    Transmission Fluid - Change every 30,000 miles
    Differential Fluid - Change every 30,000 miles
    If you use synthetic, which I do. Amsoil 75w-90 for my transmission and differential, you can go 60,000 miles before changing.
    Also, your radiator fluid should be changed about every 30,000 miles.

      Motordyne G35 i bought a g35 and it hasnt had a transmission fluid change in around 45k miles, it now has 113k, would you recommend changing it now? Or leave it. Ive been told that its better to leave it if it hasnt been changed in a long time

    • @MotordyneG35
      @MotordyneG35  Před 6 lety +3

      Cristian Chavira .....change it. 45k miles is not a long time. If you had never changed it at 145k miles, then you may not want to bother because it is too late, the damage is already done because you never changed it.

    Car start up and warming up, straight from an engine builder I know, and makes perfect sense. Depending on how cold it is warm ups take longer. In modern cars with fuel injection, no chokes like carbs, crank the car give it 30 seconds to allow oil to get to ALL engine parts. Now drive easy until engine is fully warm. DO NOT rev it hard until fully warm and oil is really flowing. This protects engine internals. NOW do not let it idle for 5 minutes to warm, it warms more evenly with easy driving. Not to mention oil pumps do not put out as much pressure at idle as they do when driving. More pressure allows full flow of oil to all engine parts. This made sense to me, but do as you like. been doing this for years with no issues.

I didn't know all of them, and I've taken care of all of my cars really well (yes, I'll say it, for a woman, and I know more than many women about cars due to DOD (dear old dad!). You would be surprised with how many people, men and women, know zero about cars. My neighbor did no maintenance on her last car and ran it till she HAD to buy a new one. Brand new when she bought it and less than 70k miles when it died. Shocking! This should be a HS course, along with Parenting!!!

    I really have to say it seems like everyone in the comments is a car expert and wants to argue with your logic that makes complete sense and is backed up by evidence. You are spot on and take really good care of your vehicle and it shows. You have a good bit of miles on it and it still puts out great power and hasn't had many problems throughout its life. So obviously You are doing something right. While most of this stuff i already knew, I appreciate the info that was more specific to the g35 as i intend to upgrade to one when i get the funds for it.

      Max NAVAS .....I currently live in Phoenix, but I am from Ohio. In Ohio, I refused to drive my car in the winter and I had a beater car, which was my first car the 240sx. That was 11 years ago and I do not miss the snow at all. The G37x is a great pick with all-wheel drive and an awesome car, but winters make driving difficult. I grew up with a 240sx driving in the snow which is rear wheel drive and I had plenty of scary moments because I lived in the country. With all-wheel drive you should be fine though.

    Love the videos man. I actually just replaced my window motor tonight after watching your video on how to, although I made a bonehead mistake and didn't bolt the rails back on before I tested it... big ole pain in the ass that was. I did have a question though, when I turn off my car, I hear a rattle coming from underneath the car around the clutch/gearbox maybe, and only after its gotten warm. It's been like that since I bought it a year ago.

    • @MotordyneG35
      @MotordyneG35  Před 6 lety +1

      Jonathan Riffe ......if the rattling does not get louder when you rev the motor, nothing to worry about. These cars, the G37 and G35 when you shut them off they make a rattle noise. The Flywheel is the noise as it stops spinning and it has springs on it being a dual mass flywheel.

    Agree 100% except partial disagree with car warm up. I just want to add that when you cold start your rpms will be elevated above normal idle rpm. You need to wait till those rpms return to normal idle rpms then you can drive it. May or may not be 30 -60 seconds. The reason you don't do the start and let run for 10 minutes ( like cars do with auto start) is now you have a warmed up engine but with still cold drive train. Like you mentioned and is very very important is to not drive like your racing (aka high room range) till entire engine is at full temp. As your driving down the road. Cold engine is a tight engine.( Metal contracts and expands with heat!) And tight is not good! (At least not on an engine lol). To bad your far from me. Be cool to get a cruise night and hang out.

    Excellent tips....I love the sound of your G too! How did you get it to sound like that? I have a 2012 G37xS Coupe. I have the R2C intakes and stock exhaust. Also reprogrammed ECU with UPREV Osiris. The car performs much better with the tune BTW. Also I also let it idle. The Aircon tip is good but also make sure that you check you in-cabin air filter too. I use Shell V-Power w/Nitro. Best gas out there. If you're in Canada be aware that Petro-Canada has a 94 octane that contains Ethanol. Ethanol is not a good chemical for our cars because it causes carbon deposits and gumming up of the valves and injectors. The cheaper gases also contain Ethanol...and that's why lawnmower engine carbs are always failing.

