Wow ... Those drag queens from season 5 need to watch this, for all the shade they threw at Jinkx, she's so intelligent and amazing
I don't think they understood her lol but I totally agree with you !!!
+gαlαχу gαмєя They got what they deserved, watching Jinkx get crowned
+Oliver Cannon Damn right they did
+gαlαχу gαмєя Shade, for shade we all need to look at Roxxxy Andrews and her treatment of our beloved Jinx...so please Jinx blew them all out of the water. She has it all
They were intimidated and jealous
I can listen to jinx for hours.
Fucking same
+PlantBasedCloud So hot
bruh i'm a lesbian and i'm in love with jinx. i'm startled
Love Jinkx!
@@mixtape2185 same!!!
if this were your child, how could you be anything but immensely proud?? well-spoken, intelligent, obviously a kind soul, and talented beyond belief.
She is mind blowingly intelligent, sensitive, serene, eloquent. I love you Jinx, first time I've ever written a comment on youtube.
Jjj
It really says something about a public figure when not a single negative comment about them can be found under a youtube video they're featured in.
I've seen a horrible few on Red and Green, like 'guess who spent her prize money on big macs' It makes me so angry
i love bianca, raja and sharon but for me, jinkx is in another level.
she sure is hun!
In and out of drag, there is something very special (attractiveness, kindness and intelligence) about Raja. But Jinkx!! So terribly wonderful! Yes, s/he is on another level. Can not stop watching her in the 'Beginning' video.
Jinkx and Bianca are the most talented overall(not to be shady I love all the winners)
Bianca can sing, dance, act, be funny, and has polished looks
Jinkx can sing, dance, act, be funny, and be campy.
HA remember when Tyra existed?
Fucking wet noodle...
I feel like Jinkx and Bendelacreme are the two queens that understand drag and gay classic history and incorporate it into their act regularly. They really inspire younger people to seek out the references and to spread the memory.
Jinkx is so intelligent and soft and gentle. The voice just mesmerizes me. It honestly relaxes me. She has such a new and refreshing outlook on drag yet keeps that old style which I adore very much. She was lovely on RuPauls Drag Race and I feel she never lost that gentle touch like so many queens do.
This is why she deserves to win All Stars 7. Yes, her intelligence, eloquence, and deep passion & respect for the art form that is drag are on full display in the interview. But to hear her talk about how drag queens can be essentially living herstory books for the next generation won me over. Her love & respect for the past, present, and future of drag (and dedication to education!) is just queen of all queens material. Shea Couleé brings this too. They’re my AS7 Top 2!
THIS!! #teamjinkx
I felt like I was in class with this interview. The University of Washington needs to find a lecture hall for Miss Monsoon to teach the art and history of drag...
nicksurfs1 💯
?? Are you really advocating in favor of black representation for all the drag queens who happens to be teachers at university? You and the 5 people who liked this are fucking dellusional, get real
@Naomi Rose I think I was replying to someone saying that jinx's video was good but that she wasn't black or smt
"some people don't feel beautiful the way they are" that's so true. gold monsoon
that s why the phrase, you r beautiful just the way you are, touches so many people
For a person portrayed as a sort of silly person on drag race. She is so intelligent and calming to listen to and truly passionate about her art
This queen knows her gay herstory. It's really refreshing to see. I wish there were more people like her.
I noticed the length of this video and debated whether to watch. But, it's Jinkxy, so there really was no question. I blinked and it was over; however not before I fell even more deeply in love with this divine creature. You are an absolute treasure, Miss Monsoon! Brava!
I read your comment and brushed it off, I just checked the time left and my heart dropped I feel like I've been robbed
sometimes it seems like the queens on RPDR are brainless airheads, but Jinkx doesn't come across that way at all. She is eloquent, brainy, and GORGEOUS. Jinkx I love you.
demonitization station it's generally the more intelligent queens that win if you look at it, with the exception of maybe Tyra, the winners are really fucking smart, Raja, Sharon, Chad, Jinkx, Bianca, Violet, Bob are really talented and really smart
There are many smart queens with knowledge nd respect for drag history and more - but sadly a combination of some younger queens thinking they can get by on nothing more than looks and sass, and Drag Race wanting to create reality show storylines for specific queens, means many viewers don't get often to see that.
