That humming and grinding sound sounds like some sounds I've heard before while taking a nap. This track is like a psychic intrusion and it's perfect for this game.
I was thinking similar, just look at the video: What would you do if the only stimuli you had was this sound on repeat loudly forever and blinking white lights? You'd probably close your eyes and eventually fall asleep and IDK about you but anytime i fall asleep to weird sounds like this or during a horror movie or something my dreams are pretty awful. I'd say that's a psychic intrusion.