    Hey man got a question for you. I have a 04 g35 6MT with 125k miles on it. Havent been driving it as of late due to poor steering. When I make turns or turn the wheel at approx 1-2 oclock and 10-11 oclock, it is super stiff and feels like it is binding up. Any ideas? I've heard rack and pinnion or something power steering related. My fluid looks clean for the power steering but who knows it might need to be flushed. Or maybe my pump is bad?
    additionally, my back left wheel is cambered out, and the suspension is stock. I want to upgrade my suspension to something that gives a really nice firm ride, but super comfortable to bumps, etc. Any suggestions on a full kit (shocks, coils, control arms, etc.)?? Thanks in advance I know i asked alot but i would appreciate it!

    You don't have to warm your oil up to over 100 degrees to preserve your engine. Modern oil warms to 50 - 70 dregees is more than sufficient enough to drive around normally. BUT don't high rev it.

    I’ve got a 2006 sport coupe, & I love it! I had 2 BMW 635 csi’s, they were nice as long as they DIDNT NEED SOME TYPE OF WORK DONE which became constant. They were a money pit! The G35 is a Nissan so it’s much more reliable. It’s fast, powerful, looks great, (mines white) just do reg maintenance & no probs! I DO wonder where they got the idea of having a sideways oil dipstick, it kinda sucks & is hard to see oil on it & a bit difficult to reinsert into the tiny hole, but the car is still great!

      @MotordyneG35  Před 6 lety

      Angel Gonzalez .....thanks for the feedback. Good question. In all honesty, it will probably be cheaper to do an engine swap than a rebuild. You can find used engines with low miles from cars that were in rear end collisions totaling the car. When you rebuild, you run the risk of the mechanic not getting 1 item in spec and then the rebuilt engine siezes. Then the mechanics blame you, you blame the mechanic. I've read horror stories on people rebuilding for boost, engine blows up the first year.

    Vehicle AC compressors are NOT variable load. They are singular on or off compressors. They are either engaged or not engaged. The recirc and exterior air options simply change the source path. It does not change the load on the system.
    The hardest thing on a system is a system that is never run.

    In my 350Z owners manual it says the opposite of warming up the car.
    It states that you should start moving as soon as you start the car and Ive heard several times that if you do warm up the car as the mixture is rich on a cold start you will get unburnt fuel passing down the pistons to your oil and ruining it.

      Actually, I've heard that idling was really only necessary on older vehicles with less efficient oil systems (splash lubrication). Modern engines with oil pumps have the oil where it needs to be before you even have time to toss it in gear, assuming you're using the proper oil weight for your climate.

    • @MotordyneG35
      @MotordyneG35  Před 6 lety

      Try reading instead of listening to others, it will help you in the long run with a lot of things. The manual was written by engineers. Here it is verbatim in the owners manual. www.g35club.org/download/2005-G35.pdf
      4. Warm-up
      Allow the engine to idle for at least 30
      seconds after starting. Do not race the
      engine while warming it up. Drive at
      moderate speed for a short distance
      first, especially in cold weather. In
      cold weather, keep the engine running
      for a minimum of2-3 minutes before
      shutting it off. Starting and stopping
      the engine over a short period of time
      may make the vehicle more difficult to
      start.

    i own the 06 model. Tbh, all you need to do is for the first ten minutes of driving, calm yourself and don't overrev it. that gives the engine pleeeenty of time to come up to temp, and then you can do whatever the heck you like. you dont need to rest the engine after startup like this. just drive calmy for a wee while and your engine can do the rest once it hits operating temp. if you are that impatient to thrash it then you shouldnt own such a nice car :D

    Do you still have the oem clutch pedal assembly? Even if you don't have the stick on the pedal the RJM feels a million times better than stock for day to day, and you can dial in the high engagement if you want to keep it.

    • @MotordyneG35
      @MotordyneG35  Před 6 lety

      I'm not into touchy feely parts. I'm into performance parts and the RJM does nothing. The only reason I ever considered it, is because it supposedly puts less stress on the slave cylinder. Well, considering my slave cylinder comes with a lifetime warranty, the value in the RJM, for me, became worthless. It does nothing to help you shift faster. I like the high engagement point from the factory because it was designed that way for fast easy shifts.
