My brother, I just bought a Craftsman m110 from marketplace and in the description were no issues with the motor, however, when I went to pick it up I found out that it has set for 2 years and it wouldn't crank up. So the husband told me instead of $100 give him $75 for the more in that I will have to get it serviced... Well I'm so proud to say that for the first time in my life I followed CZcams and had taken the carburetor apart and got it started by the grace of God myself! 🤗 I thank you so much for your layman termed video and may God bless you further in your knowledge! 🤗

Big thank you from South Dakota! We bought this lawnmower last year and stored it over the winter never running it. I took it apart checked everything and it started! Thanks brother!
I bought this mower new last year and had the EXACT issues you described in this video. Thank you so much for the detailed instructions. Job only took about an hour and only cost me $7 for parts cleaner instead of $50 on a tune up
Thank you sir for posting this. It ended up being the same issue you had. This helped give me the confidence to complete the job and fixed my mower. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for this video!!!! I watched the video twice then attempted to clean the carb myself (my friends know I have zero mechanic skills). The fist time I put it back together it didn't run, so tore it apart again and within 15 minutes she was running on the first pull! Appreciate you and the video.
I truly appreciate your time to post this video. I watched it from start and finished. I worked on my Craftsman mower the way you showed us and it actually worked. God bless you!

Worked like a champ. My mower was brand new and I cut the yard once. The next time it would start but die immediately. I knew it had to be the carburetor. The video helped figure out how to get it off. One thing to careful of: the sediment bowl o ring will swell when using Gumout. Take it off first. I was able to get it back in but I had to work at. I found the brass jet had tarnished sitting in the box from the factory. Great video.
Hope I’m not the only one that blew on it like he did. Got it running immediately after watching this! Bless you. Sucks this is happening to so many people.
Dude!! This was an amazing video. I’ve been having issues with my lawn mower not turning on for about 2 months. I watched the video like twice and decided to do it to try it out even though I was nervous of the tedious steps. My dad is disabled handyman so I wanted to find a way to fix it myself without having to pay hundreds of dollars to fix it. I followed each step then rewatched it backwards to put it together and IT TURNS ON NOW.! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, man. I am a small engine noob. The details like socket size were amazing. I did everything like you showed and it wouldn't srart until the sixth pull. Exactly what you showed in the video. Thanks, again
This worked like a charm. We bought the same mower on the 4th of July last year after finally giving up on our 25+ year old 1994 Craftsman mower, which I rebuilt the carburetor on and gave a complete tune up on to no avail. I used this new mower several times last year with new good gas, the mower wasn't left out or anything, but it wouldn't start this spring. So, I referred to this video and cleaned out the carburetor with carb cleaner, then rinsed it with water, dried it well, and also used some starter fluid as he suggested, and it fired right up on the first try.
@@jcx2bby - It's funny because it's not something I really ever had to do on the old mower until just very recently, but it finally quit on us. I may still take it apart again just to give it a chance since it is our old mower and is the same one we had from when I was a teenager. You can get parts for the old mower anymore, though.
Went to mow my lawn today & mower would t start. Almost dropped it off at local shop to have them figure it out. Then I came across this video, followed it step by step & sure enough mower fired right up! Thank you sir!

So glad I found both of your videos! I often read the comments of most videos and was glad I purchased Mechanic In A Bottle along with the carburetor cleaner. I did almost all of your steps, except for the float needle disassembly. I put about 3 ounces of the Mechanic In A Bottle in the empty tank. My mower sputtered but didn't start. Pulled a few times nothing. Took the air filter back often and sprayed some carb cleaner and starter into the assembly. Again the mower started, but stalled. Used the carb cleaner again and the mower finally started! For the first ten seconds it didn't sound like it would it stay running. I tried a strap around the auto shutoff handle so that I could add some fuel before the Mechanic In A Bottle ran dry. I added less than half a tank and lower it idle and adjust itself for about three minutes, until it was no longer surging. Then I cut the grass until I ran out of gas. After adding more fuel the mower started right up. Thanks again everyone. I think this is my third season with this mower. I thought I ran out dry at the end of the season. I'll be adding with fuel stabilizer or the Mechanic In A Bottle at the end of the season to the fuel that used too run the tank dry. Also, you have a new subscriber.

Awesome video - this solved my issue. I bought this mower last season - literally used it twice would not start this season. I called Craftsman they told me I had to bring it to a tech - I paid $400.00 for this brand new last season - had a tech look at it - couldn't get it started. I'll never buy a Craftsman product again. Great video and thanks so much.
David, sadly your experience is like so many others. I know that the main problem with these carbs gumming up is the ethanol fuel we use BUT. The manufacturers should be held accountable to find a carb that isn't succecptible after just one season.
