This just reminded me of when they were yet to release their song "Hero", when they released the MV Teaser and just had the instrumental part played on that, that's exactly what I had in mind and what it felt like, like as if it reminded me of ghibli movies cuz that's what it felt like listening to it.
LUCY is a band that creates ambient music. They include sounds that we hear from our surroundings. Specifically, in "Snooze" they have the alarm as the ambient sound. So when you hear their music, it helps you somehow picture a scene. Honestly, *Snooze* and *Stove* are my favorite songs from LUCY. In "Stove," they have the sound of fire crackling from the fireplace/stove, strong wind/blizzard bcs it's winter, bell ringing, footsteps, and opening/closing of door. You can just close your eyes and imagine the scenes play in your head while the music is playing. I would really appreciate if you try reacting to "Stove" as well!
i remember in superband when some members had gone out to record the ambient sounds for a song, it was funny/cool and now it's their bands signature haha how wholesome
Oh man, "Stove" is so beautiful, it's my favourite song by them as well! I'm tearing up just thinking about it XD it's so comforting and quiet and fills you with warmth! I agree, it would be so cool if they could react to it!

I love Lucy but haven't dived completely in and this was the first time I heard this song and when that violin part came towards the end holy I teared up
Lucy's music is all so beautiful, and they dont have a very large discography yet so its easier to listen to it all :) I highly recommend their performance of Flare from the competition show (there is a studio version of it too but personally the live one is so much more magical)

so another fun fact: the other people mentioned in production are Park Jihwan, who was another participant on Superband and actually came in as a duo with Wonsang (Lucy's bassist), and O.Yeon who has worked with them as a part of the producing group Yenevara. so it's basically just a big happy Superband family! they're all very close ^^
AH! and I can't believe I almost forgot - one of those names is Lee Juhyuk, who was the first vocalist Lucy had when they originally formed on Superband, so he helped create the first version of Snooze on the show. he's actually a part of a trio called GIFT (and their bassist Kim Hyungwoo was also on the show haha), and he ended up deciding to return to them after the show ended. Choi Sangyeop, the current vocalist, was also a part of the show and because everyone there is so close with each other, they called him up and asked him to become their new vocalist! it was really wholesome and both Juhyuk and Sangyeop are very important parts of Lucy :)
Also Yenevera is the producing trio consisting of Wonsang Jihwan and O.yeon. They produced and worked on some songs of Lucy together with the other 3 members of Lucy.
Man.... Their discography is just incredible. They have literally no bad songs. They were one of my favorite groups/bands that debuted last year.

idk if you know this but stove was an unreleased song for a long time before it was rearranged and officially released.. i personally prefer the old arrangement because the released one sounds too extra if that makes sense? it was comforting the way it was but the official version was embellished even more so that it lost some of the comforting feel that the original has :(
I really love LUCY. They definitely have their own distinct sound that is so refreshing in kpop/band music. I've been hoping y'all would react to them! So glad you did! I hop you'll do more of their music. I think y'all will enjoy it!

@@chs9607 hello! i’ve been learning for 8 months now, i started in november. i practice 30 mins-1 hour each day so my progress has been steady. i truly believe that it’s never too late to learn something, so don’t worry about your age. there are people who picked up the violin in their 30s and 40s. the only real requirement is patience! if you want to give it a try, go for it (:

also Shin Yechan, the violinist, actually used to busking for years before joining superband with his friends and got viral for few times in Korea because of his playing!!
I truly hope you dissect more songs by LUCY because they have a distinctly sound. They like to mix ambience sounds with their instruments and the mixes are always amazing *-* I would like to recommend flare to look specifically to that aspect of their music. Also, their main producer is the bassist so maybe because of that the bass usually has a great role in the undertone of their songs.

