#premierleague #football #transfer - Sport
Thanks so much to the SDS boys for coming on! Who else should we get on Team Talk?
Maybe the sidemen? Could a fun episode, don't know how much football IQ would be talked about, but great content.
@@superfatman1231000bad shout honestly
Ambitious but some former players turned pundits (Neville, Carragher, etc)
@FootballDaily Pat and Henry would add a lot!
Lads from Pitchside and The Club could be good, maybe in a 3v3v3 type format
sam never misses with shocking takes
What was shocking? He was reasonable throughout
normally not his takes, they’re normally alright. it’s his reasoning and how he articulates it. Dreadful
He did well this entire episode. Big up Sam
Honestly FD should get rid of him
utterly painful isnt it. his reasoning for someone bad is always ‘i expected him to be good so it’s just disappointing’. what are you on about
This is a very pleasant surprise. Loving the consistency guys. I’d love one 1 hour episode of Football Daily content each day, but these 4 episodes per week are pretty great as well. Thank you so much.
1000%. hour long content >>>
Thank you mate!

@@FootballDailygreat content, love it. May I suggest removing the background music it’s overwhelming and loud imo but i maybe in the minority.
Huge agree!
YES!! The collab we all wanted!! Two best football podcasts around
You wanted, so we delivered!

A lot of the Tonali transfer criticism from you just seems to come a fundamental misunderstanding of what is going on at Newcastle both in terms of our tactical system and our financial situation
Though I disagree that Tonali is 'over priced' Sorry Dougie - if Rice is worth 100m, but sorry Tonali is worth 70m price tag. I regularly watch Serie A (more than you guys) . He is young. Great on the ball. Tough tackler and never stops for the team. Tactically disciplined. Can play as a 6 like he has at times with Milan and Brescia , but is more as a box-box player 8 and can cover a lot of ground. Newcastle fans will love him. He can the gattuso role for them and free up creative players. his stats prove it.
The problem with their take is it wasn’t £70m for Tonali. It’s 70m euro including all add ons. The reported figure is £52m increasing to about £59m with add ons.
Less than £60m for a young player with the quality of Tonali seems a good price in todays market (which has gone crazy but that’s another discussion)
It made me laugh when they were talking about his price when they said “what is the price? 70m? Yeah 70m euro, 80 million? 80m pound, it’s too much”.
There’s a huge difference between 50-60m and 80m in todays market.
Southampton want £50m for Lavia or James Ward Prowse. Tonali is surely worth more?
The whole crying thing is silly too, it may be true but plenty of reports including his agent saying it isn’t true and he’s keen on the move. Why to people read 1 article and take it as gospel but ignore other credible sources? If Romano tweeted and said he’d cried I’d believe it but there’s so much click bait around now you have to be careful who to believe
@@andrewcharlton6080 such a good point. 👍🏿
The price Arsenal have paid for havertz and rice is worse than what Newcastle paid for tonali
@@brandonmacleod1058 exactly even Man Utd paying for 60m for Mount with one year left on his contract is ridiculous!
I watch Serie A much more than you David
So Tonali for 50-60 and can't adapt and play as a 6 but Rice for 100+ is worth it and would be able to adapt and not play as an 8?
He’s literally played as a 6 for the last 2 seasons, and already played prem football his whole career what you talking about adapt
Tonali is an incredible signing for us, better value than Mount for the same price 💯
Tonali isn’t English so he’s automatically worse than rice
@@mutts.nutts1wasn’t mount 50million and tonali more like 75 million
@@maxderdax6117 nar mate paid £55m for him, they're reporting of the fee is wide from the mark mate
It absolutley wasnt the case of Tonali wanting to cone to Newcastle, it was a case of him not wanting to leave Milan - There's a huge difference.
He could be a phenomenal signing and they paid £55m (or around that mark) not £70m
He will absolutely be adored up here and will play in an amazing midfield with Bruno and J7. Hes already spoken publicly about his gratitude for us and how we handled the full process. People woulsnt be saying this if it was Man City or Man Utd
I don’t know what is worse Sam’s takes or his arguments…
Tonali is only £55m plus 5 add ons max don’t get where €80mill came from. Looking at other CM’s in the market, who are going to get for similar price. He’s can play as an 8 instead of Longstaff, or a double pivot with Bruno. Can also play on the left of the 3 if Joelinton plays LW, brings great cover in midfield imo. Really don’t understand the idea of him being over priced
I was thinking the exact same thing they some how added and extra 20 million out of no where
So your basing a manager on one season
@@rbstickymicky66 ? Didn’t mention a manager?