Great video big guy! I wanted to try one last ditch effort before I started breaking everything down and cleaning it. I bought a $6 bottle of mechanic in a bottle. Emptied the old fuel and mixed with some fresh fuel. Sprayed with staring fluid like you recommended and it has been running ever since. Thanks!
I did this today, new mower (from last year, I borrowed my friend's mower the rest of the summer) only ran 4 times and then wouldn't start. I had that white crusty stuff at the smaller hole, cleaned all places with a needle and blew thru it. I didn't remove the float but I did a visual check to make sure no gas was inside the floats. Mower started right up! I let it idle a bit and turned it off. It only took about an hour to do but I didn't rush. Thanks sooo much for this. I also have another "new" mower that only started 3-4 times, that one is self-propelled. I didn't feel like messing with it back when it stopped starting so I bought a cheap mower which is the one I just fixed. I will definitely fix the self-propelled and use that one. Crazy how they both did the same thing.
Fan-effin-TASTIC. Followed step by step til' I got to the carb(since you said the bowl it sat in seemed to be the problem). Then reassembled it! Boom, works!! A neighbor was going to throw this away, I asked if I can have it. I feel bad that it was this easy to fix but they already had a new one so 🤷🏾
Thanks for this vid - very good. They made a toy lawnmower now one winter season later I have to learn the ins and outs of lawn mowers to cut my grass again.
Great video! Best advice was at the end... “if it doesn’t work, do it again”. Unfortunately, I had to do it twice and the only thing I changed was the second time I waited to put my tools away until it started. It did. You the man! Thanks.
Thank you so much for your video. I was almost to the point of burning this mower lol. Thankfully I saw your video and took everything apart and cleaned it and it's working like new.
DUDE!!!! Thanks so much!!! This worked for me. I have the same exact model. It didn’t run the first few pulls because it had to get the fuel back in the system, I guess but it started right up after a few tries. I didn’t clean it with any sprays but just wiped it down. So Big Thanks.
After I cleaned mine out and tried to start it... it wouldn't start either... so I just primed it with starting fluid and it hit once, sputtered , then fired right up... think it just needed priming!! Thank you so much... I've never torn into a carb., so i was hesitant... but you made it easy dude!! thanks!!
Excellent it work just like you said did exactly how you said and when I pried the lil middle piece loose them 3 lil holes 2 of them was stopped up. I believe from the manufacture cause its brand new and like the holes was not all the way open on 2 of them stuck the needle on both sides I was able to blow threw felt all 3 holes air came threw put everthing back together and walla pulled a few times it caught and been mowing my half of acre lol thanks
Nice job, and you're right about not bending those metal rods. They are super important to how well it runs and starts. But you got them backwards in the description. The first one you grabbed, that goes to the front of the carb is the automatic choke. It holds the choke closed and as soon as the mower starts the air coming off the fly wheel pushes it away and opens the choke. The other rod is the governor and controls engine speed.
Hey man thanks for the video. Bought one off OfferUp and they guy said it was only used one last year. Got home and it didn't crank so I thought I was had! However followed these instructions and it worked!
Great video! Thanks for making it. I had an opportunity to buy this mower (used only 4 times) for $30. After watching I realized its a piece of junk. Even if I fixed it by watching your video, chances are it would just break again in 2-3 months. :-)
Thank you for this!! I got a new mower late February and I've yet to get to to start or even make a sound(city girl, first lawn). I'm going to try that spray and see how it goes.
@@jcx2bby I just got back in. Went to get the starter and sprayed it where you showed. It's making a rubbing sound now, almost like a low honk but it still won't start and it's literally new out the box. Do you have any idea what it could be? Thanks for your reply 💟
@@Sisa_Limpson there should be a warranty, go trade it in. make sure you use new gas can and fresh gas if you get new mower. As for rubbing sound make sure there is no blade obstruction.
@@Sisa_Limpson adjust your handle. It may be blocking the blade. If you turn the mower over and see that the handle is too far down and blocking the blade just unscrew the handle and bring it up to the next notch
Just used this to get my pos M110 running. I guess I'll be looking it up next year too. I should see if I can find one of these on marketplace. It would be a nice flip. I took it slow and easy so it wasn't what I'd call fast but it wasn't brain surgery either.
I should have bought the mower I had to prime. This is BS! This video I will save for my son to fix. Thinking your getting the most for your money. Read the fine print. I'm so done. Two hours later: I got it started without the breakdown. I cleaned the filter vacuumed the filter area, drained the gas out and kicked and shooked it. Came back two hours later and it started. Hallelujah!
That second linkage is for the automatic choke. The Other end runs to the muffler. As the muffler heats up the bimetallic element pushes the linkage and opens the choke.
