  • Here is the last of speech of the leader of the State of Biafra before his departure from Biafra to Ivory Coast. The speech was broadcast on Radio Biafra and in it, Ojukwu informed the people that he was going abroad in search for peace. In truth however, he was gone with no intention to return soon. Biafra capitulated two days after his departure.

Which spirit?, when something becomes a spirit, it can never have any physical existence. So they should stop saying it is a spirit and fight for it's actualization through dialogue.

Start working on the ideology by focusing on developing the East. Biafra as a word is not an ideology but a borrowed name from Portuguese records on West Africa. Ironically, Biafra real roots is in modern day Cameroon where history showed that a trading center existed around the 15th to 16th century.

Please point of correction. Biafra comprises of South East and South South. South West was never part of Biafra at any point in history. Thanks for conscientious effort to bring this nostalgia back into life. Ojukwu was indeed a very courageous, fearless and purposeful man. He was a man of vision, a man that saw tomorrow. Biafra lives forever and will soon become a reality albeit posthumously for our once great leader.

All you and your kind do is make your lives unstable by refusing to find peace in your nation. A nation that you could easily make to work for you if you would learn how others did it. But you refuse to rather, you regularly demean and disparage your nation and other tribes.
If you truly love your Igbo land, why not stay there and make it great? You claim that other tribes treat you bad yet, you live your own land and go to theirs and there feel safer living and doing business. You do so cause you are afraid of your own tribes people, right? Ofcourse you claim that others pay your bros and sisters to kidnap or kill you. Who do you think would believe such? Are same others that now order you to stay at home on Mondays? Do you know how many of you fellow Igbos suffer or die each Monday due to that stay at home? People, think to see how you hurt yourselves! Take this as someone that wants the best for you all! Or you can do what most of your people often do: curse, blame, threaten, call those within you that disagree with your views “saboteurs”, etc. I hope you would rather think!

Bros. You are on point joo. Don't mind the opportunists who always join the winning side, wether by hook or crook. Gen. Philip Effiong of Cross River State was the second in command through our the war (2½yrs). This is why Nigeria banned History in schools so that the Government and the older generation of South South that benefited from the spoils of the war, can brainwash the newer generations easily. That's the simple truth. Forgive the newer generations of South South, for they know not what they do.

U must understand that Biafra is the voice of the universe in the people of Biafra. U must also not make a shabby representation of Ojukwu s choices during the crisis. The man was a legend and his name glistens in gold on the platter of history. Ojukwu was an agent of the universe for redemption and liberty,. Biafra remains a force in the future that will eventually crush all of its historical opponents. So do not be in a hurry to call it a lost battle. Yes, Ojukwu left at the time, and wisely so. But listen, the man was just a hand of nature to build a jet of destiny, an ideological embodiment of a people which like a space craft would travel through time and history and ultimately land with the shout of victory over imperialism and neocolonialism, not just for the Biafran people in particular, but for Africa in general

Ojukwu knew as an experienced soldier that victory was a probability. He had never really wanted to start this war knowing as an intelligent officer who was well schooled, the consequences if losing the war. He knew what he had on ground against the Federal government of a Nation already getting oil boom benefits. The thing is he was in a tight corner from the on set of the war, he had no choice but to fight and not live as a coward watching his people being slaughtered in the North. He had no choice despite knowing its going to be a 50 50 chance to victory. If it were me, I would do same. He remains my Hero and my Mentor. Rest in peace Great One, never to be forgotten. A true soldier indeed@@linkso7166

Biafra ceases to exist except the Southeast come up with a different name and ideology. Ojukwu lied to his people that he was going out to search for peace when actually he was escaping. Moreover, he claimed to be fighting for independence but in the midst of it, he was busy subduing and carrying out silent genocides on those who gave him support at the beginning. The force evacuation of some communities in the old Rivers state to massacre of Bini people in the Mid-West at Urhonigbe, Abudu and others have not been properly addressed.

Ojukwu's flight to Ivory Coast you mentioned, but you did not mention the details of the peace treaty that General Effiong composed and wrote, with the reconstruction policy of the former Eastern Nigeria that General Effiong drafted to General Gowon in that tendious time and period under the power of big guns that Effiong and his cabinet and even Amandi with my father went through, to save the blood of Easterner Nigerians and the blood ofctge Igbos. Unfortunately, Effiong and his cabinet were forgotten about immediately after the war by the Nigerianvadministration, and the Igbos that he fought to save.

I get your point. It was a war of many intrigues. General Philip Effiong was almost shot. Philip suffered so much privation. Soon after the surrender, Philip granted to the media and the next thing that happened to him was that, Col. Obasanjo sent for him. He travelled to Port Harcourt and met Obasanjo. Obasanjo queried him for granting the interview and locked 🔒 him up for above 90 days. Several people were absorbed into the Nigerian Army, but Philip was dismissed without pay and pension. A video on Philip will be published here soon.

When i hear these thinks it pains me . What did the Igbo do to the Europeans that they regarded Igbos as their enemies? Imagine every kind of war machines, weapons bombs were were loaded in the Northners barracks, Igbo had nothing the whole world supported the Northerners to killing the Igbo because or their interest. Did the catholic helped? Were Igbo not of Catholic faith? When charity came did they share any foods to the children as they pretened. Here they created classes as well. Things were given to the well to do people while children dying for keashiokor were seen dropped dead everytime, the Europeans loaded these foods in the weigh house and when we come to beg they would tell us to go home there is no food. Did we know that there was a house full of food? That was only when we heard that the war has ended. see all they had while we were humgry. God help us if Oti has forgotten this and bring this kind in Igbo land to firm he us a sale out. Everything about the starvation of the Igbo i know it. I saw it and felt it unforgetable.

Thank you for your observation. Did Ojukwu have children before Bianca came into his life? Do your research and keep an open mind. Also, "people did not insist that Ojukwu should leave". It doesn't even make sense thinking that way bro. Ojukwu was their commander and the people had fought so keep for 4 years to keep Biafra. How then would they tell their commander to leave. They looked up to him to the very end. Rather, it was Ojukwu who accessed the situation critically and decided to leave.