Jealous of Newcastle with hating the Tonali transfer, breaking into the top 4/6 and not going anywhere. He's better than most of the other available midfielders on the market, and will hopefully come good. If Chelsea/Man Utd made this transfer for this money, you'd be lauding it...
They don't mention rice being overpriced yet he's double the outlay. Only state euros to fit there narrative
Ones a mackem what do you expect
Yup. Convinced the Newcastle slander is purely to increase interactions lmao ⚫️⚪️
This easily the craziest crossover episode ever done!! SDS and FD my 2 favorite football content channels linking up was not what I was expecting but glad we got it
As a Milan fan i have to say Newcastle got one special player. Tonali's passing range, insane stamina and the distance he covers will be the biggest asset. Leader mentality adapting even more from the likes of Ibra. One day he will return but what a player he is aswell with the physicality of Gattuso. Milanisti will never forget his goal against Lazio which helped secure the Scudetto a year ago.
People that haven't watched Tonali thinks hes overpriced but he could be worth 150mill in coming years considering he only just turned 23 with all this quality. Plus Milan didn't get rid of him because of Money reasons, we have money but the new owners are stingy using their own money and just couldn't refuse this money at this current time.
Typical English fans don’t even watch there own team let alone other leagues, I completely agree with you & that’s coming from an Inter fan ⚫️🔵🐍
@@never_around0010 And they hardly watch much of the English one lol. Given more of a focus towards the upper clubs, rather than the ones lower down.
Yet if Liverpool, City, or Man U had made the transfer, they'd be celebrating it, but cause Newcastle did it, it's overpaying lol.
It shows how much of a good player he is, when Milan fans are coming out in disappointment over losing him.
@@never_around0010 its sad but true, respect to you as an Inter fan still for recognising!
Glad to hear your views...you would think Newcastle would have done their homework 🤷♂️ these fools on tonali takes are clueless 🤦♂️
Lesgooo, football daily is single handedly carrying my soul until football season starts again
Love that mate!
(Dougie)
Triple F against Sam is the ultimate Spider-Man pointing at Spider-Man meme.
wait a minute, tonali, one of the best midfielders in the serie A while still at a young age is overpriced at 70mil while a fergueson, talented but not anything proven yet is cheap for 45? imo newcastle has made a magnificent signing with tonali. That midfield is rock solid
Absolutely loved this episode. Shoutout to the SDS guests for a great and funny sudden death debate at the end too.
You know I actually like the Tonali transfer. He will be 🔥 under Eddie Howe at Newcastle. And now, Newcastle is in the Champions League so Tonali will make a huge difference for Newcastle alongside Bruno Guimaraes
He may cause a few people to eat their words 👀
[Zac]
@@FootballDailyit would help if they actually knew what the fee was
@@FootballDailymore than a few zac, i cant believe some of the slander im seeing. He is such a talent. Everyone is so obsessed with us "needing a 6" and needing to "free up bruno" they will share both offensive and defensive duties and will be along side joe willock or joelinton who are both attacking but also defend and play for the badge for 90 mins, as does bruno and as will tonali. £55m for tonali is going to prove a value buy as did £35 for bruno. Watch this space. Dan ashworth knows more than these clowns
*£35m
Maybe the fee is not so great but I am telling you this guy is gonna be a legend at Newcastle like Alan Shearer
Lopetuguie finished 13th from 20th with wolves, 3 points behind a certain Chelsea that spent 300mil and had Potter. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE
Team talk was epic last week. Hope this is another banger. Ty for the content ❤
Hope you enjoy Chris!
(Dougie)
Lot of fun, enjoyed this, Sam's early takes were shocking though! :D also got the record the podcast guys are quality
If we're making suggestions, I love to see another chase as well as just guests in general I'd love to see the Irish guy, FNG, Hamill, John Bab, and Dave Jackson make one off appearances and maybe "the club" as I've seen Rory on sky a few times🔥🔥
FNG is shit
Tonali is upgrading Longstaff. Bruno G gets forward quite a lot, and it's the job of Longstaff(Tonali) to fill in when he does. Joelinton and Willock rotate on the left CM & wing so they aren't being replaced. Tonali also gives us another option to Trippier on set-pieces. I think he'll do well
49:09 de ligt, onana and Martinez are doing great. Haller is also alright.