I'm torn on landscape vs portrait mode when I make these vids now. When I look at the metrics for my viewership, so many views come from mobile phones, that I've begun to film more and more in portrait because people are using their phones to watch when they are working on their mowers. Landscape shows more detail, but since youtube supports the larger portrait mode now , I've begun to abandon landscape. Sorry 😐
Magneto clearance! Got one for free. Seemed pull start was normal. Fresh fuel. Would gradually start with multiple pulls but even then it would stumble on very low rpm for several seconds then get going. Once it started, it ran good. Spark was good. Compression good. Very dirty filter. Carb had been molested so I bought a replacement. Same prob. Checked valve lash and adjusted. Same prob. Decided to take engine cover off to see if there was a problem in there. Noticed the magneto looked too close to the flywheel. Used the business card trick to adjust. Fired right up. I guess the incorrect magneto clearance was from the factory.
Bro, this and the part 2 video saved my ass and my parents possibly some money and definitely some time today. They wanted to take it to Lowe's to have it looked at, I think k its still under warranty.
Nice! Glad you found the video useful! It would most likely have been a waste of time to take it back, Lowes after sales service is pretty dismal. Good job!
My mower went from being completely dead to cranking on the first pull. Thank you for the video! My advice to all who have used this technique and don't want to have to repeat: If your mower will lay idle for months, let it run until you burn every drop of gas. That's the root of the problem.
This is a great video, and is very informative. However, the first thing I would recommend to start with is just spraying a little more starting fluid in upon initial check. My buddies wouldn’t start and had only been used one Indiana summer. I was totally prepared to take this apart and clean all the ports etc, but before I did I tried having the wife pull it while I sprayed the starting fluid. Once I got it started and it ran off the spray for 2 seconds, it was fine. Again, the video is great, but potentially save yourself some work and try this first.
I have the same model and it's been barely 2 months but won't start. Even though I have the tools and the expertise to fix it(thanks to your video), I will return the lawnmower. Would rather spend a few more $$$ and get something more reliable that will at least last a whole season.
this thing has been giving me a headache for a week or so I took everything apart cleaned the carb multiple times and nothing. I lifted the back of it and manually turned the blades with my hands a few times and BOOM starts right up. Hope this helps!
I refer to this guide every 1.5 yrs to fix my lawn mower probably saved me ~$250 so far.

Thanks!
Suhweet! I've never heard of such an elixir. I will keep my eyes peeled for something like that. Where did you get it?
I tried the same thing, picked it up at lowes, but it wasn't enough to get me running
@@MsHasturhasturhastur bummer
Awesome, glad this helped out. Thanks for commenting
Thank you so much sir I was afraid to take apart my new mower but you gave me the confidence to do it.
You are very welcome, thanks for commenting and good luck on your repair!
Great video, just helped me get my mower up and running! 👍
Awesome! Congrats!
This is the second year in a row I had to watch a video and bro actually you do an Awesome job! Thank you!
Thank you Dennis, truly humbled by that. Thanks for taking the time to comment
didn't work for me , but was very informative thanks
Thanks bro. This did it for me. I had that calcium build up in the guts of my carburetor. Cleaned it out and works like a charm. Thanks dude
Freaking sweet! Congrats!
Fan-effin-TASTIC. Followed step by step til' I got to the carb(since you said the bowl it sat in seemed to be the problem). Then reassembled it! Boom, works!! A neighbor was going to throw this away, I asked if I can have it. I feel bad that it was this easy to fix but they already had a new one so 🤷🏾
Awesome! Congrats on keeping this one out of the landfill. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Thanks for this vid - very good. They made a toy lawnmower now one winter season later I have to learn the ins and outs of lawn mowers to cut my grass again.
Lol, well put!
Thanks. Very well made & narrated & very helpful
I appreciate your feedback
Great video! Best advice was at the end... “if it doesn’t work,
do it again”. Unfortunately, I had to do it twice and the only thing I changed was the second time I waited to put my tools away until it started. It did. You the man! Thanks.
Ha, that's just the way it is sometimes isn't it. Glad you got it running 👍
Thank you so much for your video. I was almost to the point of burning this mower lol. Thankfully I saw your video and took everything apart and cleaned it and it's working like new.
Worked like new ? Mines ran 3 times 🤦
@@drumhailer547 yeah mine worked great until the next time I used it. I got rid of the peace of junk.
I forgot to run the gas out or drain it. That’s that’s why I’m here. Thank you for the video my man!
No prob, I know how that goes
DUDE!!!! Thanks so much!!! This worked for me. I have the same exact model. It didn’t run the first few pulls because it had to get the fuel back in the system, I guess but it started right up after a few tries. I didn’t clean it with any sprays but just wiped it down. So Big Thanks.
That's awesome man , congrats on the fix!
After I cleaned mine out and tried to start it... it wouldn't start either... so I just primed it with starting fluid and it hit once, sputtered , then fired right up... think it just needed priming!! Thank you so much... I've never torn into a carb., so i was hesitant... but you made it easy dude!! thanks!!
