBU off resulting in them being put first? Genuinely zero buzz, few mentions online ... I feel bad but it's like they weren't even in Tel Aviv this year
@Adam Chasing That's my point though, like I saw SO much buzz about all 5 entrants that you've mentioned. I did see that Srbuk was there and doing the press of course, and there were videos with her and reaction videos, but I feel like looking at Wiwi videos they rarely brought up Armenia, and definitely in the comments of all Eurovision-related videos no-one was really talking about Armenia's entry and so they faded in the background. Even after Semi Final 2 had ended, I didn't see many comments saying they wished Armenia had made it. I don't know, I'm just trying to understand why over the course of the 2 months they were consistently underrated and forgotten, and it certainly didn't help that they went 1st in the running order

What I got from this video actually only the result of the gab between jury and the televote. I could easily read it by my self. I really miss your opinion, when you go through the result. You have so much knowlegde - why not share it ? Who was your biggest surprise, who was robbed, who did you want to swich and so on :-) Anyway, thank you for deliver news from Eurovision. Later it’s been done clear from the EBU that the gab between Denmark and Lithuania would have been bigger.
Just in case anyone hasn't heard yet, Norway has dropped to 18th place in the jury vote and 6th place overall due to the error in the Belarussian jury voting. Juries working as intended...

Malta’s problem is that she seemed very bored and stiff on stage, and she didn’t improve much for the final and semi final. She didn’t dance, and when she did it looked like she couldn’t do it. Her voice was good, but her performance wasn’t good enough

Guys you have an error with Albania’s jury points total from the semi final your on about they got 38 not 48 meaning the points difference from televotes to juries is double the difference you have 10 making their points difference total 20
I think Sweden and Australia won't get many points from televote in the near future because people are fed up with the jury that overestimate the entries every year. No matter how good they will be now people hate these countries. Well done producers.

Jurijus deserved to qualify! He had amazing vocals and a nice pop song. Besides, weren't the juries told not to look at the staging for semifinal 2? I don't understand why them put him 2nd to last 😤
I just really do not get the hype for KEiiNO. Sure the song deserved Top 15 but to win??? It was a complete rip off of Monsters last year and the sound was very dated and generic. I'm very glad the juries saw through the fangirling and put the Netherlands through because Norway's win would have been a huge slap in the face to so many stronger more original acts. Also their staging wasn't that special I guess I watched a completely different performance....
I totally disagree with you on everything. What was more special with Netherlands staging? The camerashots was the best from Keiino, the vocals were great, and people says their music sounds like Alan Walker (who's music is not dated or generic). Linnea D. the songwriters of Monsters has told media in Norway that she do not understand what people are thinking when they say Spirit in the sky is a copy of Monsters. She says the 2 songs are totally different. I think the songwriters has more knowlage about the songs than you do. So you can say what you want but the notes etc are facts and they tells us that this 2 songs are not alike, no rip off.
I guess I'm the only one who doesn't understand why North Macedonia was so high.. No offense. I liked the perfomance.. But first on jury vote? Wow..

Albania got 38 points from the juries and 58 points from the televote, for a total of 96 points.

I think the juries need looked at, because there is always drama between them and the public voting differently but the fact that they would not have qualified this year's televote winner shows they've crossed that line between being the voice of reason and just being out of touch. Always wonder how they would have ranked a song if Sweden sent it 😂

Actually it would have come second to last but one of the swedish jury members accidentally ranked her songs in the wrong order, so she put her least favorite first. Which means that Austria didn't come last xD you can read about it on wiwiblogs, it's so unprofessional

Need to STOP blaming jury but big part of hardcore Eurofans who mess up the result by supporting songs like San Marino and Norway just cos it's funny to party, some symphaty and blaming juries in the end. And it happen every year like Denmark 2018, Romania 2017.
