- Well after many many attempts and lots of learning. We finally put a giant tuna in the boat! A whopping 108"! I have a hard time finding words to express what this fish means to me! I'm speechless..

Feel like I just caught my first tuna. I’m disabled and in really bad health. I’m unable to leave the house most days so this was extremely uplifting

Instead of it being a yt video you should have your own TV show. The filming and editing is top notch! I'll never be able to get out on the ocean like this so it means more than you could know that I can travel with you through your life , work and adventures. I know I'll definitely never make it to Maine. Please don't stop the Lobster shorts or longer vids and definitely don't stop ones like this one every so often, even if just once a year or two. I don't remember how many subs you have now but it truly isn't near enough. You seem like an amazing boss, friend and family man. I love the fact that I can watch something like this and not have to listen too nothing but foul language. Your an upstanding young man. Your family should be proud. Wow what a catch 108" ! That was great! You have the right boat for it too.I miss thoes days. I first started boating back in 60s out of my grandfather's back yard on the Long Island sound when everybody had wood boats. Now I jusy wish I was out there. That water was like glass. A good day of fishing is better than anything In the world.

I live in Minnesota and always thought walleye was the best tasting fish. Until my dad's buddy gave us som halibut he caught in Alaska that is by far the best fish I've ever had! We grilled some and oven baked some. Either way it was amazing!
Cooked with normal cooked potatoes and a sweet and sour sauce is also really great 😊 also just fried on a normal pan👌🏼 i would argue it's perhaps the best tasting fish, but ofc depends on the person 😅
Minnesota in the winter, Winter Harbor in the summer. Its our recipe since I retired a couple of years ago. And yeah, halibut is great, but I'd never turn down walleye either.

The hootin’ and hollerin’ is fantastic! Just a group of guys having a helluva time. I’ve absolutely no desire to go fishing for fish that’re bigger than I am, but that’s down to the fact that noodling for catfish was fun until I was shoulder deep into a really pissed off cat. So no desire to even think about going for yet another gigantic fish, but it somehow feels like I just caught my first tuna.

Your boat is AWESOME! I'm a girl born on the water. I cook on crab boats, and I love Alaska. Before red crab season opens, we did a 24 hour halibut season. Long line with octopus on the hooks.. when we were prospecting i pulled a "Butt" just about the same size as yours, all by myself! 😅😅 That was dinner! Nothing tastes better than fresh caught Halibut deep fried in beer batter, home made fries...Mmmmm good. I'd LOVE to go on a tuna fishing trip...I love watching your life!
I cant believe it's even possible to catch such a huge fish with just a fishing pole...OMG! It's like hitting the lottery.

It’s so exciting when you catch a fish that size. I was fishing with 3 people off of Montauk Point, NY and we caught a 201 lbs yellowfin tuna. It was a thrill!
Takes me back! I used to work on a lobster boat in Long Island Sound, back before all the lobsters died. A few years later, my old boss called and invited me on his first tuna trip, heading out into the open sea off Montauk in the new, bigger boat (42' Cape Dory), and I joined the group. I was seasick almost the whole time, and all we caught were some bonito, but boy were they good eating! Love your work. My old boss is out of NH now, and has done a couple of kids' books about his favorite seagull Redeye!
I will never get to go tuna fishing, so thank you for the opportunity to fish with you.

I’ve been binging on your videos for two days now. Although I’m American, my family is from Nova Scotia. I’ve been deep-sea fishing ONCE off the coast of Halifax. It was a cold, spitting rainy day with chop in July. half the boat was chumming the water with vomit! We had a very nice captain and first mate. They cleaned all the fish, including the shark that got tangled in our lines. (We caught our limit) Good eating!
PS…neither I nor my cousins that went on the boat have EVER tried deep sea fishing again. 😂😂😂

What a great video. I don’t eat seafood or go fishing, yet I am really enjoying your videos. This one in particular was great to see how happy and excited you all got over catching the tuna.
During a visit to Japan a while back I went to a tuna auction and it was my first time seeing how huge they are. They also had a fish market where local fishermen would sell their daily catches, not just to restaurants or supermarkets. I learned a lot.

And BTW, halibut is another favorite of mine, that barn door was the biggest I've seen outside of the Pacific Northwest. I got some awesome recipes for them including some killer ceviche. Who needs a grill when you have a shitload of limes? LOL

Great job, a definite nod from a fisherman's daughter 😅 Daddy was a waterman on various boats plus his own, taught me to fish and shellfish, various methods, when I was actually knee high to his waders, lol. I grew up this way on Cape Cod, my Grampy, my Dad and my Uncle always took me fishing or shellfishing as it was food for the table as well as making a living.
Plus, the accent 😂 cannot be beat. Ayup... 😅 people really love the Maine and Massachusetts accents 😂

I'm not sure why this video showed up in my CZcams suggestions but I'm glad it did. I've lived on Vancouver Island most of my life and have caught a few fish myself. In fact, my brain has altered what i see when i fish for halibut. When the fish breaks the surface I no longer see a fish. I see a plate of deep fried beer battered food.
That tuna looked a little shy of nine feet but who gives a shit. Still just a beautiful and rare fish that you guys should be proud of. Well done, guys,

I grew up on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia, right on the water. My dad, a retired Air Force officer, was an avid hunter and fisherman. We had access to lots of fish and seafood. Now I live in Kansas and those things, fresh caught, are not accessible to me. One of my favorites was flounder stuffed with crab meat! Viewing your adventures on the sea and your cuisine make me wax nostalgic, but also hungry. Thanks for the memories and the great and good humor. Stay safe.
