2005-2006 Polaris Sportsman 500 starter

2005 Polaris Sportsman starter not engaging..the Bendix turned out to be the culprit..lmao blooper real for calling it a spandex... instead of a Bendix...I was very tired when I made the video..

I told my wife my four wheeler needs some new spandex. She laughed at me. Figure I'll just get a Bendix and clean the cover with spandex and see if that helps

mine did that it was because the rubber on the pull rope wasent seated around the pull rope cover that's usually the problem there is a drain plug on bottom of cover

My 450 is doing the same thing right now. did you ever end up replacing the bendix or is it still working as it should? When I took mine out everything moved and seemed to be ok.

Yes I replaced the Bendix about 3 wks later with the new starter they came as a package...Starter and Bendix off ebay

Hai sir I have Polaris atv 250 two stoke engine bike esterday what happen I am going to change a battery . Wrongly connected but engine start after rectifyeris burning i going to stop the engine.afer we are going to connect the correct way but self moter sound only coming.but wrong connect self moter start engine also start but correct way to connect is not working.what i going to to please give good solution

Yeah coffee didn't kick in that morning..Brain wasn't functioning..

But how do you remove it

Remove the bendix...the bending just pulls straight out..there is a bearing in the back so make sure that is still there before u reinstall it..there are other videos on how to replace the Bendix..I was supposed to put the how to replace but the video was lost..