Mitch S and now Sasha Velour
Mitch S Violet is just a look queen unlike the others. And even Raja for that matter!
hamstercom23 all the winners are intelligent and talented...
I really loved this. Jinkx is so smart and insightful, I could listen to her talk for days.
I feel the exact same way about it.
PUT HER IN A PROPER FILM ALREADY!
yep!
You know Capitol Hill here on CZcams?
Her thing is Broadway though, she loves stage musicals
Didnt she voice a cartoon character too?
Buck O'TUALTHAL She voices Emerald on Steven Universe, a villain.
Jinkx's laugh is what I live for
Check it now after she won all stars
Jinx is an old soul....I think he's absolutely freaking awesome.
I liked what she said about impersonations, I feel like a lot of young Queens now are saying "I WANT TO BE BEYONCE" but they end up being boring because they don't think about the humour and drama they only see the hair and the dance moves.
For real
She referenced Fahrenheit 451. Like, she's on another level to most queens...
for mentioning a super popular novel?
@@ganifraterdogan1062 Yeeesss
Didn't want this video to end, I could sit and listen to Jinkx talk about whatever the fuck she wants to all day and not get bored
She really is phenomenal omg
I wish i could have a conversation with Jinkx. She really is lovely.
Jai Dez same
Jinkx and Sharon are on a whole other level. Two of the most intellegent people i've seen.
I love Jinkx. She was my favourite on RPDR because she's so hard working and passionate. She seems very intelligent and gentle and just an inspirational person!
Jinx is soooo educated when she talks !
but what does educated mean dear? Some people have high degrees and still can't talk like this. You are a high level person or not. No school can teach you that. You mean she talks like a very wise person. That fits it better if you ask me. When people talk to me they also say i'm high educated while i'm not. That's why I have to comment. Your IQ is not stamped on papers dear. With that said
I would guess that she's equally educated when she's not talking.
Easily the most talented and most interesting drag queen to come outta Rupauls Drag Race
Jinkx is so intelligent, talented and beautiful, inside and out. Love her..
I think Andy Warhol would have loved Jinkx.
MrJohnnyPash yes!!! I can just see the portrait in my mind. They would have been legendary together.
ah yes.
Yes! And so would Little Edie.x
MrJohnnyPash this is one of my favorite comments ever
reminds me of holly w a lot actually anyone else see hear and feel that vibe? love her
Jinx is the most genuine queen I’ve ever seen. I feel her longing for something better. Her story is so sad and heartbreaking.
Jinkx is such an amazing and inspirational person. I wish everyone could have someone like her in their life. The wisdom, the creativity, the amazing sense of humor, and the BEAUTIFUL personality...
I really hope she becomes much bigger than she already is. It would be awesome if she had her own show.
Jinkx NEEDS to play Hedwig on Broadway ASAP!!
Every single film she spoke about was part of my video (tape) collection growing up. I knew I was drawn to her personality but it makes sense now - she's the more fabulous, talent, sexier and feminine version of me! Love you Jinkxy
Jinkx deserved to win.. she has a story than anyone can relate to.. tbh..
I could listen her talk all day. What a classy dame - such an interesting, gentle human being. (Would anyone else love to see her in the musical of Grey Gardens?!)
How eloquent and serene she is. Loved watching her talk. Kisses from Spain
This is the Jinkx that i knew would win season 5...So much reference and knowledge that she uses in her drag...She really gets it.
I love everything about this video. It's a talk on female sexuality period & the darkness yet beauty she described her icons with is very empowering. It doesn't mean that all women's icons must be dark but only that to Jinkx those are the icons she felt most identity with in the female sexuality spectrum. Before drag queens, I as a straight young female was almost embarrassed by my sexuality. Drag queens really helped me embrace female sexuality & femininity in general. I guess I look up to them for all the sexuality I suppressed growing up. They are femininity personified & put on display for the world to see & they love it. I really love it too ❤️
I just love this video. Jinkx is so brilliant, articulate, raw and heartfelt in such a lovely way. This appearance really sheds light on yet another dimension of her always fascinating personality.
such a gentle warm person, she's amazingly beautiful in and out, i just can't see her as a human anymore, she must be more than that
Take that Roxxy Andrews!
