As a hairdresser I'd say definitely stay within the same brand but mixing colours is fine. We do it all the time.

That color looks gorgeous on you. 😊 I accidentally got pretty much the same color in a crazy, happy ending accident. Lol. Went to Sally's and got 2 bottles of the mega reds. Long story short, one of the bottles was old and had oxidized making my hair a horrible purple like red. I was going to be in a wedding and was not having that. So they gave me some arctic fox sunset orange. That made it even worse! Turned like a ruby purple orangish RED! GRRRR! So I washed my hair like10 times, went to walmart and got a honey brown color box dye. Whewww. Looked normal for wedding pics thank God! Got tons of compliments on my hair (which is about your color) and I love it too. Glad you have an easier way to achieve this color LOL.😸😸😸😸😸 Your method is what I'll be using in about a month.💜

I love L' Oreal brand! I have used it for years and agree , the conditioner is the best! I don't buy conditioner anymore as I just use the one I get with the hair color . I used to be dark brown then used the High Lift 63,lightened it up then used Golden Blonde 8G and decided I wanted some red and just used the Reddish Blonde GR. Honestly, my nose isn't that good, but maybe the mixing of the two could give a more stronger smell. Love that color and would try if I would go darker!

Also thinking about henna, my hair is lighter copper and i mix like 1 part henna + 3 parts cassia and it's awesome! I have brown hair but i dye it first with 'hairdresser dye' and use a mix of 8+9+10 blonde and it just lightens enough to put the henna/cassia over it. And the color stays so long!!! (i use henna like twice a year)

Great and very informative vids! The reds are gorgeous on you.. I'm also a fanatic about finding that perfect fiery red thats a mix of bright orangey highlights and vibrant red undertones with very little to no browns. I recently had yet another hairdresser take a crack at my colour, but yet again it was a miss. It came out super bright orange, but at least she got the burgundy/browns out that other other hairdressers put in...ack! So over my bright orange copper I added "Ion 7RR" from Sally's and the colour is perfecto! Give it a try when your hair has plenty of highlights and you'll love it. Also as an amazing colour boost I was using a product called EVO Fabuloso in copper and the color is AMAZING!! again, the perfect bright firey red and it makes your hair feel brand new! but careful with that shit... it will stain anything and lasts just as long as dye. It's not cheap but one bottle using it once between dyes (leave in for about 15-30 min) last me almost a year at 2 hair washes/week.

Dye can’t lift dye. That is why, no matter what blonde you will mix in the red, you never get a color brighter or lighter than your currant one.

Do I use both bottles ? Seems like I’ll be using double the amount of hair color. Should I mix them just use half of it or do I have to completely use both boxes in full?
Maybe get a bigger applicator bottle for next time and try 2 parts blonde 1 part red! Like but two boxes of blonde and 1 box of red and use more blonde then red to see if you achieve the lighter copper you are hoping for. ( secretly asking for myself because I want a light copper hair color for myself😂 ) I’m sure you wont need 3 boxes of hair dye but you can calculate the 2 parts blonde to 1 part red into smaller ratios

I have been using RR07 for several yrs. and my problem is finding it available in stores. I prefer the copper as it doesnt seem to fade as easy. I have found it on Amazon and noticed that the labeling is a bit different between a couple vendors. Dont think they are fake but wondering if an older product & packaging) I have not given thought at all on mixing 2 colors... Just may try this! My hair does have a lot of original gray. Do you think this would be a problem. Ive been dying my hair since 1976... so never let it get to the point.. as "how much gray" . ;) Great video
While mixing same brand’s dyes, it’s fine. When one time I took two different shades of blonde from two different brands, it turned my hair blue. 😂 Guessing, each brand has different combo of chemicals and you never know it (it’s the reason why hairdressers in overall doesn’t suggest any box dye as you never know what to expect out of it). However, since age of 16 I’ve been dying my hair ginger most of the times, and always wanted it to be ginger. Not red, not pure orange, but bright ginger. And last year when I thought my usual on the go Garnier Color Naturals 7.40 is still way too red-ish, I mixed it together with Super Blond E0 from the same dye line. As the blonde includes the bleaching powder, I didn’t use it. Despite that color was really bright and much lighter, much more orange. As my roots are quite dark cool blonde, I was repeating hair dying procedure every two weeks and by time the hair became a lot lighter as it turned out the hair dye still lifts the hair color itself. Maybe that’s the case this time also. 🤷🏼♀️ Anyway, as you were mixing pretty red color together with a blonde, the outcome is still really nice and dope as it’s looks more ginger than red. I even started to remember those times when I had such hair color. I still think it’s beautiful. ♥️ And it really looks good on you! ♥️🔥

Hello, would it class as same brand if I mix Loreal Excellence with Loreal Preference? Or should I have preference 7.432 copper and excellence 8.3 golden blonde. I haven't been brave enough yet to try. Please someone share experience.

You should look into henna. I went down a red hair rabbit hole a couple years ago (how I found you btw) and my hair was so shot by the end. Henna actually saved my hair and I’ve gotten some of the best red results ever with it. I can put it in my almost black hair and get a dry noticeable bright red tone so I can only imagine how gorgeous it would come out on your hair.

Hi there! I tried it, not a bad combination. The color is nice, but i think i prefer the results of the last color mix, it’s a lot more intense which i love. I want to achieve a golden strawberry blonde color, or light copper blonde. I've been thinking of mixing a golden blonde and a bright copper color. I want it light/medium, but vibrant - not a dark red. Open to recommendations if you've ever done a color like this.
Dee Are depending on what color your hair is now I wouldn’t try it unless your starting color is at least a level 7.. that being said a great color formula I used to get a nice strawberry blonde color is by Wella 8rg 7g 8g with a 20 or 30 volume developer depending on what my starting color is.. if I want it redder I add more 8rg. I also put some coconut oil on my ends and let it sit awhile & then I color it. I got this formula from a woman on CZcams so to give her credit her name is girl get glamorous. The color comes out gorgeous!!
Nice bright copper red color : lush caca rouge henna. Look up videos for it. Natural and won’t hurt your eyes and lungs.
Henna is 100% permanent though, and once you put it in, you can’t get rid of it unless you cut the hair off. I learned the hard way, and I’m stuck with what I have now. My hair also doesn’t take dye evenly now.

Nhung Trinh you should really go to Sally’s beauty supply. I would never personally mix box dye.. yes they are both from L’Oreal but I feel like that would be a weird mix. Auburn brown with light reddish blonde?!I don’t use box dye in general.. what is your starting base color? If it’s platinum in your picture you’re definitely going to want to use a red filler so the color will take evenly

Why don’t you just order from Sally’s? Using box dye is blehhhh! You can you the permanent/semi permanent/Demi permanent. I think you would find something that would work for you really well! You would also save money 😀 I’m NOT downing you whatever works for you works for you but I think you should try it out! I color my hair a coppery red in the winter time 6r & 7rc and in the summertime I go a bit lighter and I use 7r & 8g. Plus my scalp/eyes don’t burn 😀
Your hair looks the same as the RR07 no beed to use 9gr color doesn’t lift color. and the strong smell is the ammonia which is horrible.