Awesome! Thank you for commenting and congratulations
Thank you so much. Just fixed a no start issue on the same mower. The gas that was left inside was a yellowish color.
Nice, congrats! Thanks for taking the time to comment
Just wanted to thank you for the video. Well done and I fixed mine with its help!
Awesome! Thanks for commenting
Thanks for the detailed video! Got my pos craftsmen back in the game!
Yes!
Good job Chris! A little knowledge and work goes a long way. Thanks for taking the time to comment
Thank you Kevin
This video was so needed. Thank you 🙏🏾 thank you 🙏🏾 thank you 🙏🏾
Glad you found it useful and thank you for commenting!
Thank you. This helped me fix my POS mower
You are welcome and congrats
Absolutely great video, very helpful. Thank you sir 👍🏻
Thank you!
Damm bro after your video l got my lawn mower going again thank you great 👍 job .
Thank you and congrats on the fix
Thanks! Trying this out today, so wish me luck!
Thanks My M220 and my old 725 are up and running with single pull. Key was at 17:09 and cleaning that middle tube.
Nice! Congrats!
Reminds me of my first marriage. Everything was going so well until the abrupt unexplained ending.
Hey man thanks for the video. Bought one off OfferUp and they guy said it was only used one last year. Got home and it didn't crank so I thought I was had! However followed these instructions and it worked!
Freaking sweet! Congrats on the score man.
Wow somehow this helped my lawn mower lol did what he did and at the first pull it started. Man thank you again for making this video 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😭
You're welcome, congrats on getting it going again.
Great video! Thanks for making it. I had an opportunity to buy this mower (used only 4 times) for $30. After watching I realized its a piece of junk. Even if I fixed it by watching your video, chances are it would just break again in 2-3 months. :-)
They're not well made.
Thank you for this!! I got a new mower late February and I've yet to get to to start or even make a sound(city girl, first lawn). I'm going to try that spray and see how it goes.
Awesome, congrats on the 1st yard and I hope this video helps you out if you need it.
Worked like a charm thanks for the information!
Great!
Thank you, it just worked for me.. big appreciation..
Thanks Dom! Happy to hear it!
Just used this to get my pos M110 running. I guess I'll be looking it up next year too. I should see if I can find one of these on marketplace. It would be a nice flip. I took it slow and easy so it wasn't what I'd call fast but it wasn't brain surgery either.
Hi Jodi, yes, definitely not brain surgery or I couldn't do it lols. Glad you got yours running and thanks for commenting.
You just saved me like 30 bucks 🙏🙏🙏 bless you
You're welcome my friend.
Hallelujah!
Understood
That second linkage is for the automatic choke. The Other end runs to the muffler. As the muffler heats up the bimetallic element pushes the linkage and opens the choke.
great video, thanks for sharing it with everyone!
Thank you
Nice. great info, clear guide of what is up. But please... horizonal landscape mode please.. .... please.
Yes it does happen sometimes. czcams.com/video/lzCgcI0YDYw/video.html
Good job!
@@jcx2bby your in depth/detailed descriptions along with the proper camera angles qere definitely a key factor.
After watching this, I bought the version with the Honda engine, $100 more but so worth it
Better engines for sure, but just as susceptible to gummed up carbs if not taken care of
My mower went from being completely dead to cranking on the first pull. Thank you for the video! My advice to all who have used this technique and don't want to have to repeat: If your mower will lay idle for months, let it run until you burn every drop of gas. That's the root of the problem.
You are most welcome Jeremy. Thanks for commenting
Absolutely, great tip!
I have the same model and it's been barely 2 months but won't start. Even though I have the tools and the expertise to fix it(thanks to your video), I will return the lawnmower.
Would rather spend a few more $$$ and get something more reliable that will at least last a whole season.
I don't blame you one bit!
Worked like a charm
Thank you
Sweet. Thanks for commenting
"doesn't work" felt so validating
Lol. It be like that sometimes
this thing has been giving me a headache for a week or so I took everything apart cleaned the carb multiple times and nothing. I lifted the back of it and manually turned the blades with my hands a few times and BOOM starts right up. Hope this helps!
Super helpful thank you so much!!!
You're welcome and thanks for commenting
Thank you! For some reason I to do it twice too. But it worked!
Nice job Brian! You gotta stick with it a second time sometimes
Awesome video thank you this helped allot
Thanks for commenting!
Same motor. Good spark. Sprayed started fluid in carb and still not trying to start. Safety handle pulled and working correctly. What's next to try?
Great advice worked for me
Nice!
I’m happy we have the same mower you made this so easy to understand!
Thanks... I did everithing on this video and mines go back to work like brand new...
AWESOME man, good job!
excellent video ty so much.
Thank you.