The Ruben Neves move shouldn't be surprising to anyone. The only reason he left Champions League Porto for Championship Wolves was for money. Can't be surprised or complain when he does the same thing again. His motivation has been clear from day one.
How can they talk about Tonali and yet not even know the fee it’s £55 or €65 million. Tonali is also a better fit in the Newcastle system then Maddison
55, 65 or 70 million £s is an overspend regardless thats their argument. Time will tell but buying another 8 who’s not as creative as Madison definitely doesn’t seem like a better fit.
Southgate has, in his entire tenure, beaten the worst Germany side in living memory and..... nobody else of note. I don't think England have beaten a single team ranked above them in his tenure. That Sam thinks he is better than *anyone* is pretty embarrassing.
Picking Tonali for being overpriced then they read out the wrong figure Newcastle United paid.. he actually cost £5+ million less than Havertz.. and hasn't flopped like kai, the opposite infact. Abysmal takes every video.
goalkeeper has to be the hardest position for me, it's a very lonely isolated position and if you make a mistake it's simply a goal, you don't have a partner next to you etc to rely on.
Especially now that they're expected to also have the ball skills of ederson
100%.
A dm is pretty hard I reckon, all the great teams had phenomenal dms, look how case tranformed united, or fabinho dip in form caused lfc
@@marko9463I agree DM is one of the most important but I don’t think just because it’s important that makes it difficult. A lot of players drop into DM because they don’t have legs for B2B or 8 roles.
@@rossneil4413 it must be hard if people cant replace dm by a click of a finger.

Tonali is cheaper then Havertz 😂😂 it’s 55m quid with 5m add ons
SICK Line up ! Oba Vs Faysal 😂🍿
Tonali is 55 million pounds. Also a 23 year old champions league midfielder for that much is great
A treat! Love all the contents from Pep with glass 👌🏽
#FD
love the show today 💯
Tonali will prove you wrong and its £55m which is the same as mount
I see Faysal and I click, my favourite youtuber at the moment
Do your research on the Tonali deal before talking about it. It's £55m not £70m or €80m. Red bird do not need to sell, they’re actually one of the most financially stable clubs in Italy, and the tears story was from an Italian newspaper, and in the Athletic article James Horncastle shuts it down and says Tonali was surprisingly enthusiastic about going to the Premier League, hence why he agreed personal terms way before Newcastle agreed a fee with Milan. The fact that Dougie is apparently a European football expert and doesn’t know any of this is concerning.
He knows just to salty to admit its a class signing
You Newcastle fans are funny.. It's 60mil£.. Everywhere you look
He is Milan's record sale..
Athletic quoted the price at €70mil
@@karabomafa5609Sky Sports who are by far the most reputable have it at £55m. Most newspapers have it as £52m. £60m is inclusive of achievement related add-ons for example if he wins trophies, or how many games he plays etc, so it will only reach that fee if he’s class anyway.
Southgate job with England is great in regards to getting them to have a togetherness. But he’s been horrendous tactically
I love when FD collabs with football youtube
That chiesa shout is absolutely honking 😂😂
Fr😂
oof Sam right out the gate with the awful takes on question one! Get Pat in here to wind up Sams terribles takes! 🤣
As a Cm, I would back up the wing back role to be hardest. Maybe I think that way because I have always been cm so it is so natural for myself. It seems that full backs or nowadays wing backs has to run more and more and as a amateur player I my brains stop functionin when playing as a right back occasionally.
Ps. Love the show and keep up the good vibes!
We need to see Dougie vs the Irish guy happen as soon as possible.
Man, Sam knows nothing about football 💀 don’t get me wrong, I like his personality, and the different dynamic that he brings, but I genuinely question how he got a job at football daily 😂
Lmao i just wrote the exact same comment
52 million pounds for tonalli its not a overpayment
One of the things I love about Dougs is how he can make, for example, a point about Saudi that we're all thinking and is totally valid, while being conscientious and tactful enough to denounce the lazy euro-centric perspective that others might have relied on. Feel like he always makes a point of including nuance in his arguments and context is always everything!