oh wow I found out abt them through Young K as well! Someone on twt posted a photo of Yechan's violin case that YK signed after LUCY's Idol Radio guesting and I got curious. The rest was history lol I was hoping more people would check them out through the collab, im so happy you ended up liking them. 🥰
This absolutely made my day. LUCY is my 3rd ult group and it makes me so happy to see people appreciate them. Also hey Umu, LUCY did some really good covers of Man in a Movie by Day6, OHIO by Crush and a track from Howl's Moving Castle's OST. I think you would like them.
How about reacting another K-band 'ONEWE'?? I recommend not only listening to the song "Rain To Be", but also watching the mv about it. I was really shocked to see it. When I heard their music, I couldn't help but love them. That song was made by the member "Ganghyun(guitar)". (The band 'ONEWE' belongs to RBW (Mamamoo, Oneus, etc.). However they did not gather by a company, but themselves. At first, three members(drum, bassist&rapper, guitar) became friends at the same music academy and started making music together. And then another member(vocal&piano) was a neighborhood friend of one of the three members who first started. Finally, in one music contest where they(existing4members) were sessions, they met a great vocal guy who was a contestant. And they suggested him being a member of their band. So all gathered. It's like a drama.)

I also recommend ONEWE's some covers: HIP(mamamoo), LATATA((G)I-del), Dolphin(ohmygirl), twit(Hwasa) and etc. (I especially recommend the cover of LATATA it was amazing and I was shoked)
I recommend ONEWE too. So many great bands out there.
Unfortunately Onewe and Hippipola are not even on the list considered for review by them - doing these bands a major injustice since they play and write their own music, find it weird that most of the songs on the list are composed , arranged and instruments played by musicians other than the idols. I only come to this account when they review k bands.

@@QueensThief76455 I was surprised they reviewed Lucy, who are very creative but not well known. The gate keepers whoever they are made a good discovery. I can’t believe that these gatekeepers listen to The whole body of Kpop and come up with their lists. I wonder how they can say that the ones dismissed in the never to be reviewed list have nothing original or new to offer. It appears that the majority that pass whatever criteria they have are the popular songs by well known performers. Once in awhile rare gems like Lucy get through.

When Jason said about introducing classical music through pop music, I remember yechan the violinist once said that he also has similar goal of introducing violin to the general public. That's why he started busking as a violinist years before he debuted with lucy

you guys should react to LUCY's whole discography. they're THAT talented.
I don't know yet if Umu mentions this in the video but actually Snooze is a song they composed when in Superband. Back then they had Gift's vocal Juhyuk as the vocalist not Sangyeop, and Juhyuk is among who composed.
Also, with the song they refer to how hard stressful it is to be an adult, and to look back into childhood and reminiscence
Walwals (Lucy Fans) like me who have been a fan of both ReacttotheK & Lucy can't explain the joy from this commentary. THIS VID JUST MAKES ME FEEL SO PROUD OF OUR BOYS! And because of this I know one day the wholesome, sweet, childlike music they make would be heard and recognized by more people just like any other popular groups and bands. With Lucy, I could say that they sound like a mixture of Yellowcard and Asian Kung Fu Generation (particularly the song Hero(. It's nice to see them get praise as they really are talented. It's especially nice to hear Yechan get praised for his Violin playing as that is what originally made me a fan of the group. K-Rock bands kind of have it rough as while they can play their own instruments and many write their own songs. It sometimes seems like some in certain sectors of Rock fandom see them as "lesser" Rock bands due to the perceived manufactured nature of the groups.
I'd also say if you haven't already check out Hoppipolla (this was the group that won Super Band the show that Lucy came in second place in) and their debut song Enough and preferably the long version of the MV for the song as it's rare that I've seen something that dark as debut MV for a group.

It's my 2nd time crying on the first time i heard a song. i never heard this song before, but they really put me into some familiar feeling, i'm not gonna say it remind me of my childhood cause mine is such a pain in my ass. it feels like the childhood that i wish i have. this song fed my inner child. thankyou so much

Wonsang (the bass player) is the main composer, and he's just genius, all his songs are so musically interesting and nice! and LUCY are simply great musicians, and it's always very exciting to wait for their new music, because it's SO GOOD UGH

O.Yeon, Jihwan and Wonsang (the bassist) is a producing team called Yenevara. They produced a lot of song together before Super Band, during Super Band and even until now, for every LUCY's albums.
Aww I waited so long for this and still end up a day late lol I loved the comments, especially pointing out how the pauses in the song are them hitting snooze until the end where they repeat the note to wake us up. I'm mad at myself for not realizing that honestly having listened to the song so many times

It's now Nov 13th in Korea but I just wanna say HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO SNOOZE MV (just the mv coz the song was made while they were in a survival show called JTBC Superband last July 2019). Snooze bridge will forever be the best bridge for us Walwals!!!
