Papa E might just be the greatest front man currently working in rock music. Fantastic stage presence and a sense of humor. Can't wait to see what ole Tobias pulls out for Papa IV!
I came for the oil change. I stayed for Ghost.
Just saw Ghost with Iron Maiden in Lincoln. AMAZING PERFORMANCE. would recommend seeing live.

So pissed...I was HERE for Maiden over the summer, didn't know any of the opening acts at the time so I came just for Maiden's set, but later discovered Ghost to be one of my FAVORITE bands...I COULD'VE KNOWN SO LONG AGO

The hand jewelry and finger tattoo kind of gave away Megan at bass. I think the old band had a well-aged chemistry because some of them had played together for so long, AND they had some songwriting credits. However, I do like the fresh energy of the current band. Yet, I believe it will still be a revolving door of musicians. I think that's Tobias's business model for Ghost.
Bass player is getting into it, and nice to see Wind doing something other than sitting on their ass.
Ghost still sounds great(I've seen them live 3 times). But, those new players just don't have the same presence as the previous incarnation.

They have different personalities, but we haven't had time to get to know them. Alpha and Omega were there a good 6 years and saw the band rise in fame. If these guys are for keeps for a while then we'll get to know them soon.
Just from this video, I would say that they have the same amount, if not a smidge more, stage presence. We can't our resistance to change cloud this transition. The old Ghouls were great, yes, but now we have the opportunity to see a new take on Ghost.
You are full of shit the new members are more aggressive big time. Their energy is through the roof. Completely disagree Chris. Their stage presence is incredible.

Just saw Ghost with Iron Maiden in Tampa. They lost something, something big. They now sound like a garage band. Loud and proud, but just not right. Mistakes were evident, and the sound, tone and timing of each instrument was, unfortunately, incorrect. An amateur attempt.
I saw them in Jacksonville, FL last year. Not only was that show incredible, but the musicians were superb, accurate, soulful and enjoyable. That version of Ghost was truly great.
They had something really good. I won't go see them again.

I agree with what you are saying, but think you overstate a bit. I do prefer the previous lineup, but this lineup certainly is satisfying, if not as sublimely so as the previous lineup. I also like this new bassist better than the old water.
All that having been said, Omega's presence is sorely missed.
As I mentioned, the previous incarnation of Ghost was truly superb. I can't understand the need to screw that up and start over. Truly good bands refine their sound, honed to perfection by passion, to the point where it's impossible to duplicate and only the real thing will do. The secret to success, if you will.
Consider the Roger Waters version of Pink Floyd, as example number 1. Roger's wonderfully derailed voice remains, but Gilmore's guitar is beyond absent, as it Dave's voice. Not to mention the loss of Wright. Just not the same, not as good, the magic is gone, and Roger as Floyd is simply nowhere near as pleasing. I have no interest in seeing Waters again, it's a one note show.
cujet It's clear to me, that Ghost is going to be a more Zappa-Bowie -esque project going forward. Not in musical style obviously, but in the band's organization, and Tobias' role in it. For better or worse.
Zappa-Bowie would be awesome, but I suspect it's going to be more like Marilyn Manson where the live rental musicians always fall short of the potential.

Honestly this is a completely different vibe of ghost now
they pushed the visual easthetics but the sounds is so tame. Maybe the lyrics are profanatory, but i could easily see some first degree punk-rock there instead.

The new ghouls are too animated. The older ones had a creepy, quiet feel to them and let their instruments speak. These new guys/girls do too much in my opinion. Still a great performance song wise just prefer the older Ghost.

Singer is the guy who legally owns the band name and he's still there
He also wrote almost all of the songs and plays guitar and bass on most of the albums
Prince wrote the songs and recorded all the instruments, too, he also had a band...well actually two, the Revolution and the New Power Generation. They weren't considered expendable.

the fake keyboard solo was a little over the top... Normally when they do this keyboard solo it doesn't sound perfectly like the album and in this video it sounds exact and the ghoul is moving around all crazy... I wonder what that was all about.

It's Per Eriksson from Bloodbath and formerly from Katatonia. He is a skinny and small guy, also he is mainly a guitar player, so people don't actually associate him with playing bass and this generates some confusion with the former bassist Megan Thomas.
