This song, in it's base, translated from French: French realities of the 1870s - early 1890s are mentioned: the Paris Commune (1871), the terrorist attacks of the anarchist on Ravachol in 1892 (executed on July 11, 1892). The song in various versions was popular in anarchist units during the Russian Civil War. The first lines are quoted in the proclamation of the anarchists of the underground "You must not delay" (Moscow, 1919):
Anarchist brothers, take dynamite! Bombs in hand! Without mercy we will strike the executioners of the people, the executioners of the revolution! Brothers, "let us sing a song to the thunder of blows, to explosions and bullets, to the flames of fires; Under the black banner of a gigantic struggle, we will drown the grief of the people in the blood" of executioners and jailers.
