- Another song from the Soviet movie Tractorists (1939), the name translates to Three tankmen. This one is about the Soviet-Japanese border conflict, Battle of Khalkhin Gol. It sings about the crew of a BT-7 succesfully defending their Soviet motherland and her Mongolian ally from the Japanese invaders.
Ironically, I was only able to find some anime version of this song with English lyrics on CZcams, so I decided to upload the original one.
Many versionsof the song, excluding this one, replace "samurai" with "group of enemies" ("вражья стая")

As patriotic as a song needs to be. Really, the movie it's from, Tractorista, is a wonderful period piece. The highest production values, convincing sets, and excellent acting.
My favorite patriotic song. It is full of workers' pride in doing one's honest duty. Here, in the US, we don't have the same feeling in ours. John Philip Sousa had a different muse.
Perhaps the best song to come out of the war was Lili Marlene. Objectifying (on both sides), it is visceral, guttural, promising much, while admonishing the soldier that life is cheap and will go on without him . . . if need be.
The USA's very best effort was Copeland's "Fanfare for the Common Man". If one has patience in slow cooking grandeur it is a magnificent work.
I'll add "Sing, Sing, Sing" written by Louis Prima and reaching its exponent of energy under Benny Goodman.