Thanks, BFI, for this wonderful interview! I just love how thoughtful she is. And those are some great impressions.
Hands down my favorite queen. I’ve never been rooted harder or been prouder when Jinkx won. Can’t wait to see the all winner all stars season!
Jinkx is a huge influence in my life. When she spoke about reinventing yourself I started crying, shes so smart and talented!(I really could listen to her speaking all day)
wish I was more like her
I had no idea who Little Edie was. And now, I just have to thank her, for bringing this up again. It's an incredible reference to know
I feel like she could do shows where she literally just reads to people. Her way of talking is incredibly charming.
I could watch Jinkx talk for hours....
I love this film, Jinx Monsson is one of my favourite drag queens. Long may she reign xxxx
My fav queen of all seasons
i wasn't looking at the TV when Little Edie was talking to the camera. i account thought that I was listening to Jinkx as little Edie on the snatch game! Jinkx rocks!!!!
this is exactly why i love jinkx so much. she's so intelligent and well spoken, and it's so incredibly clear how passionate she is about her art and the history behind it. the fact that she's absolutely drop-dead gorgeous and has the most gentle, soothing voice in existence is also a plus lol
I never really got jinks until after watching this explains a lot about her I'm actually really starting to love her style
It's amazing how jinx presents the information in a very educational and lucid manner, it's not snobby or condescending
She’s so intelligent and can articulate herself so well, I’m honestly so freaking proud of her. What an amazing human being
I'm in love with this set, BFI! The looming Van Eyck makes this whole chat with Jinkx even more bonkers
Jinkx is so fascinating I legitimately thought this video was only five minutes long. I can not believe it’s nearly half an hour long, I was so infatuated with what they were saying the time really just flew by
He😳
@@jaylaw5969 Did I fck their pronouns up? My bad dude
*I fixed it
@@_PrincessMaggot 😍
Completely agree 💯
Jinkx could be a professor discussing the trajectory of gender portrayal in cinema its social significance.
I’ve never seen jinx so calm and not so loud and giddy I’m loving this like motivational speaker type of her
This is my 8th time watching this and listening to her never gets old.
Jinkx is brilliant. Many people who say they do not like her, often times it's simply because they can't understand her or her references.
if I could date jinkx i would in and out of drag.i love her soo much shes such a sweetheart :3
i also always cried when she got upset or hurt
I feel the same. Anybody to date her would be so lucky!!
What a great interview from somebody who you can tell really loves cinema.
Can't believe its taken me this long to stumble across this!! I already LOVED the Hell outta Jinkx but this took it to a whole nother level.
Who are these individuals giving a thumbs down? Jinx is a human being simply sharing her story, I am simply in awe and suddenly have such a renewed respect for her and Sharon Needles...the first 2 "Under the Influence" interviews I have seen so far!!!
Amazing how the other contestants had put jinkx down so much yet jinkx seems to have more attention to detail and also knowledge of drag history then all the queens thus far!!! Jinkx really is by far my favourite
Do you think ru paul will ever take all the winners from all the seasons and make a season for all the winners to see which is the best of them all
Funny you should say that...
@@AnneOnymaus yep! and my jynxy is on to!!!! i am rooting for her all the way even though from some of the interviews i do get the impression already she may have not won but hey that could just be a cover up!!!!
@@scopeouthorrorreviews2682 (I usually watch CZcams on my phone so didn't know you could keep track of comments: Hi!) Yes, she is! I'm rooting for her, too. I think the queens' contracts mean HUGE fines if they let slip any results, so everyone's doing their best fudging in interviews.
i watched this first a year ago and revisiting it i'm again head over heels for jinkx. she's so amazing and original and the best drag race winner.
Love when Jinkx talks about Hedwig bc Hedwig made me appreciate my queerness even more and was the musical that got me into musicals more.
I love the idea of keeping the icons alive...it's like channelling them.
Jinkx, Raja, Sasha, Bob to me are the most passionate and educated winners about their art. I have learned so much from listening to them talk and watching them perform.
