  • Distances relay Zone Setting and Distance Relay Zone Operating system has been explain from basic
    Here I have explain step by step Distance protection from Basic
    Why we go for zone?
    How much percentage we have to keep for each zone?
    What is the best timing for each zone?
    Why we go for zone2?
    Why we go for zone3 ? and
    Why we go for zone 4?
    You can able to fine answer for this all question.
    And also I have show some demo of fault and how the relay will respond for the fault ,
    Here I have touched carrier send and receive also not deeply . but I have show little bit.
    By seeing this video you can have idea about distance protection

    Zone 4 timing is not greater than zone 3 timing.. as per CEA zone 3 time delay is 800-1000 ms and for zone 4 -500ms.

    Sir, in zone-2 the setting of impedance will be around 100% line +20-50 % of remote end right. What will we consider in remote end i.e., transformer impedance or line impedance in remote side?

      @rajeshtk1246 Před 4 lety +1

      @@tufailalam6438 One relay is chosen as Main1 and the other relay is taken as Main2. Both provide simultaneous protection of the line. It is ususal for configuring main 1 with distance and main 2 with backup ocef protection only, or both relays with all protection activated. The use of two relays is just to have redundancy in protection. Its just an eveolution of line protection philosophy. Earlier, only OCEF was present, then came directional ocef (both mostly in electromechanical form), then with the static relay tech, distance protection came into being. Nowadays, all the above said protection is done with the use of numerical relays.

      @@tufailalam6438 all protections are enabled in both main 1 and main2 relay. This is to improve the protection as well as reliability of the line. In case if one of the relay gets faulty we can still use the line without interreption.