I actually think that GK is the hardest position. I think it’s the position is the most difficult mentally, being the position you can’t play without. Now you have to be good on the ball and with your hands.
Funny how people refer to transfer fees in euros when they want it to seem overpriced then compare it to Pounds when showing value for money. 55 million for a 23 year old Italian International is too much? 10 years ago sure but not now.
Exactly my point! Why do they not talk about rice in euros?
Sam, I am surprisingly impressed with the CM argument. Well done!
GOATED COLLAB
Love the collab
We need more of sharky!!
What a collab 🤤
How is there so much misinformation about Tonali😂
He cost £55m not £80m. He also was not in tears, that was one rumour which was rubbished by various top journos. Yes £55m is slightly overpriced but nobody mentioned the overpayment of Havertz. Very strange 🤨
Moderator was shocked no one picked harvertz 😂. He really hoped they picked him instead
I cannot think of any football podcast i hold in lower regard and there are quite a few contenders 🤣
£55m is not too much at all for Tonali
The best crossover since Pogback and stormzy
you guys need to bring pat and rory jennings in a team talk together
Great idea lol
Pat would destroy Rory
simple man.. i see faysal i click!
My 7 year old says `like' all the time and it drives me mad - I cant have it on a an adult podcast! Gave up when the fella in the paris top thought Lopetegui should have done better at Wolves LMFAO and then they thought CM was the hardest position to play! There is a reason why strikers who score regularly are like gold dust and cost a more than any other position!
Big up Faysal 🤝
Tonali was £55mil, not €80m
SDS X FD ? Is this heaven ???
Dougie giving a football take without mentioning racism challenge... impossible
The disrespect to Tonali is absolutely beyond me
The tiebreaker was a great idea! 😊
this collab was bound to happen
Havertz not winning worst signing is shocking
My boi Fu Izzy and sharky would have smoked this ep . 😂😂
Tonali is going to be amazing what are these lot on about🤣🤣
Big look for SDS big up
SDS in the building 🙌
this must have been filmed a week ago or something, Szoboszlai to Liverpool has been known for a while now so aint no way Chelsea can sign him and Maddison to spurs as well
Speaking as a Serie A fan, it is not an overpayment for Tonali. It reflects his actual value as a footballer (a tough tackling playmaker) as well as his value to Milan and to Italy. Besides, the fee helps Newcastle make a splash, which is of value to them.
Magnifique contenue merci de nous faire rêvé.
I’ve been searching for the background music for months. Does anyone know the name?
Shout out faysal his content are amazing to see and i enjoy watching him
I think cm is the most difficult position because it’s the most busy position almost everything goes through the middle of the field whether it’s defending or attacking they have to be involved also it’s the fastest paced position everything is happening very quickly all at the same time constantly have to be checking your shoulders little turns and checks to create angles and midfielders tend be the most technically skilled this is coming from a cb so I don’t have a lot of bias in this but I just think the sheer amount of traffic in the middle makes it the most difficult
Sds collab >>>>
Dougie and Sam were straight up robbed!!!
Mikel has a plan for Havertz. I can see pictures in my head
I think cm is the hardest at the elite level but in general it’s not. Probably fullback or gk for me.
dream collab
Sam’s knowledge is purely from FIFA. Horror takes galore 😂
As an Arsenal fan Havertz, guy is a PL flop and we payed nearly 70 mil for this geezer.
CM is the most IMPORTANT position but the HARDEST position to play is Striker imo.
ST and GK
3 months later and Faysal was completely right about Maignan vs Onana
When was this recorded?? Coz Arsenal have got Declan Rice through the door with his medical on Friday 🔴⚪️
What a cast
love the show but can you get rid of the backing music throughout please
gr8 vid but a lil criticism: the music in the background a lil annoying and unneeded imo
If Tonali can settle in the Prem he could seriously shine.
He will show his qualities in the CL, but I do expect him to have a transitional period in the Prem. The intensity and speed is different so he may make a few mistakes in the start, but he is undoubtedly a class player, not to mention the positive effects of a more advanced Guimaraes is a scary thought.
You know what that chelsea need keeper shout is the worst shout I have heard all week
Chiesa can definitely play on the right, played most of his career on the right. If you wanted to argue him over diaby the injury is the key factor
We've been robbed of PvS slapping Triple F some with ball knowledge
When was this filmed a month ago? 😂😂