I would love to see Jinkx impersonate Helena Bonham Carter!!!!!!!!! Love them both!
It's amazing how similar our tastes are. Jinkx is magick in a bottle.
I have to thank Miss Jinkx for popularizing Grey Gardens. Hardly anyone knew about this film, funnily a lot of Stones fans knew because of the Maysles connection, but the Edie's were too entertaining to be a secret. I wish I'd seen Return To Grey Gardens.
I knew there was a reason to love this person. I am just fortunate to get to know Jinkx through social media.
jinkx has rlly good taste in movies.
one of my favorite videos ever. For some reason listening to her talk about these films is very soothing and i love it.
This interview is ASMR, i love Jinkxy
Jinks and Bianca are my Favorite Drags!
I love her so much, when she said her favourite actresses of all time are bette davis, meryl streep and helena bonham carter I screamed!
aaaah, she mentioned fahrenheit 451! jinkx is so incredibly inspirational
she's so well rounded and cultured
This video means the absolutely world to me, I love it so much and I love you so much Jinkxy. I am so highly inspired by everything you said during this video and I'm so glad this happened. I'm so glad that I fell in love with you Jinkx.
Jinkx is supremely talented ! very well read and she knows her craft ! I love her old hollywood style ! She is one drag queen that the new generation will look up to ! i love her references ! she is so smart !
Great! Miss Monsoon is so intelligent and articulate!
She's so insanely intelligent and has such a beautiful mind. I could listen to her talk for days on end about art and history.
this has opened my eyes so much, i love jinkx so much and this vid makes me love her 10x more
Watching season 10 made me miss Jinkx even more
I dont know how many times have I watched this at 2 am on a week day
Such a pure soul
Jinkx was the best and most impotant win for the show! She's so talanted!
Oh I love jinx even more after this interview
Wig in a box instantly connected with me and still to this day just touches my fucking soul beautifully
I actually discovered Grey Gardens through Jinkx's impression in the Snatch game.
And I see now I wasn't the only one.
I enjoyed the docu and the movie so much, I'm glad she chose Little Edie for the challenge.
Loved this interview :3
This was awesome I love Jinkx even more after watching this.
I loved this @JinxMonsoon! I didn't start doing drag until last year at the age of 43 and it was after my husband and I split after being together for 10 years and married for seven. And I made a list of things that I wanted to do that I've never done but always wanted to but I fear what my family would think or because I had a man in my life which I've only had to I had a long-term relationship in Dallas Texas and I have a long-term relationship where I was married. So the winter after my husband and I split I discovered RooBee Vetiver and taught myself to beat my mug. It kept me busy so I wasn't boohooing, sleeping or overthinking all the time. RooBee's a mixture of Phyllis Diller Joan Rivers, Paula Dean and the women that I grew up around Like aunts grandmothers and women at church. It was therapy for me and I've evolved since RooBees first introduction to Nashville! She is now Sister RooBee Vetiver of SemperFidelisissy with The Music City Sisters of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. That is my nun persona....my drag persona is more glamorous, gender ending and slutty in a high class hooker way, her name is sirLADY Rog-Mahal and I feel super femme-fetal Kill Bill esque when I'm out and about as her. I love those movies where the women are badass spies, with fabulous style and so deadly glamorous! I'm a former United States Marine and was stationed at Naval Submarine Base Bangor in silver dale, WA ! So, sirLADYRog-Mahal ( my boy name is Roger) Mahal makes me feel fierce, deadly, mysterious and oh so gorgeous and glamorous! I❤️drag!
I started watching RPDR on Jinkx's season. I was rooting for her all the way. So glad she won.
You are so young and bring things across so those that really don't know some things see how it really all is real and human. You are someone that I would just love to sit and have coffee with someday and just talk! Thank you for all you have put out there and continue to show how it should be done and truly show talent that is beautiful and amazing!
Wow- So well spoken and talented.
Way to represent! Im honestly not sure who, if anyone, could have done a better job.
This was fascinating. Thank you for this xx
Great interview of Jinkx, so many shared favourote films, love Death becomes her! :D
Jinkx is my favorite ever.
Why am I crying!!!!!!!
why r u unhappy?
