    I was shocked at the low weight but when I saw the range then I understood why. I'm sure that range is enough for most people anyway if they got a charger at home

    I’m looking at a 2020 one of these with 10,000 miles on car giant for sale at £13,700 and am seriously tempted! Amazing discount from new. British Gas EV tariff would cost £3 to charge up 😂 insane value

      Good prices on those now but I bet it will be hard to sell it at all in the future, with all other cars on the market having much more range

    I've had an SE for about two and a half years. You are spot on regarding the fun factor. This is the most fun EV you can get bar none. In warmer climates, the range is much better. I live in OZ and get 230 to 250km (145 - 155 miles) per charge. Of course driving in a spirited way decreases range quite a bit, but who cares when you are having fun. The range prediction is ludicrously low, about 40% out in mine. It claims 160km (100 miles) even after just travelling 230+ on the last charge. It doesn't learn. Most people completely ignore the guess o metre (GOM).

    • @js-hl5hv
      @js-hl5hv Před 9 měsíci +3

      @@deepakvrao Yes. The MINI is designed to be charged to 100%. It has a reasonable buffer in the battery. After 3 years, no noticeable degradation. There is no way to limit the charge to 80% as it is not needed. It can also fully charge overnight from a standard 240v socket

    • @deepakvrao
      @deepakvrao Před 9 měsíci

      @@js-hl5hv thanks. Will charge to 100 percent and see what range I get in India. Not the warmest area where I live but consistently above 20C or so in the daytime.

      Yes I do. 7.4kw home charger will cause it no issues. Rapid charging to 100 regularly isn't advised.@@deepakvrao

  • @Sidmi5utc

    I have a 2023 SE lvl3 . Pod Point home charger installed as part of the deal. The range is very conservative, the car will do well over 100 miles to a charge. Brilliant round town, very quick acceleration. Don't be negative about putting air con or heated seats on. I thought like that at the start, but until you get one and live with it your attitude changes. I use the AC when I need it and have had the heated seats on (which is less battery energy than using the cabin heater) A lot of reviewers harp on about the range, blah blah but again until you get to live with one, they don't know what their talking about. This is a town/city car and was never designed for motorway driving.

    There's something about a small electric car that makes it feel so fast and nippy, the fact that there's no powerloss through the usual gears and drivetrain of its fossil fueled siblings. That's why they're so lovely to drive around town and on b-roads with multiple turns and speed changes. I've driven the Peugeot e208 a couple of times, good fun, yet still a little heavy and boring of course on the motorway.

  • @chrishyde1216
    @chrishyde1216 Před 7 měsíci

    Most comments, here and elsewhere, suggest that the range is much better than suggested by the car and can do 140-145 miles in good conditions. As it's so light, it can be very efficient, e.g. 5 miles per kw, depending on how it's driven and the weather.

  • @SleepyMountains-sq2lx
    @SleepyMountains-sq2lx Před 6 měsíci

    I charge mine about once per week at the local free community Charge Point charger. ~25kW on average for 100 miles in any season but winter. The cold weather diminishes battery power along with using the Heat Pump and seat and strewing wheel heating. But fun to drive despite the short range.

    One of the best EVs. If you buy this, you know your use case, and likely have another car. The range figure is actually conservative (US). It's the most reliable EV, and one of the most reliable cars of all.

      They’re all done on exactly the same bit of tarmac. Dragy just isn’t that consistent unfortunately. I do 5 runs in total to try and get the most accurate time and it does seem be good at that atleast.

      @@Jon77777Going to at least test drive one today. They look like loads of fun and the range doesn’t worry us as it’s for local driving/work commute. It’ll be a third car after an Audi RS4 Avant and a heavily modified Peugeot 308 Gti. Should be the perfect 3 car garage! 🤞🤞🤞I wish you loads of fun in the Ibiza. We just sold a vRS Octavia estate that we had for 7 years from new! It was mapped to 300bhp and was phenomenal. Did everything so so well and was actually a hoot to drive on the twisties.
