Quick and Easy Stargrave Troopers - How I Paint Things

  • The new range of plastic Stargrave miniatures from North Star Military Figures has arrived, the Troopers being one of three boxes of modular infantry kits. Painting them is dead simple! READ MORE:
    The thing I like most about the range is the fact they've been designed to be essentially 'generic' - there's nothing about them which stands out as belonging to any specific sci-fi franchise, so no matter what your vision for Stargrave, Five Parsecs from Home, or even Grimdark Future Firefight might be, these sinister Troopers will fit in perfectly. They're extremely easy to assemble and swapping parts between boxes is a breeze, but for today we're concentrating on a 'pure' Trooper from one box!
    The Stargrave range is available direct from North Star here: www.northstarf...
    If you're a customer outside the UK, a quick trip to Google should find local stockists.

    Stargrave Troopers are really one of those models that it's harder to find a bad scheme for them than it is to find a good one. My only complaint it that they need shoulder armor though.

    Loved it, another great video which inspired me to make a purchase and give it ago! Never painted these sorts of miniatures before but inspired by your choice of colour scheme I now have my first fully painted trooper. Learnt so much along the way as the painting techniques are different from what I've been used when railway modelling. Now to get the rest done. By the way any tips on putting these sorts of figures together. I found some challenges in getting the arms to align! Is it better to use superglue or something like plasticweld?

    • @SonicSledgehammerStudio
      @SonicSledgehammerStudio  Před 3 lety +1

      When you're assembling plastic miniatures, a glue to match is the best choice - brand tends to depend on location, but while superglue will work fine it doesn't give as permanent a bond. Most proper plastic cements work by essentially melting the two surfaces together, and since they don't set instantly you've got a little wiggle time to work them into the right position.
      Excellent choice on getting started! :D I hope it sticks with you!
