I just realized why you need 999 coins to evolve this thing into Gholdengo.
The national Dex number of Gimmighoul is 999, and Gholdengo is number 1000.
A fun way of celebrating 1000 pokemon designs.

There is an npc in Medili that will give you a random amount of coins everyday. So unless you are rushing this guy, that could cut a couple of chests out of your grind

So if you go to where you fought larry in medali fly towards the pokecenter west go left you will see the amphitheater there is a alley on the right that’s where you can find the npc

Here I was doing my casual team planning before I start the game like I always do, and I looked at Gholdengo stats and movepool and thought "wow this thing is actually pretty good for a playthrough. I guess if I can evolve it before the end of the game", and then here's Austin John and his mind reader powers again answering my question.

Two pro tips:
1) You can climb watch tower ladders faster by holding B
2) Get this guy first if you're trying to fill your Pokédex. I found so many rare random encounters along the way that I'd grinded out by evolving things earlier. It would have saved a lot of time if I'd done this first and caught things along the way

I genuinely love the lore and inspiration behind it. It's a cleverly made pokemon inspired by what El Dorado originally was being a man made of gold before it eventually got adapted into a city. Hopefully there might be a reference or two in potential DLC surrounding Spanirads and Conquistadors travelling to different locations and the search of El Dorado.
Considering the history class, it might be a dlc

It get's even better when you know it outspeed former an favourite, Chandelure _and_ Good as Gold also prevents stat lowering via opponents moves. That's basically a _built in Clear Body_ to boot.

From what I've done, its random amount of coins rewarded if you capture the chest form Gimmighoul. They all range between 50-70 coins. The lighthouse tower with the 3 of them, there is some ruines located not too far from it. The chest ghoul gave me 70 coins for capture.
15:40 You can make pokeball drops respawn. You just have to save, close your game, and go forward a day. This is most helpful in the desert since it usually spawns money drops

Thank you so much for this! Gholdengo was the last Pokemon I needed for the dex and I would probably think I had to get all the coins from the roaming forms only if I didn't have this video
Another interesting thing about Gholdengo is that the ability prevents Defog from going off(at least on showdown, not sure if this is a bug) and being ghost you can't rapid spin on it. There is a new move that can remove hazards that it is also immune to.
Making this mon the perfect hazard removal disruptor.
I think you’re talking about Tidy Up. It’s a set up move, so it’s not unaffected by that, because it’s not the target

I did lots of exploring before doing any story and it was nice to see I didn't miss any. This video is so helpful! Thanks for the guide! Also, as a note, if you need charcadet to spawn, use a pickle sandwich at picnic! I encountered over 50 of them during the sandwich timer right outside the right side gate of mesagoza!
I didnt realize how rare charcadet is. It was one of the very first tera raids I came across in my game, so I've had one for a while

Just in case, if anyone does not know, you can speed up the climbing on the ladders by holding b. I just found out lol.

@@DarkDodgers idk man, it kinda depends on the game, in this case pokemon violet has the boost on L3 so my instinct was to press that to go faster.

For the tricky jump at 6:28, you can instead just fall down from above by sliding.
Simply stand on the upper level of the tower on foot (do not sit on your ride pokemon!) and then just walk towards the hole with the ladder in it and press B to do the little slide animation that your character does when entering stealth mode. Might take a couple tries, but it is not hard to slide through the hole that way and land on the lower level (you need to slide, because the game stops you at the ledge or makes you start climbing down the ladder otherwise).
You are literally a rockstar for staying so on top of all this info on the new pokemon games so quickly. Been watching since last year during BDSP drop when you came across my recommended and i refuse to take game advice from anyone other than YOU and phillybeatzu

@Pain I guess we are all different. I just use these guides for the stuff I can’t find anywhere else but it is way easier to just search up an image with all the gimmighoul chest locations on the map and go there and find them
To Austin in the past making this video: Ground type attacks do NOT work on the Steel Titan as his ability, Earth Eater, is basically Ground Absorb. I learned that the hard way. :p

Gholdengo is a really cool Pokemon. So far he's the only one I've found that can somewhat keep up with Miraidon/Koraidon at full speed! Ironic being that Gimighoul chest form is said to not even be able to move. I called mine Radighoul!
Gimmighoul is the 2nd slowest pokemon with a speed bst of only 10. It's a 3 way tie between Munchlax, Pyukkumuku, and Shuckle for 1st with a bst of 5. So...yeah it checks out lol.

There are a few spots I had memorized for roaming which helped a lot notably up towards south province and poco path under the bridge going to los platos

Another tip is to go to your settings and turn your music volume all the way down or to 2 and you can hear gimmiegouls cry while your playing. It help me find a lot of them

A legend as always. Love how you're keeping it classy and respectful. This game has a lot of cool new pokemon, new mechanics, and a lot of quality of life improvements. Hopefully they will patch some of the lag, but even if they don't, I hope the rest of the fan base realizes that the game has a lot of great qualities if you look past the occasional lag.
The game is great. If they fixed the performance issues and gave shinies a sparkle and sound, it would be a 10/10. I'm playing on a switch lite and it can be kind of hard to make out specific pokemon and their color because the screen is so low resolution.
@@idkwhattohaveasausername5828 I can understand that. I typically play while hooked up to a TV so I have no issue with the lack of sparkle for the shiny pokemon ✨️ hopefully they'll make some improvements soon and the fans will be able to appreciate it in its entirety

Randomly while going through the towers I caught my first shiny of the game a shiny fletchling

Just got my game few days back and I didn't know charcadet was that rare until i found 2 spots so far in the early game near the pokemon center beside klawf titan which charcadet will definitely spawn at night

how long have you noticed it taking to respawn yourself?
@@indianawesomeness to give you an idea, I have gotten the level 5 chest of Gimmighoul only twice once when I 1st turned the game on Nov 23rd. The next time I've seen it spawn was yesterday December 11th so I'm trying to find a connection if there even is one I also Time Skip sometimes to force Mass Outbreaks and that only gets the roaming ones to come back
So it is possible??? Because I already have 1 gholdengo, but I want another gholdengo to use strictly for raids. My current one is on my stadium team and I don't want to keep switching moves on it😅 but I haven't seen anymore chests spawn after I got them
@@BobRoss.58 definitely possible I'm working on my 3rd Gholdengo atm but I still have yet to determine how long it takes for chest to respawn so it might just be a daily chance to happen at a very Low % but I've definitely seen chests respawn I'm trying to make a team of 6 😅
