I'm from Germany. I saw Rammstein live the first time when they were still a support band at a small venue, about 25 years ago. Can't even remember who the main act was. But I do remember, that even back then Rammstein had tons of pyrotechnics 😅

The rhythm guitarist (usually standing to the left of Tll) is Paul landers
The lead guitarist (to the right of Till, black hair and a red armband) is Richard Kruspe.
You can also check "LINDEMANN". It's a side project of Till. And also "Emigrate", the side project of guitarist, Richard Z Kruspe (it's his birthday today, btw!)

Indeed, as has been said here, this move is so-called "The Till Hammer". From what I've heard - not claiming it to be a fact, just what I've heard from different sources - during one show Till actually twisted his knee pretty much out of the joint. Without stopping the show or letting anyone know what happened, he simply continued to perform and literally hammered his knee back with his fist. People actually thought that this was a part of his performance and loved it so much that Till adapted that move and now everyone knows it as "The Till Hammer".
Some other sources say that he injured his knee in a car accident instead. Like I said, I don't know myself the real story but it makes up a great legend nevertheless and thus the move was named :)
Tonight would have been the Rammstein concert in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, for I've got tickets for my birthday from my neighbour. So feeling a bit melancholic at every live Rammstein performance I see in CZcams tonight. It is postponed to August 2021, realy looking forward to that, but still so far away...
As a Rammstein fan I feel really lucky to speak German almost as a native speaker and understand everything they are singing, giving it an extra dimension to their performances. No other band beats Rammstein! There are enough suggestions for further reactions, but Ich tuh dir weh in MSG and Mein Herz brennt in Paris are my special favorites.
My sister lives and work in Netherlands for a couple years now, before in Eindhoven and now she's in Terneuzen now😀 You guys can speak 3, 4 languages on average from what I know😂 hsha

Some say, that sometime in the beginning of Rammstein's career, Till dislocated his knee during a show. He didn't want to stop so he punched his knee back into place and kept going. The band told him that it looked good, so he started doing it in concerts. And that's how the Till Hammer was made. Don't know if it's true, but it sounds like a cool theory!

You need to see some of the older one. From the 90s early 00s. They were younger and were more aggressiv in their performance. Now is more show. Don't get me wrong what they do now is awesome. But of course when you are younger you are wilder ;).

My first experience was in the early 90ies, at the age of 9. I was scared, I was confused, I was deeply impressed and I am a fan till today!!
Many years ago Tills kneecap jumped out and he tried to put it back in place by hitting his knee. Later the guitarist Paul said that it looked cool, so the Till Hammer was born 😂🤘🏼

As usual with Rammstein, the song has several ways to understand it. One is that the band slips into the role of the media and criticizes them. The other one is the one you see in the video. The band celebrates themself and lets themself be celebrated by their fans. However, as with the media, they also take criticism at the same time.
