I do the same thing on the climb. I only use my linesman when I have to go around branches. I do have a figure 8 in the pouch for backup just in case of mechanical failure and also have a prusik just in case even though having it is not recommended with the madrock (prusik is not holding me up). Stay safe and good video

Great video. You really need to back up your device tho. Two is one and one is none.

Belay devices are not meant to hold you constantly on a rope brother you need at least to put prussic knot above your belay device and you need to use that linesman belt. I think I will just stick to my 3 sticks but cool concept but be safe with that mad rock as your trusting it with your life without a backup

Nice demo Terry. What percentage of your hunts did you one stick this past year?

you may have mentioned it but I missed it. What rope are you using and what's the length of it?

I know it works for you but I'd be really careful with that tether connection point. I watched a video of a guy's carabiner with a twist lock actually open when his platform fell and he was only being held by the tip of it

For God's sake man where is your linesman belt and why aren't you using it on the climb?

He is attached to the tree the entire time with his tether.

@@ballisticsquidfirearms5439 Not until after he is about 6 or 7 feet up, and the linesmans rope is never deployed.

@@prphillips33 he deploys it once he is at the top of the stick. You don't have to have a linesman belt. You can use a tether line and be just fine. He is securely tied off to the tree and the bridge. A tether is a lot easier to use and tighten than a linesman.

Linesman belt is not a reliable fall safety device. It only guarantees you'll land at the base of the tree.

I find that when I hang my pack, it always seems to be in the way for some shot angles. Such as going around the tree to take a week side shot. Do you ever find that to be an issue?
